Ok I need some more basics then. In smaller sizes. A lot of it was actually given to me by my mother who had kept almost all of our stuff! So that's how I know I was a big baby! My younger sister was much smaller so I have some 0-3 months but these are sizes from 30 years ago!

I'm doing it again... Agonising over details just to avoid looking at the actual labour Grin

As an aside, our baby clothes are still completely intact. I wonder if clothes nowadays would last that long!

Ikkleme and Readyfordinner I have added you to the group. I've also added someone else but not sure who it is. If you've friend requested Jan Babies please can you check your FB inbox?

SK28 · 02/12/2014 17:41

Bilbo If any clothes don't show weight anywhere on main label or laundry instruction label, most websites will have a size guide that includes age and weight and maybe even length. I've returned to Vertbaudet website to check their size guide sooo many times!

madrigals I know, I'm very lucky. And the best thing is, I have 2 huge suitcases full of baby clothes from my sister and my babyhood! Lot of it is from Petit Bateau too, as mum and dad used to live near their factory shop back then Grin But the rest is all supermarket bought and still looks like it's been bought this year?!? And yet it's been boil washed so many times! I bet I won't be able to keep baby Bilbo's clothes for that long, but that my baby clothes could probably be used for my grandchildren Grin

How great to have the bib! I just love family heirlooms. It doesn't have to be an expensive item. Just something that comes from past generations.

SK I can't believe I didn't think of that! I do it all the time when knitting and I need to decide what size to knit! I feel a bit guilty admitting it but I actually can't wait to dress my baby up Blush She's got so many cute things!

BilboTheAlmighty · 03/12/2014 04:33

That's a good start madrigals with the hospital bag! Do you thin that'd be ott to have the car seat ready in the car from 36 weeks onward? I know before that they'll want to keep baby in hospital so we wouldn't really need the car seat. But after 36 weeks, it could happen any time! And I'd hate to wait at the hospital whilst DH go get the car seat from home (we live 40 minutes away from the hospital!).

Dec2013mummy · 03/12/2014 06:07

Hi all. I have got so excited reading about all of bag packing that's going on. It's really not going to be long before we all meet our little bundles of joy. Grin I wonder who will have the first jan baby (not necessarily in jan)! I have told baby that it has an eviction notice after 37 weeks, but that it is not allowed to come between 18th and 2nd!! I don't know that it listened though.
I have now packed my bag. bilbo I think having the car seat ready is a great idea. As soon as my new one is delivered (I have 2 already but decided on the britax double and so needed a britax one) I will be installing it. I did with Ds. All these little things just take that added pressure off.
I'm getting so fed up of the constant bh now. Some are getting quite uncomfortable and carting around a 28lb 12 month old is not helping! Ds has also woken twice again tonight. I honestly think this little bean will sleep through before he does! He's so cute and such a contented little boy though so I'm not complaining too much Smile
We have 2 parties at ours, one on sat and one the following Sunday. This weekend is for Ds birthday and all family is invited but I don't know how many are coming( myself and Dh have huge families... My side potentially 40 people and Dh probably about 60) so I am hoping they don't all turn up at once!! ( they have been told to 'drop in') then the following weekend is my extended family on my mums side, who live all over the place, so about 30 people (including 6 under 5's) so that should be fun! Here's hoping I don't go into labor for at least 2 weeks! I must be mad Grin

Dec2013mummy · 03/12/2014 06:09

Oh and I agree, glad people are still posting here Smile
35+3 (that number is creeping up, had to do a double take myself)!

I agree with the car seat. We are collecting ours with the pram on Saturday so am going to fit the seat and base ready. Mum & Dad have offered to store the pram at their house until baby arrives so we have no room... Very kind of them but I want to play! Grin

for you ladies hosting big parties you're braver than me! We're meeting dh family and going out for dinner on 21 dec. my parents are coming to us on Christmas day and doing the lunch. dh is doing his last day at the cathedral on Christmas morning so I'll be looked after by parents. I genuinely cannot wait for Christmas this year! Grin

BilboTheAlmighty · 03/12/2014 10:40

So I'll be putting the car seat in then! I at least want the base in as we have to juggle the leg with the darn footwell! Angry

Dec Where do you get the energy to throw parties? Shock I feel so lazy moaning I have to stay and supervise the odd job man and make him tea Blush

Christmas will again be very quiet. DH will be working the whole week anyway. But my sister is visiting so we will have a sisterly Christmas, just the 2 of us Smile

I have zero social commitments between now and EDD. Haven't even made Christmas day plans, though may pop to ILs for coffee in the morning if baby hasn't arrived yet (no travel time...they live next door!).

I have just pulled the car seat out of storage and the pram. Need to find the instructions to put it back together now!

CallingAllEngels · 03/12/2014 12:34

100 guests dec ?! Shock

KateTheHuman · 03/12/2014 12:36

The pjs I ordered don't fit! Well they'd fit if there wasn't a huge bump haha. Now having to rethink. Probably now just going to take my usual stretchy pjs and buy a new breastfeeding friendly top. At least my new pjs will be nice for when bump has gone. :)

Trust me, I am very much low on energy, but I haven't had any energy for well over a year now, first because of pregnancy, then Ds as a newborn (he was very poorly and would only sleep on someone or in the car) and now chasing around after him as he is crawling everywhere and starting to walk. He keeps getting into the cupboards today as well and is refusing to nap so I'm feeling extra exhausted!! So basically I have learnt to run on empty! I am also very lucky I have a great Dh and parents, but they all work stupidly long hours (as does everyone I think these days) so they help when they can. I forgot I also have everyone coming on Boxing Day. Dh is cooking up a slap up meal so that should be good. Oooohhh I do love Christmas Smile so many exciting things to come.
On another note, the pushchair and car seat etc came this morning. It was like it was my birthday. I have already put it together, with Ds climbing all over it. I had to buy a new one as I needed a double and wanted a travel system as it was a godsend with Ds to be able to just get him out the far in his seat and plonk it on the frame. With Ds to get out too this time, I smiled nicely at Dh to get a whole new system. He is so good, he was happy as long as I was.
On another note, does anyone have names? With Ds we had a list and then in labor decided on a completely different one altogether. This time I just can't think of any boys names at all an only a couple of girls names we agree on. With Ds we had boys names and no girls names. We haven't found out the axe either time so I'm wondering if it's trying to tell me something!!
Oh and mad it's ace to have another due date buddy!! I wonder how different out actual birth dates will be!

Just caught up. I have no clothes under 0-3 months. Apparently I'm having a heffalump so not sure about getting anything smaller. Sorting out a going home outfit for bub is going to be hard. What if they don't fit? Do you get the same thing in different sizes or buy different options?

kate just a word of warning, I was told Ds was going to be over 10lb, he was 7lb 12 and then because he was I'll dropped a 1lb within just a week. He ten struggled to out weight on for a while. He soon caught up though.... He is now 28lb at 12 months Shock

LittlePink · 03/12/2014 13:36

I don't know how many times ive asked DH to get the car seat out of the garage so I can clean it all up. The swing is in there too so that needs freshening up too. A tip- get a swing. I found it a lifesaver when DD wouldn't nap. It would give me a bit of a break for a while to move off the sofa without having to sit and hold her all the time. She would cat nap in it to give me enough time to have a shower or make a cup of tea.

Im really fed up with our cat at the moment. Think its a weird pregnancy thing, my mum said she had the same thing when she was pregnant with me and went right off cats (she loves cats). The cat has become really clingy and just wants to sit on me and follow me around (when DD isn't around. She doesn't like DD at all!) I find it really claustrophobic and as I cant sit still for more than 2 mins at a time because im so uncomfortable it means I cant move if the cats asleep on me. Also another moan is I washed the bouncer thats been up in the loft and packed it full of things so she couldn't sleep in it but DD must have moved everything out without me seeing so the next minute the cat was asleep in it and now its covered with cat fur and dirt from the garden so i'll have to do it again. It was one of those oh for gods sake moments! I love my cat so to feel irritated by her doesn't feel normal at all.

Little Pink I'm the same with our gorgeous old moggy...

cheshirem2b · 03/12/2014 18:17

Awwww! Poor pussy cats! I've become more fond of mine than before (if that's really possible)! All this talk of prams is very exciting. I went shopping with my mum to get the last of the baby and hospital bag things... Might have bought Lamaze toys for baby as well! Grin

cheshirem2b · 04/12/2014 08:29

Scan this afternoon to see how big baby is... gd readings have been fine so fx baby has followed the line s/he was on of 70th percentile. We'll also be told whether they will induce early or let me go to 40w. I know I shouldn't wish induction but I would love the certainty of an arrival date and would really love my baby asap!
In other news 36w today!
