Thats the only thing I've really noticed meer, I'm struggling to put my own socks and shoes on but thats about it! I can lie on my back and sleep without feeling sick etc eating just about anything, not really getting very tired, I just cant believe its been so easy!

Have you had your 4d scan yet?

m33r · 29/12/2014 09:28

Yep, gudgy I had it last weekend. Is quite good but I didn't eat much sugar so he didn't move much but they told us all measurements were on track (though his femur was in bottom 5%, head was in top 90% and abdominal was at 50% but since she said this was normal I'm not googling ... I am not googling! I am not googling!) Shock

Gudgyx · 29/12/2014 09:40

Aw brilliant! They are really good in there, so if they said its normal I wouldnt worry about it :) step away from google!!

MissRee · 29/12/2014 18:04

I felt like that with my first pregnancy Gudgy! This one not so much... Grin

DurhamRed · 29/12/2014 19:13

Gudgy, you are so lucky. This is my first pregnancy and I feel like I have had everything thrown at me! Hyperemesis, sore hips, back ache, shortness of breath, exhaustion, insomnia...you name it! I think I must have bypassed the 'blooming' phase of pregnancy Sad

On a different note, has anyone had their Glucose tolerance test? If so how did people manage with the glucose drink? I am a bit worried about vomiting back up as I won't be able to take my anti-sickness meds before the test.

MissRee · 29/12/2014 21:45

I have my GTT next Tuesday. Looking forward to wasting half a day of my week off at the hospital Confused

m33r · 29/12/2014 22:35

I've had no mention of a GTT. Does everyone get one and what are they for? Sorry for being daft! Blush

fourmonthstogo · 30/12/2014 07:48

M33r I didn't have one last pregnancy and no mention of one so far this pregnancy either so I guess it's not automatic to have one!

Gudgyx · 30/12/2014 09:05

I've not had one, nor been offerred one either! I wonder if we are in the same area meer since we went to same private scan place? North Lanarkshire?

First pregnancy too Durham! Suppose I should feel lucky its been so easy, just feel like I'm cheating and havent experienced 'real' pregnancy if you get what I mean. Sorry you've had such a hard time of it, how is your hyperemsis now? Suppose they say you dont get 2 pregnancies the same, maybe I will have all your symptoms my next one!

m33r · 30/12/2014 09:17

gudgy I'm in South lan but they changed the boundary just after I registered so I think I might be registered with nhs Glasgow rather than nhs Lanarkshire. Glad I'm not the only one!

Am loving these long lies at the moment and getting to just lie in bed feeling the LO kick away! Grin

DurhamRed · 30/12/2014 11:25

Well my GTT did not go as planned at all. I vomited before I'd even had the glucose drink and first set of bloods. They were so sympathetic and said I wouldn't tolerate the drink so they took my 28 week set of bloods and arranged for me to come back in 3 weeks to try the GTT again. I'm hoping that the consultant at my antenatal appointment next week will allow me to take my meds before the test.

Gudgy i still get bouts of vomiting and will be on anti sickness meds for the duration of my pg but I am much better than I was before.

m33r my GTT test is due to my dad being a diabetic, so that puts me at a higher risk for gestational diabetes. That's the only reason my mw arranged the test.

m33r · 30/12/2014 15:25

Ahhh, thanks durham, that makes sense and I'm not missing something. Sorry you're still feeling rough! Must be a total pain. Not too long now though!

DurhamRed · 30/12/2014 17:44

No, not long now...starting to get very exciting/scary/real!

M27J5M · 30/12/2014 21:40

Lol very scary and real indeed Durham!

theonewiththenoisychild · 31/12/2014 09:20

morning ladies. ive got an appointment to see the consultant today. lots of blood tests for me then Sad im a real wimp with needles this time around because the anesthetic wore off during my c section last time and i felt everything. now im scared of anything sharp Sad dont know how im going to cope in theatre again. but cant tell consultant this as still want to be awake for my c section

Gudgyx · 31/12/2014 09:41

Aw the one I feel for you

m33r · 31/12/2014 10:57

Hi gudgy. I may be waaaay off here but I think you just need you. You may also want breast pads, nipple cream, and a pump...

In Scotland we also get a dvd but it's a bit rubbish and also one of our antenatal classes is just in breastfeeding. I have mine for January so you should get your dates at next mw appt (if you don't already have them). The stuff your mil bought will still come in handy - I bought all that stuff too as I hope to express so that DH can do some feeds and we have concert in June so hoping to express for DM to take LO (know it's early days and I'm maybe being ambitious but trying to stay positive!) Smile

Gudgyx · 31/12/2014 11:58

I have a pump! Not sure what kind, my mum's friend is giving me hers she said she spent a fortune on it. I know you can get replacement bits for it so I'll see what kind it is when I get it. I've looked into the possibility of breastfeeding on my medication too, it all looks okay!

Thanks meer :)

theonewiththenoisychild · 31/12/2014 13:04

gudgy there are some useful videos on youtube about breast feeding positions and getting a good latch. i struggled with dd but had some good advice in hospital with ds from the breast feeding expert midwife. she was really helpful and once i got him to latch on better all went well from there. altho i was sore for 2 weeks and really felt like giving up. After those 2 weeks i loved breast feeding. It is so much easier especially at night. a nursing pillow might be handy. asda has the widgey on sale at the moment. and muslin squares are a breastfeeding mums best friend Smile

theonewiththenoisychild · 31/12/2014 16:10

just back from seeing the consultant. got to have a growth scan at 32 weeks and 36 weeks and at 36 weeks will find out when my c section will be :) but all is fine with baby elijah. in fact its quite funny really i have to have growth scans because both my babies have been small (6lb 10 n half and 7lb 7) and heres the funny bit..... he's measuring at 30 weeks and im only 27 weeks Grin
