fish I think it's 24-28 weeks for noticing movement patterns.

mrsA I think it's all quite normal what you describe. Something quite similar happened to me last week and I had a little panic BUT I would definitely call the mw and / or gp.

durjam glad you're better. When do you stop for my mat leave?

gudgy that is awful. I would offer support via text saying things like 'here if you need to talk anytime but understand if you want to be left alone.' That's the kind of thing I di with my friend going through Ivf: some days she speaks to me, other days she's a bit short and shuts me out but that way it's her call.

DurhamRed · 29/11/2014 16:05

m33r my first day of mat leave will be 23rd Feb. I was going to make it the 1st March but thought by that time I'd probably be getting really tired and fed up also my midwife told me it will be likely that I'll be induced a bit early as they don't like women who are 40+ to go full term.

Ellizardo · 29/11/2014 21:19

Looking forward to week 24 on tues and loving all baby names chat! We're having a boy and going around in circles with trad/unusual names. We're not married either so the last name still needs to be addressed! Ho hum.
All is well otherwise apart from still suffering from sciatica...Got worse as I've got bigger in last week, finding it difficult to walk without stabbing pain in right buttock. Any thoughts? Pilates seems to make it worse!

Rainbow555 · 29/11/2014 23:19

elli are you seeing osteopath for it? I am suffering too. I am ok doing Pilates but walking around and steps make it worse. Osteo seems to aggravate it short term but hopefully better long term? Also since growing this week has got worse.

I use hot water bottle when sitting at night to try and ease it and don't walk too much! Not real fixes though!! Sorry! It's a real pain in the arse!! Excuse the pun haha

Gudgyx · 30/11/2014 01:39

Whyyyy does my lovely girl get so active at night time?! Can't sleep for her squirming and booting me!

lotsoftoast · 30/11/2014 06:31

Morning all. Dying, DYING of the cold this morning - my throat is like sandpaper from mouth breathing all night....yawn!

M27J5M · 30/11/2014 08:48

Ellizardo keep an eye on it, it could be SPD, mine startedoutwithpain in my in my bum that I thought was sciatica, after it getting so bad I eventually went to docs and its SPD, can get physio n stuff now to help ease it!

Toast, I'm the same, mostly a head cold but horrid all the same

Ellizardo · 30/11/2014 15:30

M27 and rainbow - many thanks for thoughts. Will be asking midwife on thurs and/or GP about osteo and will keep an eye on SPD which sounds just delightful not.

M27J5M · 30/11/2014 19:33

Oh it really is delightful ?? luckily enough mines seems to have totally calmed down and only seems to give me bother when I've been working all day!

lotsoftoast · 02/12/2014 07:04

Hello! How are we all this morning? I'm thankfully feeling a little better! Might even attempt playgroup if I'm feeling brave later!

Good morning toast, I'm feeling tired! My 2nd trimester glow is definitely fading.

Butterpuff · 02/12/2014 08:26

Morning ladies,

I'm glad you said that pickled now I have hit the third trimester I just feel huge and exhausted. Getting up off the sofa is a trial and all I want to do is sleep, I've 14 friends for dinner on Saturday, I must be mad.

Glad your feeling better toast whatever is going around at the moment seems to be hitting everyone I know.

MissRee · 02/12/2014 09:41

Hi ladies, I was here in the beginning but couldn't keep up! Hope everyone is doing well and progressing nicely and that the sickness has passed?

Could someone add me to the stars list please? I'm on my phone and can't update it - due a girl on 20 March and I live in Kent (if anyone is near bluewater, be nice to meet up).

Did anyone else's MW try to encourage them to have a home birth? It seems to be a new initiative in our area. Whilst I love the idea of birthing at home, a brand new house and DP paranoid about ruining new floors has put a stop to that Grin I also had a good experience at hospital last time and very quick labour so happy with that option too.

Gudgyx · 02/12/2014 10:02

I feel MASSIVE right now. Last night I was sitting without a bra on, and had to go put a nursing bra on as I just couldnt breathe with the bump and boobs all squashed together!! Cant seem to get comfy now unless I'm laying down! Wasnt expecting this bit so early!

Got my 4d scan booked for Saturday :D will be 27 weeks, just hope it isnt too early to see anything good! If it is, I have growth scans at 32 and 36 weeks anyway, so not a total loss. Plus our local scan clinic, ABC4D, are doing a deal right now, all scans at half price!! So its only costing us 65. And because we moved last month, we missed the cut off to switch the council tax and make a November payment, so we have November's council tax money spare, so its gone on a scan and some panto tickets haha. Because we've moved up a band, CT asked for a big payment up front, which we couldnt afford all at one go, so they've spread it out over the 2 free months to keep our payments same, just missing one in November!

OH said last night that I looked like a whale! Thanks babe, luckily enough I dont mind!

M27J5M · 02/12/2014 10:28

Glad your feeling better toast :)

I feel huge too gudgy, people keep telling me I'm really neat till they see me side on! I'm defo all to the front!!

That's the Christmas rush starting in the salon and I'm really dreading it, my spd plays up real bad after a day at work and the salon is always jam packed so very long days with little or no breaks!!

m33r · 02/12/2014 12:41

gudgy we booked another 4d scan (also ABC4D) for 20th December. So excited!!

Gudgyx · 02/12/2014 13:40

Oh meer we must be in the same kind of area at least! I'm in Motherwell, which one are you going to?

I have a bump photoshoot booked! 11th December, a student is doing it for pictures for his portfolio so is only charging for studio time, 11 per hour and we have the studio for 2 hours. Then whatever prints we want! I dont know what to wear though? I bought this for it:

www.brastop.com/curvy-kate-lola-babydoll-ivorygold

And it is stunning on! So complementary to my figure, but still shows off the bump well. Think this is okay? Also will I need another outfit to wear for different pics, maybe something black? And what does my OH wear for the pics he will be in? I have hair and makeup booked up too, so exciting! We're doing it for extra xmas presents for the grannys, hopefully they like it.

M27J5M · 02/12/2014 13:48

That's lovely gudgy! If your going to wear black why not her hubby to wear something lighter so you's won't blend together and if he'll be in shoot with Ivory outfit get him to wear something darker :)

PickledPorcupine · 02/12/2014 16:16

I agree, make sure the colours contrast. I've got a photo of me and dh both in dark colours and it's a lovely pic but you can't even see my huge bump because we blend in.

m33r · 02/12/2014 22:17

gudgy also Motherwell!

KeeperOfTheZoo · 03/12/2014 11:01

Rainbow sorry, been awol for a while so only just seen your question - I got the decal off ebay. I've just done a quick search of my purchase history and found it - it was £8.99 + free postage from a seller called suffolksignslimited01449.

Gudgyx so sorry to hear about your cousin and his gf Sad.

I've been suffering with what I think is sciatica too, but it comes and goes. When it's here, it's excruciating, really low down in my back and radiating down my butt cheek.

Feeling pretty exhausted today. DS is still not sleeping very well in his new big boy bed (well, his cot without the side but he thinks it's a big boy bed!). He goes to sleep ok but if he wakes up during the night he panics and runs into us saying "help, Mummy, scared, no sleep in Jake's bed!" One of us then has to take him back to bed and lie on his floor next to him until he's asleep - if we're lucky that'll work but otherwise he'll scream the place down until we take him in with us, which we don't want him getting into the habit of doing. 3 times he was up last night, as well as me being up one more time for a wee and one other time when a car alarm went off on the street. Talk about disturbed sleep!

fishfingerSarnies · 03/12/2014 22:15

Those girls with SPD, I've been having pains in my lower back pelvis area for the past few days that have been bloody agony can't stand for long without being in a lot of pain, sitting hurt and when I'm lieing it's not too bad apart from the stabbing pains, does this sound like Spd? Should I see my GP or wait for midwife appointment which isn't until January? Can they help or is it something I just have to put up with? Worried I won't be able to move if it gets worse, struggling to lift 2 yo dd. Sad
Any remedies?

fourmonthstogo · 04/12/2014 09:30

Good morning ladies, I have to start the day with a confession.... I've got to tell someone before I end up blurting it out to someone at work!
Had a very vivid sex dream last night about one of my colleagues. I keep getting x rated flashbacks! How am I going to look him in the eye today? In fact, I can hear him talking now and it's most distracting!

fishfingerSarnies · 04/12/2014 10:22

Ha ha four that's funny. I had a very sexy dream about the builders I had in last week Blush

Butterpuff · 04/12/2014 12:42

I'm jealous of the sex dreams, I've given up dreaming completely recently.
