I was massively anxious the week before giving birth. On a par with the worst my anxiety has ever been. As soon as I went into the induction suite I was much calmer. for me its the fear of thr unknown and as aoon as something is happeninf, I am . better. Peace, dont worry about the real live baby. Its odd and nerve wracking the first few days then becomes weirdly normal. The worst is the sleep deprivation. Grin. Keeping a v close eye on my own mental state helps. Had a bad week but as I feel good now I tjibk it was "normal" baby blues. Its odd how quickly you adjust.

Lucy90 · 09/12/2014 08:26

My biggest worry is people (SIL!!!!) interfering and trying to take over from me-just the thought makes me anxious and upset :(

CatFaceCrayola · 09/12/2014 09:09

I'm another day time moper and clingy evening wife. Poor DH.

I'm also feeling very on edge and anxious. Both about the birth (or the lack of any signs that it's ever actually going to happen! ) and about the entirely life changing little person that I will soon be responsible for

Eek

carlene1987 · 09/12/2014 09:39

I'm glad I'm not alone in feeling like this. It's a scary thought going from a care free couple to a responsible parent. I'm anxious about the unknown and also bossy family members pushing their opinions onto me. It'll be quite unavoidable especially since its over Xmas when you generally see a lot of family. I will be rehearsing my, "Thanks for the advice but I think I've got it" speech.

39+6 today and feeling a bit off. It's far too easy to sit around and symptom spot but I'm determined to keep my mind occupied. I also think my waters may be leaking so am doing as recommended with a good old sanitary towel and a lie down for an hour to see if anything is actually happening or if it's just my under utilised brain playing tricks for a change.

Putthatonyourneedles · 09/12/2014 10:01

waves hi, due with dc3 06/12 so now 40+3. Going for a vba2c (vaginal birth after two sections), been on annual leave so now I'm getting quite bored. Xmas shopping done, presents wrapped, maternity bag packed, baby clothes washed and ready.

I've had back ache, my pelvis is killing me when I cough(got a cold so not helpful) also has stabbing pains in my foof. Mind you it's the "have you had the baby yet?" Texts that are driving me nuts.

Lucy90 · 09/12/2014 10:10

Hi putthat
Im 38+1 having a girl :)

figginz · 09/12/2014 11:09

Hi all. It's reassuring to hear that you're all as anxious and whiny as I am!

If one more person tells me they thought I was in labour because it took me more than an hour to reply to their sodding text, I think I'll threaten to cut their heart out with a spoon, slowly cry.

Also my cold is getting worse and every time I sneeze a little bit of piss comes out. Charming. And the diesel pumps weren't working in Tesco this morning so now of course I'm paranoid that we're not going to have enough fuel to get to the hospital even though it's only 10mins drive max and we have a third of a tank still

I am Angry at the world, basically

BHLS - sorry you've had a tough week, hope things are looking up now. Have Thanks

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 09/12/2014 12:17

Congratulations Rooner!! Looking forward to hearing all about it when you're ready.

Thanks for the empathy guys :) good to know it's normal to be feeling like this, although I'm sorry everyone else is as well.

I'm in too much pain to walk anywhere not 100% necessary (bed, the toilet, etc) so I guess I'm feeling a bit isolated. I'm going into town on Thursday to meet NCT ladies for coffee, but I'm dreading the walk from the bus stop! Maybe time to look into getting crutches, but ugh. Who was it who was in a wheelchair from the pain? Catface? I've forgotten Sad

We've arranged our pretend Christmas dinners with our families in a couple of weeks, though, which I'm looking forward to.

My plan is water birth and gas and air but what will actually happen i dont know because i really cant cope with pain Confused

CatFaceCrayola · 09/12/2014 17:14

My plan all along has been for a natural hippy birth, but now I'm getting scared!

Yes peace, tis me with the crutches and wheelchair. They have been a saviour really...without them I'd be pretty much housebound. Can manage tiny solo trips with the crutches but need to be accompanied if out in the chair...but it means I'm not trapped.

Although I'm hoping to be back to normal active me asap!

Good luck ziggy, you can do it!

Lucy90 · 10/12/2014 10:14

Another day of being fed up :(

espa · 10/12/2014 10:50

Me too Lucy. Come on babies! Had what I thought were a few cramps during the night and when I woke up, so a bit of wishful thinking on my part. Off out for my wax and the lunch with SIL shortly. This afternoon's task is to do an online Tesco shop and finish Christmas shopping. Oh and get car insurance for my new car coming on Saturday. Smile

figginz · 10/12/2014 10:51

Arg no sleep last night Sad

My father is practical joker. He texted my sister yesterday evening to "announce" birth of my as yet unborn child. She believed him and called at midnight to congratulate us. Woke me and dp up. I then couldn't sleep until after 3am but had to get up at 630.

Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry

Going out to buy alarm clock that is not connected to phone, so we can put phones on silent in the night.

Tired.

Sad
CallingAllEngels · 10/12/2014 11:28

WTF figgins ! WHY would your Dsis call you at midnight? Even if baby had arrived, might you not have better things to do then? Like be feeding/changing nappies or god forbid sleeping! I would be pretty annoyed at anyone who woke me up at midnight for anything other than an emergency!

StetsonsAreCool · 10/12/2014 11:41

Congratulations rooner! And Pom poms for Ziggy!

No news here. Still having regular tightenings across my stomach, which are spreading into period-type cramps, but nothing unbearable. Just wish I knew either way.

Been told to carry on as normal, so I've been to work for our Christmas lunch, to DD's first nativity this morning, and I'm planning to still go to my haircut in the morning unless anything happens overnight.

Lucy90 · 10/12/2014 11:46

Ive tried everything, curry, pineapple, raspberry tea, bouncing on my ball, sex, peppermint foot soak and nothing has worked :( i suppose she will just come out when shes ready but im too impatient to meet her :(
