And if anyone is readying this now...what are thoughts on eating the cured meats from Pizza Express....I really like the sharing starter....yum yum but has cured meats...surely at this stage in pregnancy the risk is low??

MGFM I'm jealous of your date night, I've had a busy wee day about the house and all I wanna do is go out for dinner now but that means I'd need to get ready etc and by that time it'll be too late for DS :/

theonewiththenoisychild · 17/01/2015 18:58

MGFM i think the measuring tape thing depends a lot on the position of baby at the time. my bump measures 3 weeks ahead has measured 3 weeks ahead in breech position and head down. but they are doing growth scans as i usually have apparently small babies. 6 lb 10 ans half and 7lb 7 Confused my auntie is taller with a higher bmi than me and her baby was 7lb 7 and nobody thought he was small

theonewiththenoisychild · 17/01/2015 18:59

maybe baby was having a good stretch that day Grin

Gudgyx · 17/01/2015 23:33

I had date night tonight too! Went to 'the chippy doon the lane' a wee chip shop restaurant, was lovely! Then to pics to see taken 3. I couldn't sit at peace as baby was going mad, don't know if she was reacting to all the noise!

Got our cot built today too ?? baby's room now almost done, just need to find a transfer for the wall we like, waiting on her bedding and cot canopy coming, then just to get a few wee decorations, something for the other wall and a light mainly. I spotted a lovely night light on eBay that transfers stars onto the ceiling I quite like!

Did my last home injection today for crohns and RA! Fingers crossed I now don't flare between now and baby coming! I have to take one into hospital on day of section to take after baby is born so hope all is well that way, don't know how I'll cope with both those flaring up, recovering from a section and a newborn!

Twittwooo · 18/01/2015 07:35

We were also out together last night! I decided to surprise my husband - a friend had offered to babysit as we hardly see each other at the moment and when we do we're both exhausted which is not a good combination, so time together was lovely. We went to a great tapas place just down the road, and I really enjoyed my small glass of Rioja! Now I need to stop myself from thinking that we couldn't afford it .. hope you're all having a lovely weekend too.

MGFM · 18/01/2015 10:27

grudgyxwe went to see taken 3 after pizza express as well. I managed to not go to the toilet the whole way through!

Gudgyx · 18/01/2015 10:32

Oh me too mgfm! Was worried about that as it was really busy haha. Did u enjoy the film? I just love Liam neeson

Fondue42 · 18/01/2015 12:49

Hello! Just introducing myself: new to mumsnet, new to pregnancy, less than 10 weeks to go and leaving everything to the last minute. Due 27th March and spent most of the last 30 weeks in total denial! Time to face the music! Eek! Looking forward to getting to know you, and good luck ladies!

M27J5M · 18/01/2015 13:12

Welcome fondue Smile hope you've been keeping well so far!

MGFM · 18/01/2015 14:16

Gudgyx I did enjoy the film. I liked it better than I liked Taken 2.

Fondue42 · 18/01/2015 15:13

Thanks for the welcome M27, keeping well so far, although lack of sleep has been a nightmare since 19weeks. Suppose I just need to get used to that! Anyway, all tips on getting good sleep are welcome!

Just read some of the recent posts: I also had a date night (well date afternoon) yesterday. Used some vouchers we had for Christmas and had a lovely meal, but was so tired afterwards I couldn't face the cinema! So DVD and early to bed instead, rock n roll!

Twittwooo · 18/01/2015 15:57

Welcome Fondue - we're due date buddies!

Fondue42 · 18/01/2015 16:07

Yay Twittwooo! I wonder which of us will pop first!?

fourmonthstogo · 18/01/2015 16:11

All those date nights sound great!

We've just been to look at the new birthing suite near us which looks really lovely. Makes it all seem very real and near! 7 weeks to go!

Welcome fondue!

theonewiththenoisychild · 18/01/2015 16:23

welcome fondue

MGFM · 18/01/2015 17:29

Weighed myself this morning :( I have put on 3 Stone! Argh!

Twittwooo · 19/01/2015 06:18

Fondue, I have a feeling I'll go late as I did with my daughter. I think I'm kind of banking on that as I'm not very organised, but it could be very different this time around! We also have an amazing midwife led birthing centre Fourmonths, but sadly I won't get I use it - because I had a previous section I'm classed as high risk this time ?? I got in for about half an hour last time until I was sick on the floor and whisked away to another room! Hope you get to use yours.

fourmonthstogo · 19/01/2015 08:44

I'm in two minds twitt, I ended up having an epidural last time and I didn't want to effectively rule out the possibility this time, especially if this baby is back to back too. But the midwife unit was sooo lovely I am seriously considering it.

M27J5M · 19/01/2015 10:11

Woke up this morning feeling slightly panicked, had a weird dream about baby coming and when I woke this morning it made me realise 2 week from now I was in labour last time ?? I'm all organised tho so panic over but it's still scary to think about!

Butterpuff · 19/01/2015 10:11

Great bump pic Gudgy I have a similar shaped bump at times. Will try to get the MW to tell me how Baby is lying today as we see her at 12. 35 weeks today definitely getting close now Smile

MGFM we have chosen yellow for our nursery too. At the moment it needs a re-plaster before we can get painting but really looking forward to it.

We had a date night in the week, went for a cheeky curry which was lovely. The whole weekend was spent doing DIY. We took down a wall, stripped paper, moved everything about and got ready for the plumbers and sparkies this week. Feeling a little uncomfortable in MIL house so hoping the week will go quickly. I cant wait to see our house starting to come back together after the destruction.

Welcome fondue, I'm sure you will find that many of us are just as disorganised as you. I'm actually due 23rd Feb (but like it here so haven't moved to the feb thread. My house is a building site and I don't have any baby things in it at all so far. You cant be as disorganised as that!! Wink

Lifeisabeach · 19/01/2015 10:35

Welcome Fondue, I'm another disorganised one but have started getting things sorted over the last week. I made lots of lists to get me going and have been slowly working through them.

Found the moses basket and maxi cosi car seat and base in MIL's loft, plus our swing and bouncy chair and all the newborn clothes. So have been washing the fabric on everything and will start on the clothes soon. Bit worried about getting the fabric back on the maxi cosi - think I'll need to study some youtube videos!

fourmonths, DS was back to back and I ended up with an epidural, whereas DD was born with no pain relief at all. I'm deliberating between the MLU and a home birth, but am swaying towards MLU at the moment as lots of people have told me how lovely it is. I want to have a look round but the MW said to wait until 36 weeks so that we're fairly sure baby is staying head down.

Butterpuff · 19/01/2015 10:52

Life, were you encouraged to have an Epidural with DS or was it a case of you couldn't get him out without. I'm a bit nervous of having a back to back birth and I really don't want an Epidural - I am hopefully staying in the MLU just behind my house, so would be limited with pain care choices anyway.

theonewiththenoisychild · 19/01/2015 12:29

hi ladies. im in a good mood today. woke up to the alarm for school and put it on snooze. then oh turned over and put his hand on my bump waiting for little one to wake up. he seemed quite happy when he had woken him up and could feel him kicking. took a while for him to be able to feel him kicking due to anterior placenta so think its lovely now he can feel him. dc's felt him kick before oh. but only because dc's seemed to have endless patience tp sit there with their hands over bump waiting and waiting and waiting Grin

Butterpuff · 19/01/2015 12:45

That's lovely theone.

We just got back from the MW. My blood pressure is still low. 100 over 60, bump is still measuring 1cm under. MW is very pleased with me. She gave us a tour of the MLU and its lovely, two birthing rooms (one with tub, one without) a post labour ward with 6 beds, a day room with.....toaster (score!) and a bedroom with lovely pine furniture and double bed in case partners want to stay over too. But best bit, she was feeling for bumps position and said bump was head down just about hovering above being engaged so to expect lightening soon. DH asked how she could tell so she showed him where to put his hands and got him to feel bumps head. Really cool. DH was terrified but delighted at the same time. Smile
