Just had a chat with Lucy5 and we decided that the old thread was getting too long and taking forever to load so here's a new one for all of us.

Hope everyone's well, nothing to report from me, everything's going smoothly still so far.

Not long now until we get the first of the birth announcements!!

Morning all, hope you had a good weekend!
Redlorry- I have a lovely blanket with a silky side that dd had as a present- I'll ask the person who gave it to her where they got it from.
Hope you're feeling better, BWB and Catkins.
I have come into work early today (hence me being on here before 9am!) and have just sat at my desk, logged on to mn and eaten two great big fat tea cakes. The office smells divine!

I am cooking like a demon at the moment- trying to fill the freezer with meals for when ds comes. I make all of my dd's meals so I have Annabel Karmel cookbook in full force at the moment. It really helped to have nice home made food in the freezer when she was born so I am trying to do the same this time. Quite tiring though!
Have a nice day.

Thanks DAF that would be realy helpful.

Found a silky green bear blanket in JJMB shop yesterday - snobby cashier asked if I wanted it cut off packaging for DD - explained DD was 3, had her own in her hand and had, in fact, just chosen it for bump. So cashier said it was more of a teether than a comforter and tried to sell me a green rabbit (wilth no silky bits), which she would have to order me as they only stocked pink and blue. Explained DD wanted to buy it now so she tried to sell me the bear again - to which I replied 'no thanks not if it's a teether' and we left the shop without buying anything - her facec was a picture! That's two bad experiences with that place, one mail order and now a live one.

Morning all,

Feeling pants today, no idea why, went to bed early last night due to feeling exhausted and am still feeling as bad today, might just write the day off and watch TV

Loulou000 · 09/10/2006 11:37

Hello everyone, hope you had good weekends. I'm indescribably weary today too, and have to interview for my replacement this afternoon!

Is not lazy, Baretoes, is good common sense! Your bump needs you to lie still and eat chocolate.

lubella · 09/10/2006 11:59

Hi all,

Good to hear everyone is in (reasonably ) good spirits. Redlorry I have a Pumpkin Patch near me and it is a beautiful shop, lethal to go in though as the baby stuff is impossible to resist.
I found some seriously amazing stuff at my local NNS on Saturday, I bought 3 baby Dior velour babygrows that will make my little boo look edible! one is bright pink and they are all very girly but if predictions are wrong my little boy will go in them I don't care!!!Seriously those sales are amazing.
Everyone is busy baking and cooking, can't wait until I am off next month doing the same all day - I just want out of here (the office) now so restless it's unbelievable...

Morning everyone. I am having another boy. Quite pleased actually although two problems (i) have to think of another boy's name (v hard - had summit meeting last night with Dh and down to a list of 5 but still not happy with any of them) (ii) will never get to dress my boys up in girly frocks and put there hair in pigtails. Well, I might try every now and then but DH likely to get narked. Sod it. He won't be around when I'm on maternity leave!

bewilderbeast · 09/10/2006 12:36

Wish me luck girls am off to the bloody awful doctor to try and get signed off for a while. Am now on my tenth day off work sick in two and a half weeks, i hate this cold. Keep ending up in tears I feel so crap, don't know if that's hormones or what. Even forgot to pay the cleaner this morning and felt like a total idiot. Must put teacakes on my shopping list

DiamondsAreForever · 09/10/2006 13:05

Redlorry- this is where my dd's beautiful blanket was from- I thought they were a chain but they're not I'm afraid. (I am assuming that you are in London by the JJMB message- I have also given up on them too!)
twinkle twinkle The shop is in Shrewsbury and I am moving there in the new year, I feel my credit card itching at the prospect already!
I have also just had my request for home working refused (the plan was to escape London for the country and me to carry on working) I am really annoyed as it's taken ages to get considered and I had my hopes up. So it looks like I've only got 5 weeks left at work then will have the longest holiday known to man!
So weirdbird, I hope you have just written off today as I have spiritually joined you watching daytime TV (and eating a double decker) I can't be bothered to do anything else now!!!

becs21 · 09/10/2006 13:59

just to let every1 know that knew bout the leaking i had it was nothing im haveing a very healyth baby girl

Baretoes · 09/10/2006 14:02

Morning all - I woke this morning absolutely DYING to be on maternity leave and I can't actually believe that for the first time in my working life, I will actually have a 'stopping work date'. My head just wants to watch TV, eat lovely things and generally be a lazy old bag who does nothing but things that she wants to do!

I can't believe JJMB - your poor DD! How could a straight forward sale go so wrong?!?!

Redlorry75 · 09/10/2006 14:59

Hey everyone - thank for the blankets advice. Have e-mailed Twinkel Twinkle in the hope they might have what I am looking for and agree to send me it....? I live in hope.

have just come back from the midwife with a glowing report of perfect BP, perfect baby heart rate, clear wee - best report I've had all PG! which i take as proof that being off work is doing me good.

Consultant and 32 wk scan next Monday and return to work on Tuesday. Have MW again on Wednesday to see what work has done to my BP after just one day - and if no good MW says I am being signed off untill I hit 36 weeks!

Redlorry75 · 09/10/2006 15:20

I was going to spend DD's quiet time on MN but she has jsut come up to me wrapped in her fleecy blanket saying she's chilly and asking for a cuddle and then for me to sit with her and watch Thomas (the tank engine) can't refuse her now can I.
Speak to you all later.
X

Anyone up for a milo date tonight???

I had a delicious Lasagne from Pizza Express today for my lunch,

Special K and Muesli for dinner...YAY.. I love cereal for dinner..nothing nicer really.Especially when I'm having one of my flushes!

Calmriver · 09/10/2006 16:20

Weird Bird---

Sorry you're not feeling good, will have to pick up so we can have another 'clean-up'

I am shattered now though, so a sit down doing absolutely nothing sounds really appealing!

Diners · 09/10/2006 16:23

Hi all
i have had a good day for a change apart from having a mad hour and cleaned upstairs. The hoover nearly killed me. I have a midwife appointment on wednesday which im really looking forward to as its the first one ive had since my booking appointment. I cant believe they let you go so long without checking on you. Really upset i missed that live birth program did she have it??
Di

judemum · 09/10/2006 16:44

I didn't watch the program- actually thought it might make me feel a bit worried and/or queasy and/or over emotional. But sort of intrigued to know what happened...

Gloria42 · 09/10/2006 16:47

Hi. I watched the 2nd half of the programme, expecting gratuitous gore and screaming women, but it was actually well done (I felt). Only saw the caesarean birth but was in floods of tears all the way through. As a first-timer it kinda brought home what's happening (had just got my head around being pregnant - being a mum is stil unimaginable!)
PS Calmriver, I don't know what I'm having so you can't add me to your list (although my paperlady says it's a girl cos I'm "all bump"?!

judemum · 09/10/2006 16:55

yup- think that would have been me in floods of tears too. Considering I sobbed and sobbed at the end of Green Card the other night (remember 90's romcom with Andi McDowell and Gerard Depardieu?) I would have been hopeless watching it. Glad to know it was tasteful as the concept is a bit tasteless I think- wouldn't want my sunroof aired on national tv live....

Gloria42 · 09/10/2006 17:01

Never heard it called a sun-roof before!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Calmriver · 09/10/2006 17:11

There was only a CS born on TV live last night, there were no ordinary's as they had just missed one...timing of these things isn't the easiest!!!I got all teary and worried at one point. When the baby(Caleb) started crying I saw the relief in my DD's eyes and she grinned and said 'YAY Baby cying!!!' that made me all teary again..it was so sweet. She looked genuinely concerned when the baby wouldn't cry. At 2, it makes you wonder what they are thinking.

judemum · 09/10/2006 17:12

really?! I was always told you either have your babies out the door or the sunroof!!!

Eliboo · 09/10/2006 17:14

Hi everyone,

Not yet had time to catch up - but hope the Milo date and Sunday night tv were good. I was stuck in traffic on the M40 at the time, but did think of you!

Not well here either (sorry you're feeling rough, WB, hope you feel better soon) last week's viral cough/cold seems to have turned into real breathlessness, dizzy spells etc. Am going for blood test tomorrow in case its anaemia (feels like it might be) and off to gp shortly for re-listen to chest, but basically utterly knackered. Going away for weekend was not such a great idea

Hope to catch up soon, meantime will keep eye out just in case any of you decide to go into labour a bit early...

Eliboo · 09/10/2006 17:16

Forgot - Calm, having a girl here, a kickboxing sort of girl

Redlorry75 · 09/10/2006 17:22

Have just had homemade ricepudding for dinner yum

bit concerned a filled tooth keeps going sensitive on me. Hope it;s just Pg related and not a major problem - a)I hate the dentist, b) regardless of free dental treatment when pregnant that only happens if you're NHS, and my dentist has just switched so it will cost too!
