Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 14th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 29th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal clubs here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates! It's a bit quiet at the moment, but with all these upduffed viroids hopefully it won't be for long!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

So, roll call below please, viroids!

Chat your contractions were 10mins apart and then you had a baby 4 hours later? Totally not fair. I'm hoping for that this time round. Ooh Ness maybe in 4 hours time...

Think you're supposed to be on at least 2-3 cups per day aren't you Min? That's why I thought capsules might be easier. I found it quite bitter tasting.

Yeah I think I need better pillows.

Agree that if you're up and awake get bouncing on that ball or walking about Ness.

wilmabedrock · 09/11/2014 07:39

Oh and yes to the hiccuping. I've not really had any yet this time round.

Minion · 09/11/2014 07:48

I believe so wil, I was a bit worried the Toni's would start so kept to one cup for the last week! but today I put on my big girl pants and move to 2-3. Thing is I hate hot drinks, so I have to wait ages to be able to swallow the stuff.
except hot choc
especially costa black forests got choc
I had one yesterday
I'm addicted

Leela5 · 09/11/2014 07:56

takes break from lurking

Eek! Good luck ness this sounds exciting! Will check back later hoping for news.

furry happy due date!

zing glad to hear it's all going well with Elijah Grin

Well done on having a poo dulcet (feels quite wrong writing that)

off to lurk again

Nessalina · 09/11/2014 07:59

Four hours Chat! Shock That's speedy!

I got up and made a bagel with peanut butter Smile Sat up in bed now with a cuppa and DH snoring like a warthog. Will get on the ball in a bit!

Definitely little contractions I think. They're very backachey and I'm having to stop what I'm doing reading MN and breathe through them. Hoping this is the real deal and not a false start, but it's definitely a step in the right direction.

Tempted to poke DH, but he looks so peaceful. He'll be well excited if he's going to get out of work tomorrow Grin

I must be alone in finding baby hiccups really weird Confused I think it's the involuntariness of them. I hate sitting there thinking 'has he stopped or will there be another one?' I know this makes me strange.

Eeeek ness this is exciting! Any updates?

I really really need a wee, but I know if I go to the toilet DD will get up and announce its morning. She's laid in her bed very quiet at the minute and it would be a shame to spoil it...I need a potty

laurenamium · 09/11/2014 08:03

Sorry cross posted ness! Wake him up! I would but I'm mean and love a good excuse to wake DP up Grin

DulcetMoans · 09/11/2014 08:06

Ooooooohhhh ness, exciting! You didn't describe it as painful yet do that's reassuring. I obviously don't know much about what happens at that end of the cycle, when do you go to hospital? (If you are going!)

Come in la, we can just sit in the corner quietly. Don't worry!

I woke up early again but didn't get up-up (like out-out). Trying not to shuffle too much and wake up DH but the later it gets the more bouncy I am becoming.

Nessalina · 09/11/2014 08:24

I'm timing the contractions on a app! Grin We are heading to hospital at some point (where we will hopefully get to play in the birthing pool!) so I guess we just wait until the contractions a) get more frequent (every 5mins) and b) hurt a lot more.

It's weird. When one's not happening I can quite convince myself that nothing's going on.

Snooker final's on at 1pm, I'll be a bit sad if I miss it, the semi-finals were v.exciting Grin

wilmabedrock · 09/11/2014 08:26

Well I thought you phoned in to the hospital when contractions were 5 mins apart but a midwife looked at me in horror and said that was too early Confused . I don't really know either Dulcet, I guess when you can't cope with the pain anymore. My hospital is 2 mins away so it wouldn't be too much of a trauma to go up and be sent home again.

Haha Lauren, I know the toilet dilemma well. You have to get in before 6am really. Any time after that is a risk.

Have you had a show or anything Ness? Now might be the time to start sitting on a waterproof sheet Grin

Min I'm going to need more details of this hot chocolate. I have become addicted to mint ones recently but that one sounds interesting.

cookielove · 09/11/2014 08:32

Oooh ness have fun :)

zing my Elijah is almost 12 weeks (on wed) he was 6 weeks early so also only 6 weeks Confused Grin

Nessalina · 09/11/2014 08:33

Way ahead of you Min, perched on an incontinence pad as we speak! Grin I've had them on the bed for a couple of weeks coz my Mum's waters went in bed with both labours!

My NCT teacher said that generally if you can sit up and talk during a contraction, you're not progressed enough to go to hospital. When you're on all fours during contractions 'mooing like a cow' then you're about ready to go! Grin

Currently they're lasting about a minute, and they're every 8mins or so, and not at all bad, so I reckon I've got a while yet.

OP posts:
Nessalina · 09/11/2014 08:34

No, no show yet!

OP posts:
Leela5 · 09/11/2014 08:35

This...is...so...exciting!!!

Minion · 09/11/2014 08:37

wil tradition dictates that when it's gets Baltic I stop whatever I'm doing, haul ass to Costa and indulge in a medium hot choc, with cherry shot and cherry syrup, smothered in cream and sprinkles and served with whatever choc treat is on show.
Yesterday, a gooey muffin.
Delightful!

Once my leave starts I shall be actively reviewing hot chocs on offer from all our major coffee establishments..
The honey and almond one from Starbucks sounds worthy of a visit into town alone. However it may have coffee in it, so I'll just put both shots into a actual hot choc. and wonder why I can't shift the baby weight afterwards

ness smooth or crunchy PB? I used to champion the smooth but the last few years I'm all about the crunch. There's a jar in my cupboard, bought this thurs gone with not much left in it... Proper loves PB me. I'd be gutted if the rugrat had an allergy.

Question about hospital parking if you will... When we go to visit, we pay, which is freaking scandalous if you ask me. When we go to give birth, what happens? Do we pay by the hour or get a free pass etc? Could turn out to be v expensive?

ness get that phone on charge! and camera and ipad (other tablets are available), so excited for you!

cookielove · 09/11/2014 08:41

I could talk through my contractions! But then none of the midwives thought I was contracting Hmm I did however get and epidural at 4cms it was then a walk in the park not that I could actually walk to be fair I had been in pain for the last 6 days is so getting to 4cms was good.

Hope you get a water birth! How many pools are at your hospital?

laurenamium · 09/11/2014 08:43

Min in my hospital there's 2 emergency spaces for people in actual labour. You can get away with a car there for a night but after that you have to put it in a proper paid for space. You can buy passes from somewhere for £10-£15 I think (but this was 4 years ago) which lasts a little longer so better value if you have to stay in...but all together an absolute rip off I agree!

laurenamium · 09/11/2014 08:44

I talked through my contractions too Smile was only when it came to pushing I didn't. I did spend a lot of it on my hands and knees though so must have been painful!

Nessalina · 09/11/2014 08:46

I'm all about the crunchy SunPat. Going through a jar a week at the minute! Grin

Hospital parking is a nightmare! It depends where you are, but where we are, if you're actually in labour there's 5/6 delivery suite spaces that get an hour free. The idea being that you park up, get settled in, then DP can move the car. Then it's crazy expensive! DH doesn't mind a walk, so he's planning to park for free nearby and walk back (prob have to be at least ten mins away). The big issue is that there's only a few of these 1hr slots and they're usually all full!

OP posts:
wilmabedrock · 09/11/2014 08:46

Ooh yes, definitely charge up phone. We must be updated in between contractions Grin . Aaaargh good luck Ness, wishing you a swift and minimally painful delivery. Although if you do end up mooing like a cow, record it for the good of the thread Wink .

Min that pretty much sounds like the best use of mat leave I've ever heard. Now wishing I was starting mine imminently. Talking of which, at which point is it helpful and not depressing to start a mat leave countdown? Just realised I have 7 1/2 weeks to go. I don't think that sounds too long. Although I'm very scared about the lack of money that goes along with it.

Nessalina · 09/11/2014 08:48

There's three birth pools at the hospital, one is v.big and jazzy Grin
They only have about 15 water births a month at the minute though, so they're quite under-used. They're pretty strict about who can use them apparently, so hoping I'm good enough Hmm

OP posts:
wilmabedrock · 09/11/2014 08:50

Is it the wrong time to say anyone can park for free for 4 hours at our hospital? In fact I quite often pop up to the m&s/costa there when peckish. If you are staying longer than that, you just have to go to the desk and get a special permit to put up. (Also free).

Nessalina · 09/11/2014 08:53

Jealous! That's well good.

OP posts:
DulcetMoans · 09/11/2014 09:09

That is good wil! Is it only a little hospital? Guess not with a costa and M&S!

Ours is all about the money. There are residential roads around it but they are 2hrs tops. I could walk it in 15mins which I do now when I go for bloods and clinic but not sure that would work in labour!

Fx for your water pool ness!

RPopz · 09/11/2014 09:11

Eeek Ness!! First time this week I have a lie in and you go into labour!! Grin Exciting times.

Our hospital you go when there's 3 in 10 mins apparently... or 3 in 5? Should probably find out!! And no free parking for labourers... one piddly drop off space while you get settled and then the DH has to bugger off and find more parking. Easier said than done in rush hour city, I was a bit... Hmm Angry They recommend getting dropped off apparently.

No Toni Braxtons yet Wil ... I'm not sure I was having/ noticing them before though tbh!
