Anyone else feel like fighting sleep is a loosing battle. I've had a busy morning at work and now I am struggling to keep my eyes open. Like really, really struggling. So, so tired.

shelley1977 · 15/01/2015 15:38

A leaking roof sounds awful with this weather, I hope its sorted soon.
Im really tired too but then struggle to sleep apart from at stupid times like 5 min before needing to collect children! My biggest problem at the moment is the cold, I suffer from raynauds and have low iron levels which I think is making it worse. Luckily I moved out of my freezing damp house in October and only really suffer when out and about.

Gudgyx · 15/01/2015 16:16

I start getting tired around 3pm maybe, seem to get a second wind on the way home from work. Although I love these weeks, OH works backshift every second week so I get peace to myself to go home, stick jeremy kyle on repeat, lie on the couch and eat toast for dinner :)

MW/consultant appointment tomorrow! Confirming section date etc going to give them my birth plan as well and see how much of it is doable, OH says it looks a bit demanding, although I have put 'please' and 'where possible' where I can. I think they all look a bit demanding though!

fourmonthstogo · 15/01/2015 17:29

Hi everyone, just checking in!
I was told yesterday that I look "fit to burst ". Which is just bloody charming. I try to remind myself that people are just trying to be friendly, but I do feel like a whale at times! And this was on a day that I thought I looked fairly neat. Well comparatively anyway.
ah well, only 7 weeks to go!

Gudgyx · 15/01/2015 17:36

Is it wrong that I fancy big Steve the security guard on Jeremy Kyle?

Lifeisabeach · 15/01/2015 19:37

Hope you can get the roof sorted soon theone, sounds like a nightmare.

Well I've finally started buying a few bits from my lists. Got breast pads and maternity pads, some new bottles (am planning to BF but also hoping baby will take an expressed bottle), a new nursing bra and some dark coloured PJs.

Then have been in the loft and found my breast pump and steriliser, and some Moses basket sheets, blankets and a few other bits. Didn't unearth the newborn clothes though, so I'm hoping they're in MIL's loft along with the car seat and moses basket. So I feel a little bit more organised now.

Is anyone else finding the baby pressing against your bladder a lot? This one seems to do a wriggle and press right against it, makes me feel like I'm going to wee myself!

Wherediparkmybroom · 15/01/2015 20:08

Gudgy, we are still Dtd but did right up to term with boy 2. I had my growth scan and got discharged back to the midwife it seems she is 3.15 already and breech so let's hope she moves herself.

M27J5M · 15/01/2015 20:15

Lifeis - yep I have a little bladder stomper here! Can walk out the loo and seconds later need that badly it hurts because he/she is wriggling and kicking it!

theonewiththenoisychild · 16/01/2015 08:39

morning ladies. yes its very stressful for me as im nesting now too. suddenly feel desperate to get all of baby elijahs things in order and ready for his arrival. was hoping once weve decorated our bedroom i could get the furniture moved around and sort the cot out ready for him. the pram is in the hall waiting as was in my way where it was before. just going to steam on and get the bedroom decorated and hope for the best reguards the weather and my leaky roof

shelley1977 · 16/01/2015 10:44

Im having to go backwards and forwards to loo too. Little one will wriggle and that's me! Im finding I cant rest or do anything for more that 10min as babys position, head down but back to back is really uncomfortable.
Im needing to go up the attic and sort baby clothes, when I moved in with partner a few months back I had to get rid of loads of stuff as smaller property and what I did keep was just chucked into boxes all mixed up.
Getting excitied though as its last stage of pregnancy and due to blood pressure problems been told doctors don't want me going more than day or so past due date.

M27J5M · 16/01/2015 12:19

Any1 else feel like when they sit a certain way there's a lump in there throat? I keep getting it if I'm too slouched but turns out I'm now getting in with braxton hicks too, must just be pushing against something in there but it's weird lol!

Twittwooo · 16/01/2015 14:48

Hi ladies, just checking in to prevent me falling off the thread again. Still feeling disorganised, I think with work and a toddler it's inevitable for me so I need to get the diary out and mark in slots of what I'm going to do when. My husband has driven down to the North East today to return our lease car and get a new one - at the same time he'll go to his mum's and see what's in her loft, so after that we'll know exactly what we've got. £270 in fees upon return of our car too - ouch, but could have been worse. I am now trying to save madly for mat leave and selling some bits and pieces too!

Gudgyx · 16/01/2015 14:49

I'm the same with peeing, but its everytime I stand up I need to run! Its strange.

Had mw/consultant appointment today. Baby is bang on average for her growth right now so consultant is pleased with everything. Midwife said its lucky I'm having a section already, as I'd probably need one now with the way the wee bugger is lying. You can actually see baby's head when I lay a certain way! I'll try take a picture to show you guys, its quite strange.

Confirmed my section date today too. Providing she doesnt try to make an appearance early, my baby girl will be here on 2nd March :)

6 weeks on Monday til baba comes, and 5 weeks today until I finish up on maternity leave!

Butterpuff · 16/01/2015 15:27

Blimey your working on late Gudgy. Only off a week before section date!

I've officially had enough, am going to work short days for the next three weeks then I am done. Two weeks before due date.

Id love to see a picture of the way your baby is lying.

We are moving in with MIL for a few nights on Sunday (while our central heating is ripped out and replaced) feeling nervous in case we don't get on. I'm a little more emotional than usual and MIL is very excited. Thinking about buying a crochet pattern and some wool at the weekend so I can hide away with my nose in crochet and avoid too much interaction in case it goes wrong.

Anyone else crafting for their babies?

Gudgyx · 16/01/2015 16:13

Wish I could do something crafty like that butter! Dont have a crafty bone in my body unfortunately.

I'm working so late because I dont feel I need to be off any sooner to be honest! I'd rather have the extra time at the other side. Plus my bump isnt exactly massive, I'm not uncomfortable in anyway, or overly tired etc. Plus my office is less than 5 minutes from my house, but I could always work from home if I really needed to! Could all change in a few weeks if I start feeling I can't come into work, but for now thats the plan anyway :) Plus I'd go insane sitting at home, thought I was going to go nuts the few days I had off over Christmas!

Ouch to moving in with MIL! Defo take something to keep you occupied.

Gudgyx · 16/01/2015 16:14

PS I'll take the photo when I get home, if I can hold the phone while I'm in that position haha its sort of half lying down, half sitting up.

Ellizardo · 16/01/2015 16:24

Butter I've started up knitting again - it's amazing how it comes back after a good 20 years! Knitting a textured baby blanket in sage green cotton. So therapeutic in front of telly. And I BET it's good for when mILs come round too!
OH just called about going to South Africa for work in early Feb and if I'd like to join for a few days of winter sun. I'll be 34 weeks then. Bad idea? Have to say I'm not that keen about a ten hour flight or being so far away from home should Baby shout 'action!'

M27J5M · 16/01/2015 16:34

I can't knit/crochet but will get crafty making canvases for above baby's cot! It's probs a good thing I can't anyways as my gran and OH's mum are knitting loads!

A few days of summer sun sounds good but I'd be scared going away from home that far on!

Take my hat off to you moving in to MILs, I don't think I could stay overnight with anyone at the moment as I'm so irritable

Gudgyx · 16/01/2015 18:59

Dodgy bump haha

Lifeisabeach · 16/01/2015 20:07

Wow Gudgy, 2nd March - not long at all! Love the bump pic. I'd be interested to know which way mine is lying - was head down last week but there has been so much squirming around since then that I wouldn't be surprised if baby had flipped round.

I'm planning to work until one or two weeks before due date, but will see how things go. I really hope this one isn't early as I can't see me being ready. DS was 9 days late, but DD was only 3 hours late (born 3am the day after her due date) so I hope that isn't a pattern of them getting earlier!

Next week I need to find the newborn clothes and get the Moses basket and car seat out of MIL's loft so at least I have the essentials ready to go. Will also start adding some newborn nappies in with the weekly shop each week I think.

Hope everyone has a good weekend :-)

DurhamRed · 16/01/2015 20:10

Gudgy when I am in a half sitting/lying position my tummy has a strange 'cone' like look about it...very strange!

Love the belly pic Grin

fishfingerSarnies · 16/01/2015 20:45

I've sort of had my c-section agreed, I thibk so any way, had consultant appointment today he said c-section would be fine, but that I have to go back next Friday to talk about birth choices with a midwife and hear the risks and be sure I'm making the right decision. Not really sure why the consultant couldn't do that but hey ho.
They will book me in for it at my 36 week appointment.
I really hate my hospital they make you feel like your really putting them out by daring to have a baby.
Finally sorted out my old new born clothes, starting to maybe feel a little excited. Also my husband is coming home tonight for the weekend so it will be so nice to have a bit of time together. He's only been gone two weeks not sure how I will last the the next 2 and a bit months Sad

M27J5M · 16/01/2015 21:02

My tummy does that too when trying to get up from lying, supposedly it's cos of where the tummy muscles have parted to make room for baby so makes it go in that shape and easier to see shape of head/bum etc sticking through

MGFM · 17/01/2015 17:20

grudgy love the picture!

After measuring 2 1/2 weeks big with the consultant last friday, the midwife 4 days later measured me spot on at 32 weeks so now I think the measuring tape thing is a load of nonsense.

My DH started painting the nursery today. It looks fantastic. We have chosen yellow. He has done one coat and he will do the second coat tomorrow. We also ordered some winnie the pooh stickers which have arrived and look amazing! Cant wait to get them on the wall. Furniture is arriving in 2 weeks.

I also, a while back, bought a load of second hand clothes and then I have bought new stuff as well. I washed it all this weekend with Fairy (smells amazing) and now I realise I have far too much! lol. Never mind, will keep for the next one!

Pretty broke this month due to Christmas (we are trying to live off one wage to get a deposit together for a house) so we have traded in some of our tesco vouchers and are off to Pizza Express tonight for dinner. How sad is it that I am super excited by this! lol and then maybe if we are in the mood we will go to the cinema afterward....proper date night!

How everyone else is enjoying their weekend!

MGFM · 17/01/2015 17:20
