Fellow occasional leaker here too, mostly when I cough or sneeze and forget to cross my legs

Lifeisabeach · 17/11/2014 19:57

Same here re the leaking, it happens to me when I stand up after a wee. My MW said the uterus presses against the tube that comes out of the bladder and makes it kinked instead of straight, which means some of the wee can get left behind. It's why we're more prone to UTIs too. Pregnancy is soooo glam!

m33r · 17/11/2014 21:48

Ahhhhh... It all makes sense to me now. What did people do before mumsnet?! X

PickledPorcupine · 17/11/2014 22:49

Ha we are glam aren't we?!

SurfsUp1 · 18/11/2014 02:18

Ahh, the leaking is lovely isn't it!?
I suppose at least it's a good reminder to keep up your kegels so it doesn't become a permanent issue!
I also have this semi-permanent feeling of needing to pee - a bit like a UTI but without the burning. I think it's basically all related?

I have just accidentally bought 2 nursing chairs! I bought one from a lady who lives around the corner, and came home to discover that I actually also won an ebay auction for one (thought I'd missed out on that one!!)
Ahh, well, they were both a bargain so it won't be hard to get my money back on one of them.

Anyone else getting SPD? Mine has kicked in like a hot knife going into my hip bone Sad . Luckily I have a pre-booked acupuncture appointment this afternoon, but any other tips would be great... Oh, and I have a cold, which seems to mean I pee every time I sneeze! The joys! Blush

Gudgyx · 18/11/2014 11:07

Re leaking - I am constantly! Its because I have 5 fistulas though, I've been the big massive Kotex night pads for over a year now :( so I dont notice any extra pregnancy leaking. They were in the process of being fixed (I have 4 setons in) but cant be touched now I'm pregnant. Can actually feel them getting sorer again now because of all the stretching, thank god for my dohnut seat!

My girl has been hyper constantly these past few days! I just had a few pear drops and she is going mental haha had to grab one of the engineers hands there and put it on the bump cos she was kicking so hard! I love it tbh.

MGFM · 18/11/2014 16:41

Tanny yesterday I started getting sharp pains in my lower abdomen, left and right hand side. IS that SPD?

M27J5M · 18/11/2014 16:55

Tanny I was suffering SPD too but seems to have all calmed down for the moment, except for after I've been at work, standing all day kills me

tannyLoo · 18/11/2014 18:35

MGFM sounds like it could be. Mine is real "in bone" pain, and it hurts to move, put pants on etc. I've got a MW appt on Thursday, so I'll ask about additional support then. My acupuncture today helped a bit, but I'm still in pain.

theonewiththenoisychild · 18/11/2014 19:50

hi ladies. i have booked a private scan for next tuesday Grin cant wait. my 2 dc's are coming along too. they cant wait to find out if they are getting a brother or a sister Grin

m33r · 18/11/2014 21:59

Excited for you theone

We're going for another toward end of dec. just want to see the little guy again with a bit more fat. Smile

Ellizardo · 18/11/2014 23:33

Just did first pregnancy Pilates class. Instructor was fun but everyone else VERY serious. Didn't really know what to expect but enjoyed the stretches and general calm after a busy office day and little exercise. No doubt I will wake up unable to move.

PickledPorcupine · 19/11/2014 07:09

Ellizardo one of the reasons I quit the gym a few years back was because of crazy take it too serious people. Whenever I tried to talk to anyone I felt like I was invading their circle of power!

I'm going to try antenatal yoga soon and hoping for some more relaxed classmates.

m33r · 19/11/2014 12:13

Had my first 'lazy daisy' last night. Was certainly not serious! Really enjoyed being with other pg ladies but there was a lot of yacking! Two women also came in with their babies - one was 10lbs 9 but I think he was still tiny!

What I learned 'rotate to dilate!' All about active birth. Seems to make sense. Will let you all know how it goes next week but think I might need to find a supplementary yoga class to get me moving a bit more

Butterpuff · 19/11/2014 13:29

I'd never heard of lazy daisy before. Think I might do some googling now. Though do have both NCT and NHS classes booked and don't want overkill. The NCT class is held about 50 paces from my new front door.

Am exhausted today, move yesterday was as moves generally are. Awful. But most of the boxes are in the house now so I guess we are getting somewhere.

Does anyone have an cold remedies they want to share. I'm just drinking, keeping warm and getting through boxes of tissues. Though maybe some tunes/lockets etc. might help a bit with the stuffiness.

Ellizardo · 19/11/2014 14:50

Pickled - you're bang on, my big bouncing ball thing rolled away from me by accident and the lady kicked it back with a disgruntled sigh. Have obviously failed preg Pilates etiquette 101. Daisy sounds fun tho m33r. Anything with a motivational rhyme in it works for me!

PickledPorcupine · 19/11/2014 17:37

Ellizardo you must learn to keep your balls to yourself! Grin

PickledPorcupine · 19/11/2014 17:39

And butter I sent dh to the pharmacy for soothers and the pharmacist said no! I've coped on a lot of hot Ribena and thousands of tissues.

Lifeisabeach · 19/11/2014 19:42

I found olbas oil good when I had a cold. I sprinkled it on my pillow at night and it seemed to help unblock me a bit.

MGFM · 19/11/2014 20:55

plenty of Vics Vapo Rub

SurfsUp1 · 19/11/2014 21:32

Careful with the r
Ribena Pickled - the heat kills the Vit C and the sugar suppresses your immune system!

theonewiththenoisychild · 19/11/2014 23:14

hi ladies its been a eventful day for me Sad ive been to hospital today because of bleeding. midwife checked my bp and pulse then took ages to find babys heartbeat with the doppler and when she did it was sooooo quiet. had to have an internal examination by a gynacologist..... more waiting then he found an abrasion on my cervix along with some fresh blood and fluid. the main concern seemed to be the possibility that my placenta was bleeding and my amniotic fluid was leaking. so was sent straight for a scan..... i walked into the scan department the other end of the hospital (our maternity is getting changed around) and i just fell apart i was really scared. but the scan showed everything was fine with baby placenta and amniotic fluid. so weve been banned from dtd for a while so my cervix can heal Blush

lotsoftoast · 20/11/2014 06:53

Oh no theone - that's awful, what a fright for you. See, sex always leads to trouble Wink hope you managed some sleep last night
