We were getting perilously close to being full up, hope no one minds!

Have been put on a weeks course of antibiotics and 3 days bed rest because she's worried about the levels of white blood cells

FreedomHuntress · 13/12/2014 12:28

Nor mine, Squatting. And this bump is feeling even smaller than with DS, so may not again.

Boo, hope you feel better soon.

last time around if I sat in the right position I could flex my stomach muscles and pop my belly button in and out.. it stayed in unless I did it on purpose though!

Hidingthefear · 13/12/2014 16:38

Not sure where to view the stats freedom, sorry I'm a noob lol I've got to go back for another anomaly scan on Tuesday because they couldn't see the heart or face despite 3 attempts.

I've neve been able to see the end of my belly button and it only seems a little shallower. I'm not liking the idea of it popping out :/ I also don't have the dark line yet, does anyone else?

RiverRocks · 13/12/2014 16:49

My belly button is definitely shallower, I've got moles in it that are usually quite deep and they're popping out. Another indignity of pregnancy! Your party trick made me giggle, Ebwy.

Hiding I haven't got a line, but I've got a darker patch next to my belly button, looks like a bruise. Midwife said it's nothing to worry about.

Sorry to hear you're feeling ill Boo. I love when they say bed rest - I manage a day at most before I'm climbing the walls. Better find some catch up tv and a good book Xmas Grin

TheBooMonster · 13/12/2014 16:55

river I'm not sure how I'm meant to be resting with a 2 year old, but at the very least I'm avoiding work. DH has been home today, so he took over toddler duty, and MiL is taking her tomorrow, hopefully come Monday I won't feel like my abdomen is shredding when I try and pick her up...

belly button is most definitely an outty now... I'll take bump pics next time I can stand upright >.

minipie · 13/12/2014 16:57

Chicken I have a close caboo, I didn't use it much last time for various reasons but from what I recall, where it sits is quite high up so should be pretty well out of the way of any c section scar. It's great for newborns, not so good once the baby gets past about 11/12lb though as the fabric starts to sag. I think some of the buckle carriers have waist bands so you'd want to be quite careful about those with a c section.

My belly button never popped out last time, admittedly I only got to 34 weeks but I was pretty large. I too have a very deep one usually.

So sorry about your father's diagnosis LadyNovember.

StuntNun · 13/12/2014 17:07

Chicken I'm having a section so I have a ring sling which doesn't put any pressure on the abdomen and can be used right up to pre-school age. I also have a stretchy - yes they are a daunting length but you only have to tie them on once in the morning and you can pop baby in and out when you want. You can have the waist bit quite high with a small baby and tie the knot at the back to avoid putting pressure on your abdomen.

Lauren82000 · 13/12/2014 17:20

Don't know about the line, I got one last time and it was still there faintly when I got pregnant this time. So it lasted more than 3 years. Although only at the bottom the one above my belly button went pretty quick.

I think it's still there below my belly button but much fainter than before I got pregnant. It's a bit difficult to tell if it's faint line or seam indent from my pants Blush

My moles are darker and more have popped up so maybe the pigment thing is coming out that way instead.

cinnamongreyhound · 13/12/2014 19:05

Sorry to hear you were in so much pain TheBooMonster but glad you've got treatment, hope it works soon!

A link to the stats thread is in the first post of the thread I believe Hidingthefear Smile

I didn't get an outie with my other pregnancies so we shall see this time.

We got our Christmas tree finally today, just waiting for dh to install the dishwasher and then we'll decorate it hopefully

smogsville · 13/12/2014 20:43

Boo, take care, lots of lying down or as much as poss with a 2yo. Your DH will do his bit.

I'm thick with cold, so is DH and DD. It's my fault for boasting that I never get them. Bought some totally pointless lemon and menthol lozenges from Boots just to make myself feel better as obvi can't have anything proper. Honey lemon ginger yawn. I am fantasising about lemsip.

Backache too now, hooray!

This is a big old moan of a post. Apologies one and all. Resolve to be less self-indulgent tomorrow.

smogsville · 13/12/2014 20:50

A quick qu re bump moisturising with a view to avoiding stretch marks.

Last time I used bio oil but I have so many moisturisers at home and just wondered if anyone thinks there is anything massively special about the bio oil?

Don't really feel like shelling out if regular moisturiser might do the same job...

Thanks.

StuntNun · 13/12/2014 21:00

None of the creams do anything Smog, in fact they aren't allowed to because if they did work they would have to be licensed as medicines. It's all down to genetics and how quickly you put on weight.

I third that. The mw told me it's pot luck if you get stretch marks or not. (Are you prone to them already? If so your pretty much guaranteed to get more) I didn't get any last time but like the others I do moisturise every other night. (Every day makes it greasy despite My skin being really dry at the moment) so I'm doing it mainly for that and it's soothing when my bump and boobs feel particularly stretched. I use soap and glory body butter mainly because I was bought it and I wouldn't use it otherwise, not particularly find of the smell but it needs using up. (Shh don't tell DH I don't like itWink)

Lauren82000 · 13/12/2014 21:33

Fond* damn auto correct

FizzyBubbly · 13/12/2014 21:47

Just caught up after a couple of days away from MN

Sorry to hear the scan confirmed your boys kidney problem Cinnamon, but to echo the others he will be in good hands which work wonders these days. Still must be very scary for you.

Sorry to hear your news as well Lady, thoughts are with you and your family and I hope he gets to see his grandchild.

Hope the antibiotics work their magic Boo, UTI's are horrible at the best of times let alone when you're pregnant.

On the subject of belly buttons, I've always had what I've suspected to be a slight umbilical hernia. Had an outie as a child which slowly became flat but never became an innie. Popped out properly at 6weeks during my first pregnancy and never went back in so I've had a permanent 'nose' on my tummy for the last 2 years Confused As this will be our last DC I will look into getting the hernia confirmed and repaired after the birth (no point having the surgery until you've finished having children) and maybe look into having a cheeky tummy tuck at the same time!

smogsville · 13/12/2014 22:16

Thanks for the news re bio oil people! Didn't get any stretch marks last time so I will now be able to be lazy this time around safe in the knowl that it makes no diff.

I will probably slap some cream on for the hell of it when bump becomes more of a bump and less of a flabby tummy but only if I can summon up the effort and energy (unlikely, come to think of it).

BananaToast · 13/12/2014 23:32

I'm using bio oil just in case it has any influence on things (even though I'm pretty sure it doesn't!). My belly button is still an inny but is slightly shallower and a bit stretched at the top. It's quite deep usually so not sure if it will likely pop.

Had a lovely evening with some friends tonight sharing news about the sex and a few of them felt some kicks. There were lots of name suggestions (most ridiculous from the boys) but it was so nice to see everyone so happy and excited for us. This little boy is definitely going to be loved!

Lauren82000 · 14/12/2014 07:09

Had a name conversation with DH yesterday. I rattled a load off and he said he didn't mind any of them then went on to say he really liked one of my boy names. Smile Just got to see eye to eye on the middle name issue now. He thinks they should have some meaning or not have one at all. I told him it will give the child a complex if they don't have one. Doesn't help that he is one of 3 brothers and the only one with a middle name.
So now I have to come up with a middle name that goes and has some relevance. Confused (Yes DH really is that lazy and it's all me that picks names, I did DDs name too)

FizzyBubbly · 14/12/2014 07:11

Used both bio oil and and assortment of other lotions last time but the stretch marks still appeared, very annoyingly at 39 weeks. Thought I'd gotten away with it, bastards! Angry

Hopefully won't get any more this time, but am now using Funshi Organic Rosehip Oil which I heard about on the S&B threads ages ago. Bought it for use on my face instead of a moisturiser as it gets rave reviews for that, but the bottle mentions scars and stretch marks so thought I'd give it a whirl on the bump!

TinyTear · 14/12/2014 07:24

Felt a kick from the outside for the first time just now. Next time might see if DH can feel it...

23+1

kismac · 14/12/2014 08:34

Sorry to hear about your news Lady.

Hope you feel better soon Boo.

Don't think my belly button will pop. It's very deep. It has got larger which is kinda freaky.

I keep forgetting to moisturise, so lazy but hoping I don't get too many stretch marks.

I woke up at 7.30 cause I was hungry. So much for my lie in. Pregnancy sucks.

Lauren82000 · 14/12/2014 09:51

Lie in, what's a lie in? Eventually you will be that sleep trained that you wake at every noise and if you sleep for half an hour past your normal wake up you get a headache and feel rubbish all day.
Yer I'm not bitter about the lack of sleep at all. Hmm
