HappyNew Year ladies! This year we will have our babiesShock

My goal for 2015 is to make a deal success of my business and that started today with lots of networking - I'm buzzing! Really want to be able to give up the day job and spend more time with the kids.

Gudgyx · 02/01/2015 13:24

Ladies, are the hormones/mood swings getting the better of anyone else right now? I am getting so peed off at everything!

Every little thing my OH does annoys me. I mean everything. His breathing, coughing, his voice, his feet, his pyjamas. I go in a bad mood if someone phones him, if he asks me to do something, if he does something for me.

I'm so scunnered with everything! I seem to spend my time between the office and the house, 3 minute drive between the two. I think I'm bored. I think I'm ready for the baby to come! Roll on 8 weeks.

He keeps asking me whats wrong and I cant even explain it. I dont really know whats annoying me if you know what I mean. I'm just in a constant state of pissedoffness at the moment.

Grrrr hormones!!

M27J5M · 02/01/2015 16:22

Yep gudgy I'm with you on the mood swings etc, I've been like that for the past 2 months! Well I've actually been like it constantly but worse the past 2 months

MissRee · 02/01/2015 17:32

Yep, totally normal Gudgy! DP says I've been in bitch from hell mode throughout this pregnancy (said with affection of course) Grin

Gudgyx · 02/01/2015 20:23

Poor guy can't do anything right lol

lavender20 · 02/01/2015 23:11

Just wondering if I can re join?! Started posting early on in my pregnancy then sort of dropped out. Im due 27th march, cant wait for maternity leave and heartburn is doing me in.. but on the whole all is good!

As regards breastfeeding,, ive been looking at the nhs website for breast feeding tips, also google the leaflet 'off to the best start' but will also keep eye out for good b feeding websites.

lavender20 · 02/01/2015 23:14

Ps also get pissed off a lot more now too!

Gudgyx · 03/01/2015 11:22

Hi lavender, welcome back!

The moods swings have defo been the worst part for me so far!

Something else to be pissed off about. This will sound terribly ungrateful, but the amount of stuff his mum has bought for baby. We brought it all home last night. Far too much! I can't buy anything else myself, other people who have been asking what we need can't buy anything. She's bought a load of johnsons bath stuff, pampers nappies, various wipes. I've already bought all the mamia nappies, and huggies wipes, and wasn't planning on using johnsons bath stuff. Grrr

m33r · 03/01/2015 17:06

Welcome back lavendar!

Sorry you're having a nightmare with mil gudgy! I suppose she is trying to help but I understand how frustrating it must be.

I am so excited to meet my little guy!! I'm packing my hosp bag now with just over 10weeks to go!! Is that a bit excessive?! I'm just so excited!!! Grin

Gudgyx · 03/01/2015 18:01

I'm probably being unreasonable but I feel like she's MINE, well mines and his, but everyone wants to stake their claim on her. I mean last night we were discussing when we go get the babies pics done, we're doing 4 generations pics on baby's dad's side and mine. MIL piped up with she wants one with her, her sister and baby. FIL told her that's unreasonable and too far, it's not fair as neither of baby's parents will be in it. He's quite good at sticking up for me when she goes OTT.

Bring on the hospital bags! So far I have nighties, big pants, arnica, peppermint capsules, earplugs, eye mask, maternity pads (from the pound shop!!) nappie bags and breast pads. Have all babies clothes they just need sorted out when her dad builds her drawers. 8 weeks to go eek!!

m33r · 03/01/2015 20:25

What are the arnica and peppermint capsules for?

I forgot my eye mask - good call gudgy.

I have also discovered that I'm not in love with any of my outfits so going to go and buy a few over priced things I love love love (pfb and all) and swap them for the outfits I have packed in at the mo.

Come on March!!! Grin

Ellizardo · 03/01/2015 21:19

M33r - not obsessive at all but then i'm hardly impartial! Sealing of bags, Any good suggestions for baby changing ones?

M27J5M · 03/01/2015 22:37

Welcome back lavenderSmile

Well tonight I planned on packing my hospital bag tho after a day of shopping, came home, moved the whole bedroom about, built a new set of drawers, sorted all the clothes and wardrobes out I can say I'm totally done in and hospital bag will have to wait till tomor!! Heads banging too as I decided to headbutt the drawers, cut my head and it's in a lump but luckily no hosp visit needed!

theonewiththenoisychild · 03/01/2015 22:46

speaking of hospital bags im an over packer and cant seem to figure out how nuch is enough. im having a c section and plan to go home the day after as this is what midwife said i could do as long as im up and about like i was with dd and ds. what would you say i could get away with packing? i dont want to look like im moving in like i usually do

m33r · 03/01/2015 22:50

I'm the opposite theone: I pack so light and don't want to leave anything behind... I've looked at what I have ready to go - little weekend case up the loft so it's on the bed at the mo - and it looks like nothing! Confused

Gudgyx · 03/01/2015 22:53

Meer, arnica is supposed to help healing, and peppermint for wind after the section! Just realised though I sent the nipple pads to my old address so my old landlord will get them haha!

lavender20 · 04/01/2015 00:31

I was also looking at a hospital bag list and have to ask.....is anyone taking paper knickers, or just maternity pads....I can't imagine that paper knicks are very comfy! It's my first so I'm clueless!

Twittwooo · 04/01/2015 07:37

Lavender we have the same due date. But I think much more disorganised than most of you lot! Need to get making lists .. that always makes me feel better ;)

Gudgyx · 04/01/2015 09:07

I've got massive cotton pants and maternity pads lavender, don't like the sound of paper knickers!

m33r · 04/01/2015 09:17

I've just got normal size pants and always nighttime pads - do I need to get the maternity pads?

I heard that the paper knickers were a faff and to get cotton ones you'd be happy to part with...

M27J5M · 04/01/2015 10:27

I haven't got paper pants, didn't last time either! Just got normal full pants/shorts, I another who didn't get maternity pads, just normal night time pads, I hate wearing pads so find the maternity 1s awful to wear tho I'm thinking of picking up a pack just incase

fishfingerSarnies · 04/01/2015 10:31

Hey everybody, happy new year.
I've been a bit out the loup as broke my phone so couldn't get on mumsnet.
Had my 28 wee apointment on Friday left me feeling cross and grumpy, had this batty midwife who even though I said I'd be pushing for a c-section kept going on and on about vbac and not listening to be at all. I know it's not up to her but it left me feeling nervous about if I will be allowed one or not. I've got a consultant appointment at 31 weeks to discuss options but she said they wondering decide for definite untill 34/36 weeks! I feel so stressed with it hanging over me untill then. Especially as dh is going away tomorrow and won't be here for the birth so have to rely on friends who will need to book time off work and Mil who will need a week off work to look after dd...
I'm guessing g they will do it at 39 weeks so do I get people to book that week off? But what if they do it at 38 or later or not at bloody all.

Having major hip pains struggling to walk and do everything I need to both Gp and midwife just said see how I go don't do anything that hurts, EVERYTHING hurts!

Didn't bother with paper knickers just big granny pants from primark bought size up. Didn't use maternity pads for long but I had csection so think you bleed less. Didnt bother with nipple pads or anything as I wasn't really a leaker did buy but didn't need. I'd recommend a few extra pairs of pj's as I got major sweats in the couple of days after dds birth.
Aiming to pack bag at 34 weeks this time so haven't thought about it yet.

lavender20 · 04/01/2015 15:41

Fish finger sarnies- it must be awful to feel so in limbo about something so important, hope you get confirmation of your csection soon.

Will just get some big cheap pants and pads then, didnt fancy the paper ones at all!

Twittwoo aww thats great its flying by isnt it

lavender20 · 04/01/2015 15:44

And I have to make lists I find them very calming, I lose them half the time and have to make more lists but for that 10 minutes it makes me feel more in control!

theonewiththenoisychild · 04/01/2015 15:56

im taking primark granny pants too was given some paper pants by the midwife in the hospital last time as went across the hall to the toilets half asleep during visiting and needed an emergency change Blush they are not comfy at all and will be taking always night pads too. and boots own nipple cream as allergic to lanolin. i find tommee tippee breast pads are the best too
