Hello! Long time no post. Not sure if someone told you all already but I sprogged on Weds following induction and a very bumpy birth ending in emcs (which was fine actually!) Lochlan Jack was born at 13.07 weighing a very chunky 10lb5. He'd wrapped his cord twice around his neck and once around his arm so it was always going to end up in a sunroof exit in the end! Will post a pic once I've figured out how to use this app Smile

Lucy90 · 12/12/2014 12:23

Congrats monkey Smile

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 12/12/2014 13:38

Congratulations Monkey!! Glad all is well and your wee monkey got out safely in the end Smile

Nothing happening here. I spent most of the night on the toilet because of the immense pressure in the back, but nothing came out! I went to sleep at about 5am and just woke up now. Body clock is officially fucked.

Been having pains all afternoon but trying to convince myself its braxton hicks to save myself any disappointment :(

ziggystarducks · 12/12/2014 17:20

Hi all xx sorry for radio silence, I have a good excuse though!

At 2.13am on Wednesday morning, Robin was born safely at 7lb 6oz.

Scary birth because after doing the whole first stage at home between 5am - 11.30pm on Tuesday we went to hospital when contractions were 5 mins apart and absolutely agonising. Upon arrival, I was told I was NOT in 'active labour' as I was ZERO cm dilated FFS??!! And that I would need to go home Angry
Thankfully the midwife took some pity and let me stay 20 mins for monitoring; in which time i moved 4cm. I then started bawling for an epidural but of course there was some other inconsiderate cow poor mother ahead of me in the queue, so I had to wait, by which time I was getting contractions every 2 minutes which were excruciating and scary. The chap arrived to do the epidural and as he was faffing trying to explain risks and get monitors on, I had an overwhelming urge to push. I expected the midwife to yell at me to stop but she pushed the anaesthetist away roughly and announced that I was having the baby right then!
I was most displeased as I'd expected a nice clam epiduralled delivery, but Noooo, I was going to have to do it naturally! One single push and his head came out, quickly followed by a very healthy baby boy Smile
Incredibly, no tears or abrasions on me but a few bruises on his little face.
We went home later that day and are happily adjusting to life with two gorgeous kids now.

Thanks for all the support and encouragement, congratulations to all other new arrivals mummies and good luck to all of you still waiting, especially the overdue, because even going 1 week over was unpleasant.

Hugs xxxx

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 12/12/2014 22:10

haaaahahhahahaaa Peace! Does he know that its not him that does the birthing?

figginz · 13/12/2014 00:19

Congrats ziggy and haha peace! Grin

Started to get weird cramps this evening. Feels like period pains but I thought contractions were supposed to be felt in your back? These are definitely in the front. Maybe it's the entire bar of Cadbury caramel I ate this afternoon rather than labour starting... Shock

Due date tomorrow. Eek!

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 13/12/2014 00:19

I knew I should have married a seahorse.

Pretty sure it's front/back/both/either/neither figginz! Hope it's something exciting happening!

Had a false alarm here too earlier. Was getting period type pains on and of for about an hour, had my timer app at the ready and was thinking action plan. But then i went for a poo and then there was nothing. So disappointing :(

Now 5/6 days overdue. She has 6 days to shift her bloody arse as i really don't fancy being induced and am already freaking out about it. I bloody hate hospitals. Was so relieved when they opened the mw led unit as it's so un-hospital like. But it's looking like I'm going to be freaking out on the regular delivery ward :(

figginz · 13/12/2014 00:39

Very amused by seahorse idea, Peace!

Yy here's to something exciting starting. In the meantime, I'm off to bed!

Lucy90 · 13/12/2014 08:21

Putting xmas tree up with MIL today then a meal out tonight for FILs birthday-hopefully this will take my mind off baby waiting :(

carlene1987 · 13/12/2014 08:42

I also had a false alarm yesterday and have woken disappointed and hating my uncooperative body. I had painful tightenings every 10 minutes all day, went to bed, woke up, gone ??
I also found out the most crappy news yesterday. My induction was booked and the only available date is Xmas eve, meaning spending Xmas in hospital. That would make me 42 weeks exactly as well, and bloody miserable. Get out baby! sob
I honestly think they shouldn't tell u a particular due date. It's far too disappointing when u go over after counting down for so longSad sorry for the miserable rant.
Congratulations to the ladies who've had their babies. Flowers

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 13/12/2014 10:42

Carlene don't worry about the actual date of christmas - have a nice meal and swap pressies on a different day and have a pretend christmas. Ours is going to be on 21st :D hope you manage to go into labour before then, though.

Thanks peace. I'm trying to stay as positive as possible about it, its just very frustrating. I'm praying that things start soon for me and for all the ladies on here who wish it to be so. This late stage is rather irritating!
I'm off out this evening and I will b having a small glass of prosecco to slightly make me feel like a human again. I'm sure 1 won't hurt.
Has anyone got any advice on mucus plugs please? I've read they can be a variety of colours and come away in bits or as a whole. When you have a tonne of discharge anyway it's difficult to tell what's what. TMI but I lost a lump if clear jelly this morning. Does this sound like it (or am I too hopeful!)? Also been getting lots of sharp stabbing pains very low down. Maybe cervical changes? (again it's likely wishful thinking).
Any progress for anyone else?
I'm off to furiously scrub the kitchen!

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 13/12/2014 12:07

One glass definitely won't hurt and will make you feel better! I've been having one or two wee glasses a week.

I've been losing very small amounts of clear/yellow/greenish jelly for about three weeks now, but if yours is more of a lump I'd be inclined to think that was a bit of your plug. Unfortunately they do regenerate themselves and don't seem to really mean anything is imminent!

Have a nice time tonight. I'm off out into town so DH can volunteer at my old shop and get his hair cut. I will be braving the post office and sitting in a coffee shop.

Have a nice afternoon Peace

CatFaceCrayola · 13/12/2014 14:40

They really should get rid of the Due Date, give people a due month or a due fortnight or something instead

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 13/12/2014 14:46

Haha it's all voodoo anyway; no one really knows what's going on in there. When they tell you the sex at 20 week scan there's actually someone in the next room spinning a wedding ring and predicting it.

OP posts:
figginz · 13/12/2014 16:15

Let's start a campaign to get rid of bloody due dates! When the sonographer adjusted mine by a day I couldn't resist saying "are you sure it's worth the botherHmm ?"
