Just had a chat with Lucy5 and we decided that the old thread was getting too long and taking forever to load so here's a new one for all of us.

Hope everyone's well, nothing to report from me, everything's going smoothly still so far.

Not long now until we get the first of the birth announcements!!

Calmriver - you can't add me to your list either as I don't know what I'm having. Absolutely convinced its a boy though!

Baretoes · 09/10/2006 17:25

Will everyone please stop talking about food!!! My Tesco shopping isn't coming until tomorrow and now I've had to add Ambrosia Creamed Rice to my list along with iced gems, tea cakes and a First magazine

Redlorry75 · 09/10/2006 17:40

Ambrosia?!? Splutter...what happened to good old fashioned homemade rice puding??

Baconbaps · 09/10/2006 17:41

Ooh it's all food and blankets on here at the moment! I keep looking at baby stuff in the shops and on ebay but then I get all confused about whether I really need it/which offer is the best bargain and end up panickig and buying nothing.

Had antenatal appointment today and all is fine apart from bab being back to back with me. So I've bid for a birthing ball on ebay for me to lean over and see if that helps. MW said it might just be the way my pelvis is (??) as it happened with my other two. This also explains my backache and why the bab feels like Houdini!

I watched the birth night live thing and was also misty-eyed when the baby finally cried. It was nice to see how calm all the staff were about it - and the mother! I didn't realise that the fluid is usually squeezed out of the baby's lungs naturally during a vaginal delivery and that's why CS babies sometimes need a helping hand.

Oh, and I don't know what flavour my baby is - can't wait to find out though!

Redlorry75 · 09/10/2006 17:47

Sorry bacon, I am responsible for both food and blanket chat .

But your name is causing me cravings too you know

I have a 32 wk scan next week and am hoping bump decides to flash a few bits, as DH wont let me ask outright, as to the sex!

I swear it's a boy as I am less sick but more tired!

Baconbaps · 09/10/2006 18:08

Heh, I wasn't complaining RL I don't need any excuses to be hungry! I did a roast dinner yesterday and a disgraceful number of roast potatoes were eaten. God they were nice! Homemade too amazingly -

I have no clue what I might be having. Last time I was convinced I was having a boy and it was a girl so I'm useless. I can't imagine myself with a little boy so I'm kind of hoping for another girl but I really won't mind as long as it's ok. My SIL has given me a huge bag full of boys clothes so it will be in blue for a few months whatever it may be!

Diners · 09/10/2006 18:11

Do we know if they are going to repeat the program as i am having a section and would love to see it properly
You are all going to stop talking about yummy food as i dont have a cooker so its micro meals for me!

bewilderbeast · 09/10/2006 18:12

Calmriver - boy here, great big rugby player by the feel of him.

Doc signed me off for two weeks, says either i've got the virus I had the week before or a new one and that I shouldn't have gone back to work. Bit my tongue and didn't point out that as they hadn't signed me off I had had no choice but to go back.

Baconbaps · 09/10/2006 18:30

Diners - I know what you mean. I was without an oven (grill and hob still worked) for over a year - don't ask why! I finally got a new cooker last week and so have been cooking all the stuff I've missed the most. Shepherd's pie again tonight!

Baretoes · 09/10/2006 18:38

Oh bloody hell - I'm now going to have to order extra mince and worcestershire sauce....

Baretoes · 09/10/2006 19:16

FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO MISSED THE LIVE BIRTH LAST NIGHT - it included the caesarian of 4 identical quads. I think this may be a repeat of what's on tonight at 9pm on C5 in 'Extraordinary People'. If so, you can watch this and the caesarian will be a repeat from last night!

Redlorry75 · 09/10/2006 19:26

I am worried about my teeth and dont feel like eating at all in case they hurt. Funny thing is the ones givng me grief are a crowned one where the root has been removed and a filled one! Please someone tell me this is just a PG thing...
am using sensodine and listerine etc.
They dont hurt right now - but they jus dont feel right.

Baconbaps · 09/10/2006 19:30

Oh yes! Identical quads!Wow! The birth wasn't live last night though. I did feel sorry for the parents of the baby with the hole in his diaphragm that had been operated on in the womb. They introduced them in the studio and then had to cut to the live CS which went fine and all happy/healthy. Then went back to them looking really forlorn as their baby is still in hospital (born in July premature I think) and now has pneumonia.

Sorry if that's confusing to those who didn't see it!

Baretoes - I've got to send DD up the shop now for Worcester sauce cos I haven't any! And I should have started cooking it about 2 hours ago! Am off now to start it

Calmriver · 09/10/2006 19:36

When I have all your sex stats I willput it on a post again. I'm really c##p at it...sorry.

I was convinced I was having a boy and DD popped out. To all of you who are convinced you are having boys...watch out. I was so excited when they told me it was a girl though at my section.Having her was by far my best day ever and I look forward to it all over again.

I'm getting all soppy now, it's time for a milo I think.

catkins1000 · 09/10/2006 19:40

Can I go on the list please!! I'm having a boy (and a very wriggly one) and taped the live birth programme to watch tomorrow - is it worth it? Will it frighten me????? Hope everyone is feeling ok, had MW appointment today, and everything is fine - I always feel really relieved when i've been to see MW, even though I didn't expect anything to be wrong.
Off to have packet of cadbury buttons and relax (like MW told me too, well she didn't mention the buttons but anyway.....)

Redlorry75 · 09/10/2006 19:48

I think tomorrow I am just going to cook a whole bucket of buttery mash..... although could cook it and have some now - no chewing required.

DiamondsAreForever · 09/10/2006 20:18

Just to add to to the food thing- at the moment I am cooking an enormous batch of tomato sauce and mushroom and cream sauce (a bit for us, mostly for dd who just loves pasta at the moment) I am eating like a horse at the moment, I even left work early so I could get something down my neck before picking dd up from her cm. I have also just eaten two Rocky biscuits and feel like a right old porker. It must be this naughty hungry boy I'm cooking inside, nothing to do with my greed .
Still, chocolate is very good for the iron levels and don't let anyone tell you otherwise! am going to watch the quads programme tonight so it makes me feel better for having two babies under 2 in a matter of weeks. Couldn't watch the c-scetions last night as mine was so horrible (emergency, diners- in case I have scared the living daylights out of you, planned sunroofs are apparently lovely)
but might do a bit more searching for a nice double buggy first.

spinamum · 09/10/2006 20:45

A boy being baked here!

Magnolia, you are gorgeous! If having five kids makes you look that good, I'm going to keep going!

Had my friend with her three yr old and one yr old with me this weekend and a one point my car had three car seats in it and OMG did that look scary.(i've only got a tiny car and it/i looked rather overwhelmed with kids)No pace for any adults! DH and I tended to divide the three yr olds out between our cars so that we got to have some adult chats with the other mum or dad!

Welcome to our newbies! Do you think we need a new seperate Stats thread? Does anyone know how to do the link? We colud include sex(our kids not ours!)

I've being having major Braxton Hicks this weekend. Don't remember them like this from last time. One or two have been "proper stop me in my tracks stuff". That's normal ,isn't it?

CAtch you all later.

PS I'm being a right bad tempered grump with my DH.

Baretoes · 09/10/2006 22:55

Redlorry - don't worry about your teeth. It is most likely to be a PG thing as the enamel becomes much more sensitive. They do say however, that you should get your teeth checked at least once as they also soften during pregnancy. If its any consolation, I'm having rotten trouble with one of my back teeth that I should have got crowned before I got PG - I can't let the bugger touch food without it shouting!

Eliboo · 09/10/2006 22:59

Chocolate is good for the iron levels? Then why oh why did the gp say I was pale around the gills and probably very anaemic?!? Not like I haven't been doing my duty and stuffing on G&B's milk chocolate for weeks....

Lucy, did you cat me? My email has been playing up, and I haven't had one as yet - just thought I'd better post in case you were patiently waiting for First magazine and hand't got it yet!

Olihan · 09/10/2006 23:02

Elibean, sorry to say this but you're eating the wrong chocolate, I think!! I know 'wrong' and 'chocolate' should never be in the same sentence but milk chocolate doesn't have the same levels of iron, etc as dark chocolate. To have any benefit you have to eat 70%+ cocoa solids dark chocolate - G&B's is good though!!

I am a 'don't know' on what sex the baby is, though if we get another scan I will try and find out again, babs was being shy at the last one and they couldn't tell and although it would have been nice, can't justify £100 for a 4D scan to find out other way.

Everyone though, from my mother, to accupuncurist, to downs adult at church are all convinced its a boy...

We shall just have to wait and see.

Would be useful in some ways as we have a boys name, but not a girls.

Did nadda today, watched a film, then have been slightly more productive this evening in that I wrapped up the next batch of Xmas Presents that where waiting. Only 1 or 2 left to get now.

weirdbird · 09/10/2006 23:27

Ohh and CR - What is your recomendation for Milo quantities??

Calmriver · 10/10/2006 09:03

I normally only have 2 heaped teaspoons in hot milk, or you can have it made like tea(water and bit of milk) OR in a glass of cold milk. I like it any of thise ways. When it's cold, you can either stir it right in,or have it so the milo shoots up to the top and it's a little crunchy(I love that) I have it in hot milk most nights though. I think it does help me get to sleep.
Oh, and it doesn't make any difference if you have 2 mugs/glasses a day..

Calmriver · 10/10/2006 09:04

Sp- thEse, spelling going out the window these days
