Good morning ladies!

Well after an increasingly stressed and fretful few days when DH was useless and we weren't doing any baby-readying at all, I'm now feeling more relaxed. Car seat and crib are sorted, and nursery is getting there. Today I'll finish my 'in case of longer stay' hospital bag and my PoddlePod should arrive too. Still fretting we don't have a boys' name but I can pester DH on that several times a day Wink

Had my 36 week mw check yesterday, a little late due to Xmas - I'm 37+2. Left feeling great about my ability to grow a baby - head is low down (pretty sure that the mw showing DH how to feel where it is and therefore revealing how low down it is means he will now not have sex with me till baby is out though!), facing right way, good movements and excellent heartbeat. Good baby!

After the appointment though the baby didn't stop moving all day - wasn't kicking my ribs quite as much but its bum is always there just below ribs on right hand side, twerking away Smile I was pretty uncomfortable yesterday actually - spent a lot of time on the ball but was finding my pelvic and lower back pain flaring up worse than it has for weeks, plus some cervical twinges and also feeling quite sicky. So really hoping this is not the story for the next three weeks.

I need to pick up my iron tablet prescription today - after my iron levels have gone down each appointment, yesterday she said I am anaemic - I had been feeling even more exhausted than before (and tiredness has been my main and worst pregnancy symptom the whole time) plus very weak even if just standing up, and short of breath. I hadn't wanted to overreact because it could obviously just be due to busy Christmas and heavier bump but it's nice to know the tablets should give me a boost for the last few weeks.

DH has invited 7 people over for NYE tonight. I'm not thrilled... I'd rather be here than elsewhere but would have preferred it to be just us. Actually 5 of the 7 are fine as I know they'd be happy with a takeaway but the last couple are quite judgemental and I really wish they weren't coming. So today I'm going to have to (slowly!) clean the house. And sort the spare rooms out because he didn't even tell them they have to get taxis home, he's left it open for them to stay if they want. Which also then means hosting them on Thursday - he won't ask them to leave so goodness knows how late they'll stay. I've said I'm not doing anything food wise though, so it's down to him to go to Tesco and prepare whatever he wants to offer. He did try looking through the cupboards and fridge and freezer yesterday but I nearly took his head off - we did have a mammoth grocery delivery yesterday but that's everything we need to have us stocked up in case baby arrives all he to let me make some big batches of stuff for the freezer - he now knows that whatever is in the kitchen now is off-limits for tonight!

What's everyone else doing for NYE? Any big plans or is everyone else having the quiet night in I'm dreaming of?!

I'm going to do some baby name brainstorming (pointless really - I have 3 I keep coming back to so need to convince DH of one rather than try to find more...) then get up and tackle the cleaning...

Have a super day everyone Smile

Cheshire How exciting that you know this is the last day before baby arrives! Sleeping sounds like a great idea but I'd probably be cleaning too Smile Try not to overdo though - you'll need your energy soon enough!

Pesto11 · 31/12/2014 08:31

Oh cheshire sounds so nice knowing that baby is defo coming tmrw!

No plans here
Slept for about 4 hours in total so gna lie in a bit more today...
Head was burrowing away last night... Lady parts aching a lot now!

Too much ice on the cars roads and pavements so have a feeling I'll be cooped up indoors all day.
Lots of housework that I should stop avoiding so should make a start on that later!

Have my 36 week consultant apt & final (probably) scan today. Reckon my wee looks a bit cloudy so hopeful all is well.

Acquired the delightful pre-eclampsia with ds1 and hoping to avoid it this time. We shall see!

Need to have words with consultant who seems to think appropriate response to spd is early induction & epidural; the opposite of what I've read and what the midwives say.

They are more in favour of 'letting nature do its thing' and a water birth.

I'm just confused!

Pesto11 · 31/12/2014 08:39

Midwife appt sounds good sk28

But grr to your dh- yes he can fill cupboards with extra food for breakfast etc! Hopefully ppl will head back tonight or straight after coffee in the morning!

Cherrypi · 31/12/2014 09:17

Lost my voice. Will be a quiet labour if it's today. Smile

Dec2013mummy · 31/12/2014 10:02

sk28 I would have gone mad of Dh had done that! Luckily we just have my parents coming over as with Ds around we can't do a lot anyway (not that I would want to).
Sorry you have lost your voice cherry hope you aren't suffering with it.
Good luck for today henrietta

Nesspot · 31/12/2014 10:22

Happy Hogmanay! Smile

I'm off to a party tonight and actually really looking forward to it. It's been quite the year and a lot has happened but I'm feeling really grateful and in a good place so I'm forgetting all about the wee aches and pains, putting on a sparkly dress/tent and planning on having a good time!

SK - my iron levels have been really low since my bloods were done at 28 weeks. I've been on the triple therapy but be warned, the iron tablets can make you feel awful. For me it was like morning sickness x 1000. I eventually stopped taking them and bought some Spatone instead which is liquid iron you mix with OJ. I was a bit worried that it wouldn't be enough but my iron levels have increased and I feel much better! You have to buy it yourself and it's not cheap but so worth it imo. Hopefully you'll be fine tho but just thought I'd say just in case Smile

Oh, and good luck for tomorrow Cheshire! Smile

chiruri · 31/12/2014 12:18

Good morning all!
Best of luck for tomorrow cheshire! It'll be so lovely to meet your baby. I hope tonight is not too stressful sk28. We have a couple of friends coming over, so I've spending the day pottering around the kitchen preparing food. I actually love cooking so it's not too much of a chore. I'm also watching One Born Every Minute on 4od, which I'm thinking is probably not that wise...

CallingAllEngels · 31/12/2014 12:50

God SK think your DH needs a kick up the backside!

Will be thinking of you tomorrow chesh

Enjoy your party ness - I have actually put on a dress today as have been living in my maternity jeans and wanted to feel a bit mroe special on NYE! No make up yet but the day is young...

I think they can err so much on the side of caution henrietta - hope you're able to get the birth you want and fx no pre-eclampsia.

We are having NYE in - waiting for my parents to arrive from the UK this afternoon. They're not staying with us but looking forward to beig fussed over by my mum for the next few days and my birthday at the end of the week (and perhaps some bonus babysitting so I can get a chance to rest up).

Appt for attempted sweep Friday afternoon and then we'll have to book an induction date.

40+3

Good luck cheshire. Very exciting.

No plans here. I normally like going out nye but DH doesn't. In fact he's glad to have the excuse to stay in.

I could really do with baby coming tomorrow or at the weekend. If it isn't here by Monday it will make things really awkward as DH is back to work and i'll be doing the school run!

cheshirem2b · 31/12/2014 17:02

We aren't doing anything for NYE this year - first quiet one since we got together 10 years ago! Thought we'd better just spend it the two of us as it will be our last chance and we should get sleep in preparation for tomorrow.
DH is asking if he can drink tonight - bless him - I've said yes as baby is quite comfy by the look of things and means I can have a sip of fizz with him later as well! Grin

Dec2013mummy · 31/12/2014 18:36

Oh my gosh.... Just had a massive pop and some trickling water with a huge pain across my stomach! Have put a pad on to see but it sounded like a balloon pop. My waters didn't break last time so I don't know!! Currently bouncing on my ball with Ds bouncing along! So funny.

chiruri · 31/12/2014 18:53

So exciting Dec! Looks like baby is coming before your appt on the 12th.

Pesto11 · 31/12/2014 19:02

Wow exciting dec

I can only imagine the sight of a heavily pregnant lady and a 1 year old bouncing along!

5 hours left of 2014...

Elizadoesdolittle · 31/12/2014 19:05

Yay dec that all sounds very positive.

LittlePink · 31/12/2014 19:37

Wow dec sounds like your waters have well and truly gone with the big pop! Good luck!

Good luck too cheshire for tomorrow. Will be thinking of you.

Staying in tonight and having a hot curry. Sweep has done a big fat zilch so far. No signs whatsoever of anything imminent. Maybe a nice brisk walk in the park tomorrow morning.

Happy new year everyone!

cheshirem2b · 31/12/2014 19:45

Wow Dec! Exciting! My mw said to put a pad on, lie on your left for 20-30mins then get up and walk around for 20mins - if pad is wet it's your waters!

Elizadoesdolittle · 31/12/2014 19:49

My DH has just given me a robotic vacuum cleaner. I hate hoovering all housework so it's the nearest thing I'll get to a cleaner I guess Grin
