New thread because the last one was giving me "Sorry, this thread is too big to accept new messages".
Onilly - sorry, yes I am sure it's due date - see here - "the Regulations apply to women expecting their babies on or after 1 April 2007.... If an employee's 'expected week of child-birth' falls before 1 April 2007 the old rules will apply."

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

TheBlonde - it is confusing isn't it? I heard last week that it reduces the risk of childhood lukemia for the child if you have it when PG.

Generally I try and avoid medicines etc but my work are offering free flu jabs tomorrow and I'm in a bit of a quandry about this one. Suppose its safer not to have it really?

Anyone else know anything about this?

TheBlonde · 01/11/2006 08:57

foxie - you are best to just quiz your company doc who will hopefully have an informed opinion on it!

guyfoxie · 01/11/2006 09:00

That's a good idea - my PG brain didn't think that logically!!!

AmieFireCracker · 01/11/2006 10:12

Happy Birthday Cath! Have a good'un!

Hope all is well Kitty.

muppetisacat · 01/11/2006 10:56

Happy Birthday Cath - hope you have a lovely lunch and your mum behaves herself!

Kitty - I got knocked in the stomach by a pony's head last week and it really winded me, but the midwife said the same about the fluid protecting baby etc and just to check I got no red blood etc. It all ended up fine and probably taught me to just take things easier around horses etc! No bad thing!

Any news from Eidsvold? hope the scan went well for her yesterday.

muppetisacat · 01/11/2006 11:06

Foxy - I think the flu jab is recommended for pregnant women if they have diabetes or asthma or problems with their immune system. But I did hear you should try to get the 'mercury free' jab wherever possible! Whatever that means - I would have thought mercury was a bad idea for anyone anyway but I'm no vaccine expert!

I think I'd be tempted to have it, although I know that they don't recommend it if you are less than 12 weeks pg - which always makes me suspicious...

Rosyspookily · 01/11/2006 11:11

Love all the new names. I'm not sure what to do with mine yet. We don't do bonfire night here in NI.
Leo great to hear about the 2 sacs!

Anglaise your set up sounds as mad as mine! We've been doing it for years too and I sometimes wonder if it would work for us to be together as we are so used to our space. But when we are together for short times its really intense and tiring and when we get long times we all settle and get comfortable then when its time to part we have a row! Its a bit of a rollercoaster!

Its my scan today and I'm so nervous I've got the runs!

Happy birthday Cath!

Rosybumpily · 01/11/2006 11:21

There we go, something neutral till christmas name time (which I can't wait for!)

Rosybumpily · 01/11/2006 11:22

Hoping to find out sex! Will let you know!

eidsvold · 01/11/2006 11:54

scan is tomorrow your time - roughly 2am when you lot are tucked up in bed

guyfoxie · 01/11/2006 12:34

Rosy - good luck. Don't be nervous, it'll be fine. Just lie back and enjoy seeing your LO on screen!! Can't wait to find out what you're having

Eids - I'll be thinking of you at 2am (not really!). Let us know how it goes.

22+3 (boy)

guyfoxie · 01/11/2006 12:34

Mupprt - I'm tempted to give the vaccine a miss actually, that way there is no risk!!!

muppetisacat · 01/11/2006 12:47

On reflection foxie - I'd probably do the same as you and keep taking the vit C and try to stay away from anyone who looks ill!

Will be thinking of you Eidsvold and still sending those positive vibes to you.

Can't think of bonfire/Xmas name so will remain a muppet I think!!

Rosy... we await news of boy/girl... I reckon these boys are outnumbering the girls at present!

21+4 (boy)

spinningkittywheel · 01/11/2006 12:59

hello all, everything sounds jolly here
Thanks for all the reassurances re bumpimg bumps. I think all is ok.
Rosy, I can't wait for your scan results.
Good name foxie

Booboobedoo · 01/11/2006 14:26

Hi everyone. Vom-free day today, so I'm happy.

I'm really lucky with my Mum. In fact, if I'm half as good a Mum as she is, I'll have done ok. [sob]

Getting really impatient for my scan now. Have no idea why Kings scan so late. 23+4 is cutting it a bit fine if anything is seriously wrong, isn't it?

On the other hand, I'd be really surprised if anything is. This baby's kicking for England.

Kitty: hope your tum's ok today.

Piffle: have they given you any pain-killers? Doesn't sound like paracetamol would be up to much in your situation.

Think I'll stick to this name now until Christmas. I'm not feeling inspired.

EDD 3/3
22+3

guyfoxie · 01/11/2006 14:41

Boobo - you're lucky to be at King's they're great! Are you going to find out the gender?

kittyspinningperson, when is your scan date?

I keep losing the plot here as to who is due when. I'm so tired today I don't know whether I'm Authur or Martha

cathblowsoutcandles · 01/11/2006 15:34

well so far so good, i'm the ripe old age of 29 and it actually feels ok , dd was lovely this morning and lunch with my mum went really well all things considered.. now having a well-earned rest and friend coming over later on.. i haven't burst into tears yet!! still, 9 hours to go ... can't believe i'll be having two children under the age of 30 without a partner around, still doesn't seem real, even though my bump has suddenly this week expanded outwards so there's no hiding the fact now (not that i really want to..). anyway hope everyone's having a good day

Anglaise1 · 01/11/2006 16:06

Cath - happy birthday - I'm in Brittany in France BTW, Rosy, have the same dilemma, things actually work well at a distance so not sure what it will be like when we finally live together again (although we managed fine the first 3 years!) At least I don't have to watch football on the TV every night...Good luck with the scan today - DP didn't want to know the sex so I specifically asked not to know after the amnio, but I will have a good look at my scan on Monday! DD only wants a sister, she already has 2 half brothers in the UK and says that's enough.

spinningkittywheel · 01/11/2006 16:09

Foxie, scan's tomorrow Horray

Booboobedoo · 01/11/2006 17:35

Hi fox! We definitely want to find out the sex. Thing is, although I'd be happy with either, I'm sort of hankering after a girl. (I do love little boys though, so no prob either way).

I want the time to bond with a boy or a girl before baby's born, if that makes sense.

Booboobedoo · 01/11/2006 17:36

Happy birthday Cath

divastrop · 01/11/2006 17:47

hello everyone.

cath-happy birthday.i enjoyed my 29th,i am not looking forward to the next one though.there is a strong possibility i could be giving birth on my 30th birthday
i was a single mum of 3 at the age of 27!

i told the older ones the baby is prob a girl and ds1 said'oh no not another girl!'-didnt one of yours say something similar kitty??

im geeting my head round the idea now and im thinking how much money we are going to save on clothes if it really is a girl

dd2 has another chest infection-poor thing.shes still happy though.shes been with dp all afternoon as ive been on a course.2 whole hours without children, talking to other adults!

21weeks

spinningkittywheel · 01/11/2006 18:24

Hello Diva, yes ds2 actually screamed and wailed, ran out of the room shouting "Not another woman".
I've made him promise that he will hide any disappointment should things not be to his liking tomorrow we'll see

Rosybumpily · 01/11/2006 18:29

Its a boy! I can't believe it, first time my 'feeling' was wrong. Everything was fine and such a huge relief. Poor dd is a bit disappointed, she'll have 3 brothers and no little sister to dress up in frilly dresses! Think I'll get her a big baby girl doll for her birthday in January.

It was just gorgeous to see him today, I'm feeling really bonded now and can't wait to start browsing boys names!

looking forward to hear how everyone elses scans go.
