Oh Lady I'm really sorry, what terrible news. Thinking of you and your partner Flowers

smogsville · 12/12/2014 21:18

Lady you poor thing, what sad news. Wish you all the strength in the world to support your DP.

Lady, such sad news, sorry.
Have they given him any indication of timescales?
How old is he?

Any chance of anything? Alternative therapies? It's not something I know much about, but I'm in a few alternative groups on Fb and occasionally hear about hemp oil being a miracle cure for certain things. It's not something I've looked into though, but throwing it out there in case.

StuntNun · 12/12/2014 22:03

Neville Mobys have a reputation for being too warm for summer time so a Kari-Me would probably be better. A lot of people mention Victoria Slinglady as being cheaper than average. I bought a Wrapsody stretch hybrid which is actually a bit pricier than most stretchy wraps but it can be used with bigger babies and for back carries so I will be able to use it for longer than a regular stretchy.

BananaToast · 12/12/2014 22:05

So sorry to hear your news Lady, my heart goes out to you and DP's family.

LadyNovember · 12/12/2014 22:33

Freedom, they said typically 6 months but it's not that easy to guess a timescale apparently. They have offered him chemotherapy to slow the process down which he seems to be up for. He's 60, he literally only went to the doctors because he had swollen ankles, he's never ill or anything.

Thanks for everyone's support, it's great to have you lot here to talk to xx

FreedomHuntress · 12/12/2014 22:41

Oh geeze, 60 is so young. :(

Sorry about your DP's Dad Lady.

Misty I hope you are ok. I had a heavy bleed at 13/14 weeks and it was so scary. It sounds

ChickenMe · 12/12/2014 23:57

Bloody phone..reassuring what the hospital have said. Rest and be waited on!

Has anyone used "Close Caboo" carriers? Particularly anyone who has had a C Section as I am quite likely to have one and was wondering if some carriers are not suitable?

ChickenMe · 12/12/2014 23:59

PS how are your belly buttons ? Mine is pretty distended and will be inside out soon!

24w at last

So sorry to hear your sad news LadyNovember, hope your shift ends soon and you can get back to your Dh!

Glad to hear that the hospital have seen you and have reassured you a bit Misty414.

I posted this video on the fb group for those asking about stretch wrap slings. I got mine from Victoria sling lady, a second apparently due to some sewing machine problems but looks perfect to me and I only paid £14.50 for it Xmas Grin

Siarie · 13/12/2014 02:12

Catsofa mines Wednesday 9am, couldn't get any sooner as went on holiday at 19 weeks and fly back in Tuesday morning. I didn't fancy going jet lagged lol.

catsofa · 13/12/2014 04:10

Oh wow I'm not the very last one then! I'm the last one due out of three friends pregnant at the same time in real life, so getting used to being just behind everybody else with most things Smile

I only found out yesterday that my belly button is going to pop out. I HATE anything touching my belly button, can't even touch it myself, am having a bit of a flap about it popping out. It's already much shallower than it used to be. Freaks me out just to think about it.

runs away with fingers in ears trying to ignore this upsetting new random pregnancy thing that's going to happen to me AAAAARRRGGGGHHH!

Lauren82000 · 13/12/2014 07:59

Yup definitely have a tummy nose. It's been out for quite a few weeks actually and the surrounding skin is the most worried about for stretch marks as it's pretty tight. (21+3 btw)

Sorry to hear your news Lady, we're in limbo at the moment waiting for news on stepMIL they gave her a month to see if the tumours were shrinking after her treatment, if they haven't it's make her comfortable time if they have then great Smile carry on and get rid.

Also DHs auntie has started her chemo so we should get some results about that in the new year.

lila35 · 13/12/2014 08:12

Such sad news Lady. So sorry to hear.

Rubbish that you've had more bleeding misty, glad you could get it checked and all is looking ok.

Cinnamon, Sounds like they have a plan, still such a worry for you though.

My belly button has been weirding me out for weeks, the only benefit is that its really soft to touch..hahaha!

I'm pretty sure I'm not going to use a sling, I have problems with my neck and shoulders generally pre pregnancy because of my job. I have also ordered some fabric so I can have a cosy toes and changing bag made...its so exciting!!

24+1!!!

TheBooMonster · 13/12/2014 08:42

Woke up this morning in so much pain I couldn't stand from what appears to be a UTI. Went by bus to the walk in centre to find they'd not updated the times on the website and weren't due to open for another two hours. Got home and phones 111 who have sent me to a community hospital which is all a bit scary, especially as they've said to take my hand held notes in case I'm transferred to the main hospital...

Hope it's not too serious boo. Antibiotics for uti tend to kick in super fast so hopefully you'll be feeling better in no time x

smogsville · 13/12/2014 09:38

Boo I hope you don't have to wait too long to be seen you poor thing.

ChickenMe · 13/12/2014 11:31

Oh no boo UTI sounds horrible, hope it gets sorted.

Lol yes belly buttons are freaky when they reverse. I keep touching it though even though it's weird.
