catgirl · 16/10/2006 14:56

catgirl · 16/10/2006 14:57

congrats emzickle too - another lovely name - girls catching up with boys??

agrimum · 16/10/2006 15:05

Feeling really tired and frustrated. So booked myself in for a reflexology session on Wednesday afternoon. Told the therapist I would try anything to get going, and even if that doesn't work it my help my swollen and aching feet/ankles.

Congratulations to the latest arrivals,

clon · 16/10/2006 15:42

Hello all

Congratulattions em and jmc, good to see the girls catching up!

Lovely pictures swizzler and gemmy.

No nothing here gimgeme, not due til Friday, have been getting some period type pains on and off but that's it.

After my clening frenzy of last week I'm now on a cooking one, I really must learn just to put my feet up and get my mum to cook lots of stuff when she gets here next week!

I feel with all this house stuff I've neglected the baby prep so just popping out to Mothercare as I don't think I have enough vests!

youngmum21 · 16/10/2006 15:58

well done emzickle ave fun with baby lola and take it easy xx

DogMum · 16/10/2006 15:59

Lovely photo Swizzler. What a sweetie. On a connected note, are we supposed to take hats to the hospital? Only no one's mentioned it, but all the new baby photos seem to have hats on. Help! I feel as though I'm a bad mum and I haven't even started yet.

Agrimum - yes I'm glad I'm going to be able to get veterinary treatment for the baby on the NHS. It's bad enough having to fork out for one member of the family!

Gingeme, your DH is so understanding. My DP has refused to have anything to do with grooming, so it's whatever I can manage (frankly not much )

Popsi, I'd go if I felt all right and if the local hospital there was ok in case of need. Do you have air conditioning in the car? I think I'd be more concerned about swollen feet from the car journey, but it's probably do-able.

Thanks Emmy, I feel fine but no closer to delivering. Sounds as though things might be starting with your erm 'clear-out.' Fingers-crossed.

Congratulations JMC. It might not feel like the best timing, but I'm sure the joy she brings will be a comfort to everyone. Congratulations emzickle as well - does that make it 8-all? (blimey - are there really that many babies here already!)

Gingeme · 16/10/2006 16:10

Oh hi clon, oh shame your not pushing your little one out yet.
Congratulations emzickle. A beautiful name Lola.A tiny little sweety. How lovely
Yes nicand2 the front underneath my bupm is a little sore. I had my shower this morning and it felt a little sore when I dried myself. Just have to make sure its dry properly and put a little moisturiser or baby powder under 'there'.
My dh has a long weekend off this coming wkend. Were going to attempt goign to the baby show at Earls court. My cousin went last year and said it was lovely and they had seats every few stalls to sit on and loads to drink and eat and free samples. And a creche. Might be worth a look. Mum moaned and said its not a very good idea considering. But then I never listen to my Mum .

Swizzler · 16/10/2006 16:29

Congratulations Emzickle! Another girl to even things up

Dogmum: a hat was on my hospital list. Mws v keen on them - the one who visited today was concerned William wasn't wearing one in the house. We took him out for a little walk today and he looked v. cute in his cardigan and matching hat knitted by yours truly

Sounds like more will be joining the postnatal group soon - best of luck

nicand2 · 16/10/2006 17:22

Just got back from mw and feel so dis heartened.

The sweep wassn't too bad but she wasn't really able to do much as my cervix wasn't at all soft. I've now got to see a consultant on Weds as I'm measuring 43 weeks but she said it's quite unusual for a second pg to not be able to do any 'sweeping' I knew my original dates of 20th were right but even so that makes it a v large baby!!.

I've got my induction booked for next Tuesday but she didn't even sound hopeful that I would deliver on Tuesday. I feel as if I will be pregnant forever now. I was hoping for a nice swift labour at about 37 weeks as everyone had said second babies were much quicker, now it feels like everything is going to be complicated.

Oh I could sit and cry if I didn't have to go and sort out tea for DS.

BENDYB · 16/10/2006 17:31

hi every1!
congratulations jmc & emzickle. lovely names 2, all the babies that have been born have such nice names! Oh & gorgeous pics gemmity & swizzler, ur babies r beautiful!

Wuzz & youngmum- had my curry on sat, made it extra hot! Nothin has happened! Also ate a whole pineapple after & have been walkin loads & even was desperate enough 2 try having sex last nite! Still nothin!!! I dont even believe any of these things anymore bout gettin things started! Has any1 actually done any & it worked??!! The pineapple thing tho i'm sure i heard somewhere that u would have 2 eat 6 or 7 pineapples 4 that 2 work! Any1 no if thats true?! I have still got 2 weeks 2 go tho so maybe if I try all this again next week it might work!

Saw midwife 2day, she said the head is 4/5ths engaged, & I asked her bout the weight & she said even having a scan can be so far off the actual weight when they are born, & she just said not 2 worry about it. I still am tho! I'm scared its gonna weigh bout 10pound somethin! She said she really doesn't like 2 guess by feelin it but if she had 2 guess she'd say it could be bout 8pounds when its born. Thats just a guess tho & really i think she only said it coz i kept goin on bout it!

sorry its long, hope ur all ok, catch u all later, off 2 have a bath now, x

BENDYB · 16/10/2006 17:34

sorry 2 hear things aren't goin well 4 u nicand2 hope ur ok. x

Swizzler · 16/10/2006 19:00

Nicand2: surely the mw can't predict the size on your measurements alone? Wouldn't they swnd you for a scan if they were concerned? Hope you get some further info soon.

Congrtaulations JMC and Emzickle on your new little bundles and lovely to see the photos of Darius and Baby Swizzler. Makes me quite broody...

Already a week late and waqs hoping the sweep tomorrow may get things into action but Nicand2 you have made me think differently. This is my second too and everyone said that they are usually early and the fact that I have a small age gap between the babies was meant to make things even easier and quicker. But no such luck. I honestly do not feel POG anymore and have started sleeping on my back as opposed to on my side and don't even feel uncomfortable in doing so.

Does anyone know whether if you have been induced with your first baby it means that you will most probably be induced with second or is that not necessarily the case? Even though next Monday will be Day 14 I bet they will induce me then. Baby is 4/5 engaged but can remain so for ages, can't they.

There - had my moan. Will shut up now and try to look at things more positively! How much are tickets to the baby show? I bet you could get loads of goodies if your waters broke there. may go and camp out there on Friday!

Gingeme · 16/10/2006 20:38

Oh dont be too disheartened ladies the little ones will arrive when theyre good and ready. Though thats not much help when your fat and fed up.
The tickets are £14 per adult and kids up to 10 years old go free. Its on 20th-22nd Oct. Im looking forward to it. Just to see what freebies I could pick up and special offers simply for the fact Im huge .

girlygale1 · 16/10/2006 20:56

Congratulations em and jmc - beautiful names too!

Can't remember who was asking but I have also been having really strong braxton hicks and period pains that wake me most nights - I think this is it ... and then nothing. Getting really annoyed by them now!

I am due today according to my dates ... still a week until scan dates ... am ignoring those though - what do these scan people really know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh the joys of being fat and uncomfortable!"

Good luck to those of you who go into labour tonight!

DogMum · 17/10/2006 08:06

Thanks for the advice on hats, ladies. Will get my humongous belly to the shops asap.

Hope today sees a few more of us put out of our misery. (not me though, I need to go shopping.)

Popsi · 17/10/2006 09:15

Congratulations em & jmc.
I've put in a hat too.
Picked DD up from nursery yesterday & they had already sent 3 other children home with chicken pox! Now I'm quite worried as she's not had it yet. I've had chicken pox so I don't think there's any problems with me or baby while it's inside - apart from it's bad timing, but what if she got it & was still infectious when baby was born? Also not sure who would be able to look after her if she had chicken pox when I went into labour! It's probably all a big worry about nothing - I could keep her off nursery but I've still got a couple of days work to get done this week before I finish.

marthahm · 17/10/2006 09:28

popsi, my friend's 2 year old got chicken pox 2-3 days before his mum went into labour. the new baby has the immunity from the mother as long as the mother has had chicken pox. it was a big pain up the bum because jo wasn't feeling too good but otherwise they coped amazingly well. i think if you're lucky with chicken pox in kids the worst is over within a day or two, but i know there are some far more experienced women on the site who'll know more. try not to get too woried by it, although i know that at this stage everything becomes much more worrying.
i have a hat in the baby bag too.

wuzzlefraggle · 17/10/2006 10:30

Congratulations Emzickle! what a lovely name

Bendy - i had a hot chicken madras last night...no baby yet lol.
im going out for a little shop today and im going to get some raspberry leaf thingies, a gym ball etc, so thats a few hours walking...hmmm, to pineapple or not to pineapple...that is the question

went to see the midwife last night and she said that the period pains are a good thing and that the baby is down low too...tip she gave me is to make sure that i always sit with my knees lower than my pelvis, that way it encourages the baby to keep down low and gives the baby more room too.

hope every1's well and im sending labour vibes to all

youngmum21 · 17/10/2006 11:47

hi all,

Feeling really fed up to day 13 days till due date!!!
Is any one else getting pains in their pelvic area i had some really sharp pain last nite just wondering if any one cud shed any light on this!!! xx

Gingeme · 17/10/2006 12:32

youngmum21 know how you feel. Totaly fed up now/ Woke up this morning and for a few seconds forgot I was pg and turned over on bed then realised another day of feeling heavy and tired. Set up the moses basket yesterday and my ds got straight in it and started making baby noises. Git him out and told him its for his baby brother. He patted it this morning and said'for baby brother'. Not alot to report here. Been getting loads of bh but thats about it. Not sure what the shooting pain is youngmum but its all good signs I think. Well gonna make ds some lunch before he falls asleep. Have a good one ladies xx

Gingeme · 17/10/2006 12:33

Obviously being pregnant affects your ability to spell too. x
