Unfortunately nothing has been scientifically proven to induce labour except... a chemical induction Grin DH (also a scientist) is disappointed that christmas won't be a blur of curry and sex.

I was very fed up and depressed yesterday. Hoping to get something done today, though. I'm also going to brave aqua natal tonight which I'm really excited/nervous about. Excited to be weightless!

Successfully removed all my thigh fur last night with DH's assistance. The rest will have to stay because effort.

I dont know why im so surprised shes not here, im 38+2 so still 12 days to go!
I also read nipple stimulation can bring on labour because your body associates it with breast feeding! Anything is worth a go im so uncomfortable and fed up :(

CatFaceCrayola · 10/12/2014 15:25

40+3 mw appointment this morning.

She attempted to do a sweep but my cervix is way up high, posterior and completely closed up tight so she couldn't get to it.

So disappointing. Have spent a large percentage of today crying and thinking not good thoughts. Trying to keep occupied but feel shitty

Taura · 10/12/2014 16:30

:( Catface.
My midwife was a little bit more successful doing a sweep, but cervix

figginz · 10/12/2014 16:34

Oh dear - lots of Thanks and Brew to everyone who's feeling a bit low today. Our babies will arrive soon. I hope...

And yes CallingAllEngels I know! I was having such a good sleep too, can't believe she thought midnight was a decent time to call new parents?! Hmm

Roonerspism · 10/12/2014 18:40

Flowers to everyone struggling.

Ummmmm - way TMI but DH gave me an orgasm and that was what broke my waters. No sex mind. Just saying in case it helps anyone!!!!

Lucy90 · 10/12/2014 18:52

Rooner im going to give that a try!!

Roonerspism · 10/12/2014 20:36

I was also too ashamed to tell the midwives that :)

espa · 10/12/2014 20:58

Ooh I'm up for giving that a try rooner, my SIL keeps telling me to have sex but seriously can't imagine being comfortable enough to even get going!

espa · 10/12/2014 20:59

Feeling a few cramps tonight so have my fingers crossed. Sadly DH actually doesn't want baby to come before he finishes up work for Christmas!

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 10/12/2014 21:14

I had 45 minutes of very strong BH at about 20 weeks after an orgasm! I've been too scared to do it again, ha!

Aqua natal was lovely, although the instructor was like a PE teacher, shouting at us for talking and not putting in enough effort Blush I loved floating in the wave machine at the end. But DH has a migraine so I had chips for tea and now feel gross and greasy.

I have news :)

Gave birth a beautiful little lady last night at 1:34 at home.
Initially called midwives at 5 pm after hours of irregular painful contractions only to be told i am 2 cm, cervix is high and not effaced and most certainly not in labour. Was told to go to sleep with some paracetamol.
DH had to call them 2h later as i was groaning in pain and they came back (felt a bit like a drama llama as they had just left!) They came over and we had a chat, decided to examine me again. 5 cm and in established labour.
She was born a couple of hours later. Waters broke naturally and she came 7 min after. Only gas and air and warm water as pain relief (so sorry neighbours) but i was totally begging for an epidural at transition stage and asked DH "WHOSE FUCKING IDEA WAS IT TO HAVE A HOME BIRTH?!" contractions remained irregular throughout which was odd.
Say hi to Anna :) 9 lbs 9 oz

Look at all the hair! Congrats x

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 11/12/2014 00:02

I can't sleep; think AN has energised me!
What are we all looking forward to the most after we've given birth? Those who've done it already but are still on the thread - were you looking forward to anything and did it live up to expectation?

I cannot wait to be able to roll over in bed without thinking about it, and being able to get into bed without having to try it from different angles to find the least painful route.

Roonerspism · 11/12/2014 01:14

Ummmmm, well..., I guess I have gone from being very mobile to an immobile potato after my csection, which is maybe why I'm struggling!!

But on a more positive note :) - after 10 long long months of nausea it is bloody brilliant not to feel sick again. Just amazing in fact!

I also love the fact I no longer need to think about rare meat etc and can just EAT!

But this is my last baby. I have loved my pregnancies and bumps and brand newborns. I'm strangely sentimental about closing the door on this chapter in my life.

Enjoy every last minute of your pregnancies :)

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 11/12/2014 01:24

Aw Rooner, never say never and all that!

I haven't enjoyed pregnancy at all, so I'm really looking forward to it being over; but I expect I'll find something to be sentimental about once it is over! I am a perpetual moaner Wink

Hm I am properly wide awake.

I am loving being able to walk again (pgp), eat what I like, Not feel sick, being able to bwnd in the middle. for the first time in my life I feel light!

I miss my bump. I also miss sleep. I am coping far better yhan I thought I would on very broken sleep.

was not prepared for how much I love my baby, and how fiercely I would protect her. Grin

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 11/12/2014 02:30

Yesss BHLS I can't wait to be able to walk normally again, and less like John Wayne

Lucy90 · 11/12/2014 06:13

Ive tried everything, nothing has worked. Ill just have to wait until she decides she is ready to come out!
I think i will definitely miss feeling her moving round in there, especially when i put music on and she starts dancing-thats just absolutely gorgeous and always makes me smile Smile

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 11/12/2014 06:48

lucy I do miss feeling her wiggle inside me, however, holding her little sleeping body in my arms and thinking "I grew you!" makes it worth it.

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 11/12/2014 06:49

Oh, and sleeping on my front Grin Grin Grin

munchkin2902 · 11/12/2014 06:58

I've been on the Facebook page too much and forgotten who everyone is on Mumsnet!

In for induction after suspected pre- eclampsia yesterday. Nothing much going on with pessary but sharing a room so not had much (any) sleep. OH's snoring was not helpful. Oh and listening to people scream all night is quite scary!
