We were getting perilously close to being full up, hope no one minds!

Round ligament pain smog? I've had the same for ages now and have to brace myself every time I sneeze.

smogsville · 09/12/2014 12:41

Thanks guys. Just happy to know it's normal! I'll take it over the inadvertent sneeze-wee any day...

BananaToast · 09/12/2014 12:45

Oh god I am really dreading that. Is it inevitable? Been doing my pelvic floor exercises but worry it is going to happen anyway.

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 09/12/2014 13:06

I'm '74 vintage!

I was 36 when I had my eldest... lost another, had my youngest, now this one. I was "advanced maternal age" and fat, and already had hypertension and a whole host of other medical conditions...

all high risk, both my boys I had "textbook simple" pregnancies with... (if we don't count the compulsory caesarians at the end) but they keep insisting I'm going to develop complications and it hasn't happened yet!

smogsville · 09/12/2014 13:59

Banana - my pelvic floor is shall we say less sturdy than most to start with because of my weird spinal condition so it won't necessarily happen to you! It's why I've managed to bag myself sections though so I don't mind.

ChickenMe · 09/12/2014 14:19

Hi inshock, I'm 38 so am dipping my toe into geriatric territory (quoted from my boss who luckily I get along withGrin). My midwife doesn't seem bothered about my age though. Ive got three fibroids and they aren't massively bothered about that either.
I am effing knackered though. I don't know if that is age or just pregnancy. Knackered but can't sleep due to needing a piss constantly.
Chatting to colleagues, difficult pregnancies and labours don't seem to be age related. Oh don't they love to tell you about their awful birth experiences when you're preg. Shock
My cousin in law had pre-eclampsia and a high NT on her first pregnancy and she was a teenager!

Rustyzilla · 09/12/2014 14:45

Welcome back inshock.

Sounds like a lot of us are going through the mill a bit lately with either sickness or extra consultant/MW appointments Flowers

I have had a couple of days of fun. Yesterday I had to call hospital as I panicked about feeling reduced movement. Two hours of laying on my left side and drinking ice water did provoke a bit if a wriggle, but what actually sent baby back to disco mode was a mince pie! So panic over. Until today. Now I have just been sent home from work with stomach pains and nausea, MW wants me to take paracetamol (which this far I had avoided) and rest to see if it eases pain. I googled it and am now worried I have preeclampsia! Confused

Google is not my friend!

smogsville · 09/12/2014 15:15

Rusty! I had the same on Sunday panic panic then ate three mini mince pies when tidying up after party, lay down and baby was all over the shop!

Mince pies = the answer to everything.

Rustyzilla · 09/12/2014 15:40

smog that is so true! Grin

smogsville · 09/12/2014 15:53

Sorry about the tummy pains Rusty.

If it makes you feel any better, on about month 2 of TTC this baby I was convinced I had all the symptoms of the early menopause, good old Google.

Siarie · 09/12/2014 16:59

When I sneeze (sometimes not all the time) I get a massive whack from the baby. So that might be what you felt smog lol! It's painful. Ligament pain feels different.

FizzyBubbly · 09/12/2014 17:14

Have tried to ignore the mince pies in the shops so far but think I might have to give in and get some now!

Maybe they'll cure the ligament pain some of you are getting? Worth a try?!! Grin

FreedomHuntress · 09/12/2014 17:14

LadyNovember, we take an oral spray like this for B12 - www.amazon.co.uk/BetterYou-Boost-Oral-Spray-25ml/dp/B0072D7GPA. I've not been advised I have a deficiency, but take it as a back up just in case. Much of the food we eat as a family is fortified with B12, so I think we are probably ok without it, but it's a security.

Inshock, I'm 40, so there are a handful of us of the '73/'74 vintage here! I really don't feel old though. Midwife didn't make me feel old either.

Back from our London trip, bought DD her first item of clothing. A pair of pants (for going over nappies). Adorbs! We use reusables, so I'll have to find some that aren't bulky.

kismac · 09/12/2014 17:16

I'm high risk too! Woo! But that's because of a medical condition not age.

Baby will no longer let me sleep too far onto my front. I sleep on my side but sometimes roll onto my front a bit. If I do, the baby kicks lumps out of me. Also, baby has been kicking down low and it is very weird. I will not be letting anyone feel those movements. Ha ha.

smogsville · 09/12/2014 17:19

Fizzy, good point, I'd better have a mince pie just in case it is ligament pain.

Siarie I reckon that might be it - I was like a punch or a kick and it really hurt! Don't remember that with DD. This boy child is already proving boisterous. I've sneezed 10+ times today and it's only happened once.

daholster · 09/12/2014 20:00

Another high risk here! Ileostomy and HHT. So far so good though! Hello shock Smile

I've worried about movements now but he's wriggling a little bit now.

My face is absolutely killing me. Jaw is the worst, hurts to chew... Then teeth, then maybe eye then ear... I'm thinking dd in bed then me in bed! Dh isn't home yet, he'll have to tidy and make himself some dinner... I had egg bacon and tomatoes on toast!!! With dd who had peas and tomatoes with left over sausages. A very successful dinner all round... But now I need bed, not changing that pooey nappy that has just happened and doing a bath for her! It's far too late for her already, I'd better get on with it...

TinyTear · 09/12/2014 20:24

Kismac I've also had stupidly low kicks. So painful

cinnamongreyhound · 09/12/2014 20:41

Don't lurk or worry about boring us join us Inshock73, I can't join you in being in my 40's but my Dh is 48.

I have pain on my left side when I pick up ds2 now smogville, kind of along the line of my hip, so I've stopped! He's 4 and a bit so can cope without being held by me.

No it's not BananaToast, I've had natural births with two large babies and even since I've been pregnant I haven't had any accidents.

I'm definitely more tired this time around ChickenMe, putting it down to age as I was working similar hours doing the same work when I had ds2.

Try not to worry Rustyzilla!

My baby jumps at loud noises now! It's happened a few times, first time with DH chopping on our glass board and then my mum dropped something Grin

daholster · 09/12/2014 20:43

My face hurts so much Sad I could just sit and cry! Thinking about giving in to the paracetamol... Sad Sad Sad

cinnamongreyhound · 09/12/2014 20:43

Go to bed daholster, and visit the Dr tomorrow!

smogsville · 09/12/2014 20:48

daholster I've had two lots of para in this pregnancy. Headaches that just wouldn't shift.

For some reason in first preg I didn't worry about para, I thought it was absolutely fine. Don't know if advice has changed subtly in last 3 yrs or I'm just a bit more aware this time around?

Sorry you're in pain. Would a hot Ribena help?

BrixtonBunny · 09/12/2014 21:23

My doctor told me paracetamol is fine daholster, so I would definitely take some with hot Ribena as others have suggested. Take paracetamol every 4 hours for a day or so and hopefully you'll feel better xx

In my pjs, trying lying on my right to drain this sinus, is blatantly left maxillary, it absolutely kills to open my mouth, horrid to bend over, I want to lie down but it hurts more... Shame average course of sinusitis is 2 or 3 weeks with or without sinusitis!!! smogs I think its supposed to be ok til last trimester and then it's only if you take it lots... It's about protecting their kidneys if I remember rightly. I'd just rather not take it if I don't need it.

cinnamon I think Dr will say wait til at least a week, it started with a cold so is probably viral... I really want it gone by Christmas!!! Xmas Sad

daholster · 09/12/2014 21:25

brixton thank you. I might take some to help me sleep.

BananaToast · 09/12/2014 21:27

Thanks cinnamon, that's good to hear!

daholster I understand not wanting to take paracetamol where you can manage without, but it sounds like you're really suffering. I've taken it once or twice this pregnancy for less than what you are experiencing, I would definitely have some in your position. It's said to be perfectly safe so no need to suffer needlessly.
