Its been a while since I posted as work has been crazy but I have finished now...whhhoooooooooooppp!! Christmas could come tomorrow and I'd be good to go!

Have slept ALOT in the last few days so thinking I had been overdoing it, and have been looking forward to resting up, on the down side I caught sight of myself in the mirror wrapping presents and I looked huge! Just have to make sure no one takes any pics of me sitting down this christmas!!

I have pretty much caught up on th thread but can;t remember any of the comments I was planning on making now I am typing...stupid brain! Hope everyones ok and enjoying the wrigglers!!!

catsofa · 21/12/2014 16:43

Well I've had a very easy time of it so far compared with everyone else so hardly feel entitled to moan, but nobody else is here in real life to moan at so I'm going to indulge in a quick one if people don't mind...

Why was it still dark outside at 1pm today?! I've got a snotty nose and sore throat and red itchy eyes and I'm hormonal and crying over a video of people rescuing baby ducks on facebook. Oh and I'm definitely a size 14 now rather than a 12, and frequently feeling a bit claustrophobic stuck in this barrel-shaped body which it's getting a bit trickier to move around in. I don't seem to bend forwards any more, which keeps making me feel stuck in the bath or in bed or on the sofa and it's becoming tricky to get my shoes on. It is far too early for this, what on earth will March and April be like! Shock

On the other hand I don't think I will ever get bored with the wiggling, I can't believe there is somebody in there, clambering around! Makes me Grin every time. Oh look I've cheered up again. Random hormones. I'm off to find some Cake...

catsofa · 21/12/2014 16:45

Here's the ducks video if anyone wants a go...

Yea cooked and left to cold is fine re the prawns acvoring to the leaflet I got from MW. So if I get a bag of frozen prawns and defrost them can I eat them without cooking because they're already pink? Dam it I could have had prains all along :(

Catsofa I had to haul myself up in the bath before, nice to know it's not just me at this early stage, and I'm a size 12 but keep finding my belly gets in the way. Your right though, the little wiggles make it worthwhile.

Nunkie · 21/12/2014 18:31

Hello All!

Just popped in to say a quick pre-Christmas hello ...and wish you luck, Hiding in finding your cat. I know a friend whose cat went AWOL for weeks, then swanned back in like nothing had happened, so don't give up hope yet - but it's horrible not knowing, I know Flowers

Cold cooked prawns should be fine, btw, folks! (It's raw/undercooked shellfish that carry a small risk of toxoplasmosis - the worst precooked ones could give you is 'vanilla' food poisoning - unpleasant for you but not actively harmful to Bump.)

I'll stop right there, or may find myself going on a rant about all the things preggers ladies are instructed never to eat and drink, and what percentage of that is utter crap, or at least unreasonably stringent.

Anyway, hope y'all are going to have a nice relaxing(ish) and nausea-free(ish) Christmas where you get a bit of a pampering from your families.

Me, I'm probably going to be spending a good percentage of the holidays peeing (or at least trying).
Bladder = squished down to size of pea :0)

I'm also having to eat something every hour and a half without fail - cinnamon, no idea how you survived on three biscuits or whatever it was you had had earlier!
(PS: still running too btw. Definitely harder work now tho, hardly ever go more than a mile at a time! Still feeling better for it, mind.)

Anyway, merry Christmas, Mums-n-Bumps :D

BananaToast · 21/12/2014 19:47

Nunkie I feel your bladder pain! I constantly feel like I need to go but hardly anything comes out, so frustrating!

TinyTear · 21/12/2014 20:04

Off to parental land of Portugal tomorrow so might be a bit away for a while... Will keep an eye for a new thread...
Have a great Christmas everyone!

cinnamongreyhound · 21/12/2014 21:51

Meat should be cooked through SquattingNeville, pink means the middle bit hasn't got hot enough.

I don't know anyone who eats a raw prawn Hidingthefear? Xmas Confused

Hope the dizziness passes soon BrixtonBunny!

I'm still doing 4 miles twice a week and parkrun Nunkie, it was mince pies I ate so in fairness quite a few calories but just not very healthy!! Definitely have to eat as soon as I'm hungry though or I do feel sick. I've got some very supportive running friends but I did get s horrible look from a new guy to our parkrun last week which made me feel very uncomfortable Xmas Sad people who know me mostly have stopped commenting now as I'm not going to stop while im feeling ok and they've figured that out now!

Merry Christmas TinyTear!

Ah, bladder problems! I swear, no sooner have I hoiked my rubbish maternity tights back round my waist than I can feel myself wanting to go again! We braved Manchester again today (though it was actually lovely and restored my christmassy feeling) and in the space of 5 hours I went to the loo 6 times! Which, when you're dealing with public toilets is not fun!

I had a brie and cranberry panini today - twas delish! Ever since finding out that cooked brie was allowed ive been itching to get the George Forman out. The cheese ws gorgeously gooey and melted ... nom indeed.

catsofa · 22/12/2014 00:22

Are we allowed to pee in policemen's helmets now we're pregnant?

BonjourMinou · 22/12/2014 07:01

I think in theory, catsofa - why don't you try asking one and report back? Xmas Grin

Lauren82000 · 22/12/2014 07:02

MsWibble might I recommend the festive toastie from M&S. Turkey, bacon and Brie with cranberry. Soooo yummy if your out and about and feeling in a Brie mood.

smogsville · 22/12/2014 07:38

mswibble, I feel you re bladder. Feeling mildly less panicky about sneeze/ cough/ nose blowing accidental leaks now I've empowered myself with panty liners! I defo didn't have to buy those first time around.

Ate so much at lunch yesterday i still feel full now. Tummy ache that defo has nothing to do with baby.

Hiding, hoping for good cat news for you soon.

En route to work and tube is decidedly empty which should be a good thing but actually it's just making me cross ie why am I here when no-one else is.

Siarie · 22/12/2014 09:39

22 weeks today, we're going to need a new thread soon!

Nunkie · 22/12/2014 09:49

Hahah - sympathy/empathy to you banana, and everyone one else on the reduced-bladder-function wagon! (Which seems to be everybody!) I usually - ahem, pardon the expression - piss like a racehorse, so it's so weird and bloody boring only being able to squeeze out a little at a time.

Cinnamon, bugger dirty-looks park run guy! The only warning we got re still running when I went to the NHS childbirth prep class was that it can affect the pelvic floor muscles by this time, so I've addressed this by doing my pelvic floor exercises as I run! Got a bit of a double-take the other day when I was warming down but, to be fair, it was a builder, so he was probably just eyeballing my increased boobage! (I am feeling kind of hot now I'm properly preggers actually, albeit in an incontinent, about-to-burst sort of way! How's everyone else feeling on that score?) Did also get a nice grin from a lady I lumbered past :0D

But I don't know about mince pies being substantial at the mo (even tho I love em)... when I feel the need to eat now it usually has to be something bready and savoury or I end up feeling sick again quite quickly.

Double land-mark yesterday... Him Indoors felt Peanut moving for the first time!

daholster · 22/12/2014 10:58

Hello everyone! All good here, wriggly boy wriggling lots Xmas Grin Birthday was on Saturday and got some beautiful photos of my daughter. And she kept saying "happy to you mummy" all day which made my day! As well as the Frank's Hot wings and Chinese takeaway for dinner! Yum!

Trying to tidy the house and clean for Christmas today with dd. It is taking a looooong time with my little helper in tow!!!

Lost 2kg this week with a bit of a tummy bug. Today I am starving!!!

Dd now knows where the baby is. She still insists its a little sister though. Someone is going to be disappointed!!!

(At 19 months I'm pretty sure she has no idea other than word association but she is volunteering sister now instead of just saying it after brother and it is making me just a little bit sad... Though I'm sure she'll love looking after her little brother Smile )

Long day at work tomorrow, a day of work from dawn til late dinner and then bed... But looking on the bright side then its Christmas eve!!! Got so much to do... Better go!

23+6

smogsville · 22/12/2014 11:41

daholster - I have the same thing with DD (3yo) who occasionally says 'I wanted a sister' but now focuses mainly on her baby brother. I'm glad we found out so she was prepared.

Know what you mean about feeling a bit sad when they say it but I know lots of older sisters who dote on their younger brothers, albeit with much eye-rolling and patronising comments! It will all come right. My sister and I fought terribly when we were growing up (I was quite mean to her and she was a cry-baby - we get on now though).

22+5.

Lauren82000 · 22/12/2014 12:03

So far my bladder of steel is still intact. Me and my friend used to laugh when we went out drinking as I could drink for about 2-3 hours at a time before needing a wee and she was every 10mins. Don't know how long it will last though as sometimes when baby is low and wiggling around feels a little unstable down there but so far so good.

About to attempt some mince pies with DD. Let's see if she can follow instructions properly and not make a mess of them.

kismac · 22/12/2014 12:03

Wishing you luck, Hiding on finding your cat.

Enjoy your Christmas away, Tiny!

Aww, my poor bladder has been taking a battering. Baby seems to like to sit quite low and kick down the way. Oow!

So jealous of all those who are still managing to keep active. The months of sickness meant that its only now I'm considering taking up swimming again, seeing as I finally feel like its under control.

Still getting lots of comments about me not showing Sad. I want my proper baby bump and I want it now! He he!

23+1

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 22/12/2014 12:10

the otherr day my friend's (baby-mad) 8 year old finally found out that I'm pregnant...(when I told my 4 year old off for running into "your baby sister!")

She was wildly excited... and wanted to know why she hadn't been told. I looked down at the huge bump (think I may have kismac's share of bumpage, it's enormous - like I'm about to pop not a few months off :( ) and wondered how... "did you just think I'm getting fatter and fatter in a weird shape?"

yep, she did! Grin Grin Grin

(she's already offered to come and "help" me with the baby and the 2 year old... awwww! she's lovely)

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 22/12/2014 12:15

some arse (was a friend until this) said the other day "you should have got tested for down's syndrome. If your baby has downs, and she probably does as she doesn't move much then it's your own fault!"

well, f* you very much! If this baby does have downs it won't be because she's not a very wriggly baby (neither of her parents are overly active either) nor because I didn't get tested, it's a chromosomal difference, not a reaction to my decision to not check for it ffs! the world is full of arses lately.

Hidingthefear · 22/12/2014 12:42

My post didn't post last night but it would seem cinnamon that i'm a few brain cells short and didn't realise that defrosted pink prawns weren't raw and I could have been eating them all along!! : (

What a ridiculous thing to say to you ewby. some people are just so a) insensitive and b) uneducated. I haven't been tested for it either and I'll have no guilt even if he does have it. it's not even my friend and I feel all enraged on your behalf!

24 weeks today, feels like a milestone seen as it's now "viable"

WTF Ebwy? Angry What kind of friend says that! As far as I know a slightly wiggly baby as apposed to a very wiggly baby is no indication of anything wrong with them. Some babies just don't move that much and there's a whole host of reasons why you might not feel as much as anyone else, non of them related to health issues.

DD wasn't a particularly wiggly baby except for 9pm every night. This one is on and off all day and pretty quiet at night.

I also didn't get tested for Downs with DD or this one. Completely mine and DHs choice as it makes no difference to us. I'm sure having a child with Downs is a challenge but it's not like they can't live a long and fulfilled life just like any other person. Smile
