We were getting perilously close to being full up, hope no one minds!

Love scan pics! Glad you got all measurements sorted Hidingthefear! Fab pics BananaToast, you can see the heart on the second one, fantastic!

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 16/12/2014 13:06

wonderfully clear pictures!

(mine were a mess lol)

TinyTear · 16/12/2014 13:20

I didn't get any pictures last time but hope to get some tomorrow...

going back for the heart and face/lips checks...

Hidingthefear · 16/12/2014 13:36

aww that's brill banana

hope you manage to get the heart and face checked today tiny

The lady that was in there with me today was having exactly the same problem as me, that we had been before and the first attempt this morning didn't work either. The sonographer managed to get what she needed and although couldn't get a "good" picture kindly printed one off for free for her, as you could only see her baby's spine.

I was just glad the waiting room was empty while I was throwing up in the loo! Blush

TinyTear · 16/12/2014 13:40

it's tomorrow
at least it's early in the morning...

and she has been quite active, so reassuring to know she is ok

Hidingthefear · 16/12/2014 13:51

oh yeah, silly me, you clearly said tomorrow. I seem to get seen a lot quicker with a 9 am appointment. could have been in and out in 20mins had he not been camera shy!

after my many threats to start buying baby clothes MiL brought over the first two bags of DD's old clothes for me to go through for bump, I've filled laundry baskets with each

Minstrelle · 16/12/2014 14:12

Just after a bit of advice really, or reassurance that this is normal. Has anyone else found that their weight gain has been quite uneven? I am currently 22 weeks and was weighed at 55kg at my booking appt. About 3 days ago, I weighed 57kg, having generally been around that weight for the last 2 months, but in the last 3 days I appear to have put on 2kg. Which seems a lot in 3 days.

I feel very full all the time and sort of stretched, like I can't fully stand up straight. I'm eating 3 small meals a day, with dinner basically being on a side plate because I can't manage any more. Although can usually squeeze in a chocolate biscuit about 9pm. So I don't think I'm overdoing the food etc. My 20w scan went fine, all measuring ok. Just wondering if all of the above is normal or not really?!

kismac · 16/12/2014 14:33

Lovely scan pictures. When I had mine, baby was very well behaved. Think he was sleeping.

I keep rolling onto my front and baby does not like that. Kicks me loads but that's how I normally sleep. Mr Google has reassured me that the baby is safe and I'll finally stop when I get bigger.

Im constantly starving, so do not dare weight myself. I feel bigger but everyone keeps telling me it's all in my head. Think they just don't want to anger a grumpy pregnant lady.

cinnamongreyhound · 16/12/2014 15:02

I really wouldn't worry Minstrelle, it can be a number of things including hydration, constipation, baby sudden growth, different time of day etc. if you've been sick/nauseous you maybe haven't eaten as much and now you are eating a bit more. Fluid levels change all the time too.

smogsville · 16/12/2014 15:17

Minstrelle your weight stats are similar to mine at both stages (both this preg and last one) and they seem happy with me.

Lauren82000 · 16/12/2014 17:39

When was the last time you went to the loo and are you drinking enough fluids? Have you had a lot of carbs/glutton/dairy those can all have an impact even if you haven't previously had an intolerance. Maybe why you feel full all the time.

BananaToast · 16/12/2014 17:39

Hiding there was someone being very sick in the toilets right next to the waiting room at my scan, felt really bad for her.

Minstrelle I'm not sure about rate of weight gain in pregnancy specifically but it's not uncommon for weight to appear to jump from one day to the next depending on a whole range of factors. I really wouldn't worry. I wish I had a bit of restriction as to how much I could eat at the moment - my friend was as you describe and could only eat very small amounts through the latter stages of her pregnancy and it meant she had almost no weight to lose when the baby arrived. I'm currently putting on about 1lb each week and wish it would slow down a little.

catsofa · 16/12/2014 18:29

This might be useful for people wanting to keep an eye on their weight www.babycenter.com/pregnancy-weight-gain-estimator

I've been trying to weigh myself every morning because the measurements I get are very different from day to day, so I feel like I need a lot of different measurements to see what the average is i.e. roughly what I do actually weigh.

I measured my weight as 150lbs 2 days ago and 144 this morning, I really don't think I've lost weight in 2 days I've just had less fluid or whatever this morning when I got on the scales. But overall I can see that I've put on about 9 or 10 lbs so far, which is about right according to the calculator I linked to above.

I'm not stressing out about relatively minor fluctuations, I don't even think my scales are that accurate!

catsofa · 16/12/2014 18:30

BananaToast I'm sure I read somewhere that a gain of about 1lb per week is exactly right for this stage of pregnancy!

ChickenMe · 16/12/2014 18:43

Lol smog I'm not that bad. It's just DRIFTERS are addictive. Or anything wafer-y. I have to have elevenses-a cuppa and a single finger Drifter. Some days I have had four chocolate bars but today I was strict and had two. So you have the addiction too?
I think OH will buy me that pillow it sounds amazing and it wil stop me thrashing around.

BananaToast · 16/12/2014 18:43

I know it is, it just feels like a lot! And adding it all up means I will end up with a total weight gain of about 27lbs which is in the recommended range but a little bit more than I was hoping for. Not the end of the world I know, I've just always been conscious of my weight and am dreading having to lose the excess after birth.

Hidingthefear · 16/12/2014 18:46

You weren't in Bury were you banana haha. I dread people hearing me coz it's never nice hearing people be sick.

minstrel I wouldn't worry about the weight gain being odd. I get full really quick too and have only been eating things like soup or small meals on a side plate like you say. I assumed it was just that baby was taking up more room so my stomach was a bit squashed.

Minstrelle · 16/12/2014 18:51

You're probably all right, tis probably nothing to worry about, just seemed to be a lot in a short space of time, compared to the previous 21 weeks' of growth/weight gain. It would make sense for the baby to be taking up previous food space - there's only so much room in there. Drinking lots of water so I don't think it's that.

And the small meals thing at the moment is probably helping avoid heartburn, but it's quite annoying too, as I keep making nice food and then not eating it! Plus with Christmas coming up and my gannet family, I'm not going to get my fair share of the good stuff!! Smile

ChickenMe · 16/12/2014 19:54

:| according to that App "you were overweight before the pregnancy" Lol. Oh dear. Grin I see it as a) the baby won't care about a few extra lbs and b) I only want a healthy baby. The rest can wait.

Which is a shame cos when I went for the scan they commented that I was slim. And I was dining out on the "slim" comment for ages!!

Oh well, Ive always been happy with myself anyway. OH and I were going to do Paleo/Primal (morning sickness scuppered that) so we will do it afterwards instead.

Sorry I'm on my phone if that doesn't work, it's much larger than I expected the link to be. Blush It's a good deal if it is the right one.

smogsville · 16/12/2014 20:45

I can't get the link to work on my phone Lauren, sorry. It's shaped like a big letter n and you lie in between the legs iykwim.

Chicken - drifters!! It's been too long.

Banana - if you breastfeed it will all fall off. And you'll find you have to eat loads to stop yourself passing out in hunger. I'm talking cake in the afternoon every day. cheesecake or carrot cake with thick frosting. I can't wait. I was never thinner than when bfing DD and I never ate so much in my life!

Just en route back home from my exercise class. Different teacher today, slightly different routine, fewer squats thank the lord.

cinnamongreyhound · 16/12/2014 21:07

Agree about bfing, I didn't gain any of my pregnancy loss back until they started dropping feeds and I was eating all the chocolate I hadn't while pregnant!

BananaToast · 16/12/2014 21:29

God I hope so smog! Don't want to feel fat and frumpy all summer.
