She sounds tough smiling :(
Have you pointed out the guest can't stay in DSCs room? Might be an opportunity to get her to sort her lounge out if nothing else?

Hope you're feeling ok LIG

Must be a day for parties Tiny I had DD1's today too. Although I chickened out a bit and did soft play - less work for me ;) I did only have 7 kids though, and the parents are my friends so it was actually a nice day!

Sympathies with the heartburn too smiling Mine has yet to hit (thank God!) but I was plagued with it in both times before - it is no fun at all. I was swigging gaviscon straight from the bottle by the end.
Apparently it means the baby has lots of hair?! Was true for both mine.

I'm shattered but I have work to do so must get on. :(

TinyTear · 25/01/2015 20:26

Lig hope you feel better soon.
Smiling I really want to give you mil a slap!!

Party went well. I am knackered though. DD loved it and we didn't have many meltdowns... Just one poor boy with 3 or 4 wee accidents...

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 26/01/2015 10:07

Yay for 27 weeks london

My week just gets better, got to work this morning and my boss is working from home today and tomorrow so no chance of a quiet couple of weeks before mat leave like I was hoping for Sad I arrived to a list of "could you do x,y,z today and that parcel needs to go to the post office if you don't mind", I've had 3 hours sleep and am so tired I could cry. I also have my mat cover shadowing me this afternoon so the kids are going to be in overdrive. Mummy and a new nanny all in one day is a recipe for overexcited children. Roll on next Thursday then I can have a rest although with my luck at the moment beanie will probably come early and ill have no rest at all Confused

TinyTear · 26/01/2015 10:40

Ahrgh!!! I do hope you are earning enough to be both nanny and housekeeper!

Can you get the mat cover to do the hardest bits?

OP posts:
smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 26/01/2015 10:53

She's not coming till school pick up time so I plan on showing her round then leaving her to get to know the kids while I cook tea and no I don't get paid enough to be a housekeeper, I saw the temp nannies contract last week they have added doing all the families laundry and ironing and running errands outside the home, they can think again if they are considering adding that to mine.

Just 8 hours left today then 5 more days, I'm currently hiding in the youngests bedroom half heartedly sorting out his wardrobe but really just trying to have a rest whilst looking busy.

LondonSuperTrooper · 26/01/2015 11:46

Smiling hope that you can get through today & tomorrow! Be positive & just look forward to your maternity leave and that will undoubtedly raise a smile on your face.

I certainly wouldn't like to do your job or have your employers!

Shetland · 26/01/2015 12:17

Great news london :)

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 26/01/2015 12:20

Are we all over 27 weeks now?

Can someone add me....though I could do it on my iPad but need to get on my laptop.

Lig1979 due date 17.4.2015

Smiling - hope you are getting through today. Your employer sounds like a tyrant but at least the end is in sight and you can hand over to your cover soon. I hope this afternoon goes well.

Dances - how is the bed rest going? Same to little?

Babiecakes -are you also on bed rest? Or just hanging on but still able to do things?

Tiny - 7 3 year olds is plenty for a party especially when you have adults too. At dd's 2nd I had 9 party guests plus about 4 siblings and 1/2 parents each - our place was rammed! (Luckily it was summer so had overspill into the garden and garden games.) Although not sure I would have wanted them all without parents either.

I imagine by April there will not be many of us left to have babies? I am suspecting ds will arrive a couple of weeks early like dd did so aiming for early April. Although it will be interesting to see what position he is in at my 28 week appointment on Thursday.

I am still unwell but seem to be improving a bit. I feel well enough today to think about all the things I need to do but not well enough to do them. Getting out of bed wasn't such a good idea this morning so now MIL is round looking after dd for me. (My mil is great!!!) Luckily tomorrow dd is at nursery so just got to get her there (which will be a physical feat in itself) and then can stay at home all day. Dh is also unwell now but at least he can drug himself up.

fortunately we had only one sibling, a 8 month old... there was a 6yo coming, but didn't at the last minute (phew)

And also there was mostly just one parent per child, only the couple who brought the baby had 2 parents... but also meant there were 3 men, not just mothers (which was one of DH's fears) Grin Even though the crowd (dd included) was 3 girls and 5 boys

We have a balcony, no garden, but it was too cold to get there... still, it worked out fine... kids had a whale of a time sliding down the steps on their bottoms Grin

Hi all, sorry I've been lurking too.

Desperately trying to get up to date with work before baby arrives. And our Au Pair wants to leave at the end of Feb, so we are trying to organise a replacement.

Plus my dad has taken a bit of a downturn - he has some nasty pressure sores on his back, and I'm quite worried they are never going to heal (he is very bad at letting them turn him onto his side to relieve them for a bit - because it hurts so much to be in that position). He is remarkably perky and mentally strong, given his situation, but it does mean that he is able to decide for himself whether he wants to do something or not, be that being moved, taking certain medication or eating. I totally respect his right to choose what he wants, and I would rather that than him be unable to express what he wants for himself, but it is hard for my mum and I to watch him fade away because he refuses to take the food supplements, and potentially get all sorts of problems from the pressure sores not healing. He is getting scarily thin now - his legs are basically just skin on bone, no muscle or fat at all. I feel like he is just going to hang on until LittleMissTea arrives, and then give up Sad

Sorry for the depressing post, it is just weighing heavily on my mind at the moment. With everything else going on, I feel like I've barely got time to think about DD and her imminent arrival. I'm not even listening to my hypnobirthing CD and preparing with that.

Seeing the consultant this Friday, so I'm looking forward to hearing what she has to say about being signed off as low risk now (hopefully). I'd better go round to the GP and see if my MW left my MATB1 for me! Still need to do my Maternity Allowance application. And my tax return! Shock

I hope you are feeling better soon LIG. Also thinking about Little and Babies. Bring on mat leave for smiling!!! Hope you are ok tanny
