We were getting perilously close to being full up, hope no one minds!

Dh announced when he got in from work tonight that I look quite pregnant, I think that's good!!

daholster · 05/12/2014 22:32

cinnamon that is good Smile

We swaddled Kaitlin in her crib with cotton and merino swaddle wraps until she got clever enough to get her arms out and always get her arms out to sleep with them above her head! It was super hot when she was tiny - 33 degrees etc and sometimes we couldn't get the bedroom under 27... These days even teeny she slept in just a short sleeved vest. She had cloth nappies which were huge. Napping in the day with no clothes just an enormous nappy... So cute... Happy memories... Hopefully lots of adventures to come Smile

Wish I could find the photo of her flat on her back frog legs in a big"Parp! Pong!" comic strip nappy... On our broken hard drive I think Sad Will have to keep looking... Is there any wonder the tots bots easy fit nappies leaked?!?! We should have got some teeny fits...

My DH said my belly was big last night too. Maybe we all had a small growth spurt. Wink

Hidingthefear · 06/12/2014 07:46

Thanks everyone. The sleeping bag defo seems like a good idea to stop him wriggling under the covers. Maybe I'll get a small sleeping bag fromasda like someone suggested and use it once he's big enough and learn how to swaddle first. I wasn't sure if a sleeping bag would be too warm in april?.
I got some clothes from vertabaudet and a free bag with one of my bounty pack vouchers :) they should be there when I get back from hol so might order a sleeping bag from them too.

Most baby monitors have a thermometer integrated, Mel (if you are getting a baby monitor of course!) x

cinnamongreyhound · 06/12/2014 13:06

I think it depends on if you have your heating on at night, nights are still pretty chilly in April. We have 0.5 and 2.0 tog sleeping bags and mine were in one all year apart from the few days/weeks of super hot days we get. Much better for night feeds with an April baby than a September one!

Ours will be in a cot, hoping to get mine back from my friend. Get a second hand Moses basket Misty414 then if it doesn't last long it won't matter :)

Lauren82000 · 06/12/2014 13:27

Misty don't forget you can sell it afterwards and you'll get some money back

londonlivvy · 06/12/2014 13:47

or misty you can buy a crib. about 40 quid new. suitable from 0-approx 6 months and small enough to fit in your bedroom?

Siarie · 06/12/2014 13:52

We're getting the hammock I linked a while ago. I prefer it to a Moses basket as it looks more modern and apparently mimics the womb.

Still waiting for my 20 week scan before we start buying all the big stuff. 17th of December so not so long to go now.

We will probably stick with our moses basket then move to the cot in the nursery when he outgrows it. (approx 3-4 months, I know you're not supposed to move to own room until 6 months, but this just wasn't feasible for us and DD was fine once moved to her own room.)

I think we're going to get a cosleeper and use the pram carrycot as a Moses basket when we're in the living room.

cinnamongreyhound · 06/12/2014 15:43

We didn't have a monitor and don't plan to this time. I bought a gro egg with ds2 which was lovely and had a free thermometer with one of our grobags for ds1.

I think with rooms you have to do what suits you. My dh would never sleep with a baby in our room and we decided to put them in their own room straight away, although we do have space for a cot in our room (3 storey house so large bedrooms!).

Siarie · 06/12/2014 16:28

Ive got the gro bag egg on the list but also going to get this:

mimobaby.com as I want to make sure breathing is ok and I like that it goes to an app on your phone.

Hidingthefear · 06/12/2014 17:42

I think we're going to have a moses basket on my dresser for the first few months and then someone suggested when moving to his own room putting the moses basket into the cot before putting them in the cot itself at about 6 months.
A colleague offered me her moses basket, baby bath and bottle steriliser but I'm tempted to buy my own moses basket rather than just a new mattress although I don't want to seem ungrateful in turning down free stuff.Hmm

Wineandchoccy · 06/12/2014 18:30

We have bought the pram today, eek it all feels very real now we have done some proper baby shopping!
We have got the Silver Cross Pioneer in Black, it's £600 RRP but we went to the Silver cross outlet shop in Bradford and got a refurbished chassis with new carrycot + pushchair for £400. I'm excited now and can't wait to push baby out in it.

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 06/12/2014 18:44

my cosatto giggle buggy/pram arrived yesterday... no idea where on earth we're going to store it!

(asked his parents, they just made noises about not having enough space for the one they have there already for their 3 year old grandson - they are using one bedroom in a 3 bedroom house, FFS! Haven't set eyes on any of my family for 3 years now so they're out)

ChickenMe · 06/12/2014 20:38

Quick one - Lansinoh is currently on offer-£3 off in Sainsburys. It's quite expensive normally and you only get a small tube.
