We were getting perilously close to being full up, hope no one minds!

daholster I understand where you're coming from with being reluctant to take paracetamol, that is how I feel, but I gave in earlier on MW instructions and it knocked me right out. I think in your extreme sounding circumstances I'd take some tonight so you can get a good night's sleep. Hope you feel better soon.

Am still feeling vomity - ughhh!!! Envy

daholster · 09/12/2014 22:05

Maybe I am being a bit silly. Thanks guys Flowers

Rusty I hope you feel better soon too.

Siarie · 10/12/2014 01:35

I've taken paracetamol for sinus headaches and migraines so far. It does help but not that much because it isn't anti inflammatory.

You need to massage your sinuses

Thanks siarie. I watched that. Its mainly ny cheek one so I am trying it. Unfortunately my nose isn't running lot which (according to Dr Google!) means the sinus is plugged up Hmm so will have to work on trying to loosen it up today... Wonder how dd will manage not to destroy the house while I try and steam?... Most of what is coming out of my left nostril (tmi!!! Sorry!) is bloody today so maybe things are moving... I hope so! Certainly explains a little why it hurts so much!

Just took some paracetamol to try to manage the day on my own with dd, fingers crossed! Ginger is a good anti inflammatory as is turmeric so might stiff some of that down me today too.

Hope everyone feeling rubbish feels better soon!

Daholster, do try sterimar salt water wash. It unclogs everything... I love it. And it's natural and gentle suitable for pregnancy

OneDayLikeThis2013 · 10/12/2014 08:14

Hi all

Sorry I've been AWOL for the last week or too. My mums partner had a horrible car crash on Friday evening and is in hospital. Lots and lots of broken bones and a minimum 6 month recovery. 2014 really has been the worst year for us.

I'm absolutely full if cold and have a chesty cough. I've been taken about 4 paracetamol a day and using snuffle babe at night but it's so pants we can't take anything else!

On a plus side, Baby has been going bonkers the last couple of days and DH felt his first kick yesterday. It was so strong hand his face is something I'll always remember. He quickly went and made a mark on the calendar so he'll always remember the date.

Anyway, am off sick again today so will read back and catch up xx

cinnamongreyhound · 10/12/2014 08:17

So sorry to hear that OneDayLikeThis2013, here's to a better 2015!

daholster · 10/12/2014 08:35

tiny today is my last chance to Christmas shop so as long as the paracetamol does good enough work I'll hunt some of that down. The relief of flushing ot all out would be wonderful...!

one-day how awful. Thank goodness it wasn't worse

daholster · 10/12/2014 08:37

Ok phone chopped half the post off! Sorry - I was going to say that if with all those injuries it have been quite a serious accident so thank goodness it wasn't worse. Wishing him a speedy recovery. And you!

BananaToast · 10/12/2014 08:50

Sorry to hear that OneDay, hoping for a quick recovery for him. Lovely about your DH feeling movement though. I've been noting down all milestones in my phone - first time I felt movement, first kick DH felt, first hiccups.

smogsville · 10/12/2014 09:02

OneDay, sorry to hear about your mum's partner, what a shock for you all, wishing him a speedy recovery.
That's lovely news about the baby going bonkers. I would say this last week has been a movement turning point for us too.

Daholster - I've also defo taken para for less.

Rusty - commiserations re the vom. I haven't had any so I think those that do are so brave and well done for soldiering on.

Misty - I'm getting backache at work too, it's only when I sit down for long periods so not quite the same as yours but I am going to buy a hot water bottle to see if that eases it. I'm only PT and boss has been through the mill a bit this year so trying not to miss any days as I've been lucky enough to feel basically fine other than tiredness. Also work can be a bit of a break from running after DD (what a thing to admit to...).

21 days today. Scan on Friday.

londonlivvy · 10/12/2014 09:08

I've not felt bad about taking paracetamol (within recommended dosage, of course) when my back / pelvis v sore. I honestly think it's fine (certainly dd came out ok). I shall need to embrace both caffeine and paracetamol today after sleeping on the floor in dd's room last night as she was so miserable with cold/snot/teeth. I say sleep. That rather overstates the experience. She woke me at least five times between 1130 and 5. My hips and neck hurt and I'm shattered

Lucky she's cute and I love her.

Hidingthefear · 10/12/2014 09:13

I'm with you rusty still vomiting daily and I'm beginning to lose hope that it will end. Trying not to let it ruin my babymoon holiday though. It's defo putting me off giving this one a brother or sister in the future!

Good news on the b12 ladynovember should make you feel much better. I used to have them every 12 weeks and it defo made me feel better. Maybe I should push it to be checked with my Dr.

What a terrible year oneday hope 2015 brings much better fortune for you all!

monkey2014 · 10/12/2014 10:19

Only made it to page 14 but Bonjour my bump is like yours!

kismac · 10/12/2014 10:20

Daholster, I've heard that gently brushing your teeth can help too.

Aww One Day, that's horrible. Fingers crossed for a speedy and smooth recovery.

So I'm a bad mum. Consultant swapped my anti sickness pills but they weren't working, so im back on the original pills as they actually helped. Pills were swapped to ones where there has been more research but nothing is risk free. Now getting abuse from husband and mum. I can't carry on being this sick, so I need to take the pills but they are making me feel like a monster.

Ah I see Misty. Apols for the crap suggestion in that case.

kismac - you know your own body and what you can reasonably be expected to tolerate. You have all our support. Try to put their comments to one side and take care.

In other - and by contrast v unimportant - news I am going to try to return my new topshop mat jeans as they went ridiculously baggy on legs and bum after one day's wear. They are the Leigh style which I normally wear no probs. I have receipt but obviously all tags off. Do you reckon they will do an exchange on that basis? I'm thinking smaller size/ different style? It's within 28 days.

I'd say they weren't fit for the purpose for which they were sold, so go for it, Smogs

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 10/12/2014 11:09

MelODrama

I'm mentally ill (depression, and anxiety disorders) and have some physical issues... people thought I'd never be able to cope with one child. My kids are happy and healthy. Bollocks to those who say you won't cope!

Just imagine patting him on the head and saying "who's a silly geriatric, then? YOU ARE!" (obviously don't really do that, unless you want to cause a problem! lol)

LadyNovember · 10/12/2014 11:27

Sorry to hear about your mums partner oneday, hoping for a speedy recovery for him. What a pants time of year to happen as well.

Thanks hiding, although if the docs could actually give me an appt to have said injections, I'd be a bit more optimistic haha. Apparently they are fully booked..helpful!

Don't feel bad smog, you know what's right for your body and your baby will certainly do better if you can manage to stay fed and hydrated! Can you not ring your consultant as explain and see if he's happy for you to continue with the old pills? It's no good the new ones being "better researched" if they're crap!

Had my anomaly scan this morning..everything looks perfect and baby was an angel! Although he wouldn't stop munching his hand to get a good face picture, but it's okay, cause I love it anyway! Grin she also confirmed he's definitely a boy.."not shy" were her words haha! Oh and his legs are measuring almost 23w so looks like he'll be tall!

Will attach scan picture and bump picture hopefully!
