cuphat I had a corpus luteum cyst on left side last pregnancy- showed up on early scan. I was told it was because that was the side I ovulated from and that it is totally normal.

cuphat · 25/10/2014 20:46

Thanks Guy. As most people don't have early scans it seems that most people don't realise they have them and that they often get discovered if people have an early scan at EPU due to pain on one side.

Chookford · 25/10/2014 21:14

mrsk congrats! That's great news

bingo congrats and welcome!

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 25/10/2014 21:18

Congratulations to new arrivals and hugs to those who are worried. It's such a worrying time this... I remember being determined last time that if there was ever another time I'd relax more!! One mc later and then with the big bleed this time I am not sticking to my own advice!

We have ILs staying, although they're actually staying at a b&b as we don't have any room. Nice to see them although I am shattered and not being very good value! I have cooked loads though so at least we're well fed and tomorrow's meals are almost sorted too. Bless them, they left about twenty minutes ago so I could go to bed. Dd was up a lot last night with constipation related pain so I might just do as they suggested...

Phryn · 25/10/2014 21:22

Early scan booked for next tues ...8 weeks ish :/

JennyOfOldstones · 25/10/2014 22:39

Hurray mrsk and welcome bingo!

My stomach has also been upset, either one way or the other and lots of painful trapped wind! My stomach is gurgling so much it woke DP up in the night!

Great news MrsK and Bingo.

MrsE I hope you're doing ok.

I'm something ridiculous like 5+5 and I'm exhausted. Well, during the day I am. I'm having afternoon naps, I can't drag my arse off the sofa etc etc. but when I come to bed I'm ok. Could read/MN/FB for hours. Grrrrrrrr! So frustrating. Poor dd is having lots of exploratory play while I parent from the sofa and DH is doing extra round the house, and then when I come to bed I feel like a proper fraud. And I know I'll be knackered tomorrow but I just can't switch off.

I keep reminding myself this is preferable to sickness. Hope those of you struggling are enjoying a rest this weekend.

teeniedeenie34 · 26/10/2014 00:08

Hi ladies! Can I join please? I got my BFP on Friday morning and have worked out my EDD is 30th June 2015. Today I am 4w+4 and this is my first pregnancy.

Thanks ots and bingo it's nice to know you understand how it feels too. I'm laying awake here worrying about everything, urgh.

ots · 26/10/2014 06:19

Yawn! DS woke up at 4.50am. DH said, well that's quite good cos yesterday it would have been 5.50am! Yes but today its 4.50 and I'm exhausted. We take it in turns at the weekend to have a lay in, and today is DH's turn. Typically on my turn yesterday DS didn't wake up til 7!

Had a few aches and pains in my back and stomach, but as my period would have been due this week I'm not overly worried. My symptoms, particularly nausea are hanging around with a vengeance so taking that as a good sign.

Hope the insomnia bunch aren't feeling too tired and are making the most of your extra hour. First time mums, enjoy this, its the last time ever that an extra hour actually means that!

Zaccheryquack · 26/10/2014 07:07

Good luck with the event Smug. Sounds exciting if a little exhausting!

Welcome Bingo and Teenie. Teenie - wonder if your baby will be the last June arrival Smile.

So glad you had good news Mrs K.

ots we take it in turns for lie ins at weekends too. I have been having more than my fair share the last week or so because I seem to be awake lots in the night but felt so bad this morning and got up because dh is looking a bit tired. Think all my waking up is disturbing him too!

Think I was wrong about craving the same foods as my last pregnancy. After the relatively sophisticated craving for sushi last time, all I can think about at the moment is strawberry yoghurt, tangerines and watered down orange juice! My dad is staying this weekend and he has not said anything but am wondering if it is obvious. Especially as when I grilled salmon on Friday night, I took one bite and couldn't touch it and asked everyone if it was off (it wasn't!).

Pas - also trying to hide my slightly below par hosting skills with lots of nice food this weekend. As soon as it is 10pm I am running to bed and probably yawning incredibly rudely for the hour before that!

Weird new symptom of having a horrible taste in my mouth since last night. Is that a pregnancy symptom? May go and Google now....

bubalou · 26/10/2014 07:36

Hey all,

Hope you're all well. Had the busiest couple of days ever and am exhausted. We've put our house up for sale and the open day was yesterday and we were sooo busy getting it ready, DS had a football match and a party to go to and we had to pick my car up from it's service at the garage 20 miles away.

However my sickness although bad at times is better. I'm actually eating protein which I couldn't do at all with DS for the first 3 months!

Yesterday I had a massive Nandos. It was awesome. Olives, humours and pitta, chicken wrap and peri chips. Smile

Felt too full after but it was worth it.

No real cravings here - just a need for things like cold red grapes, lemonade ice lollies etc.

I'm 8+2 now. I definitely have more of a podge then I did with DS this far along although after initially losing 5lbs due to sickness I'm only down about 1lb now from my pre pregnancy weight which is good.

Really hope everyone else is doing well and has lovely plans for today.

Smile
BingoBonkers · 26/10/2014 07:41

Funny tasting food and heightened sense of smell are classic symptoms. Symptoms I had last week and failed to spot. Muppet!

MrsExtraOrdinary · 26/10/2014 07:46

Morning all, well yesterday was the day from hell. What could go wrong did go wrong. So hoping for a better day today. I managed to pull off dinner for friends even though I couldn't eat it. And my stomach problems are the perfect excuse not to drink so that was cool. Even found a good dress to disguise my bulging bump. Everything I put on, dh streamed out pregnant!!! Anyway think I was ok until after they went I noticed a hospital letter plain for all to see on the side outlining my iron treatment in the third trimester. Not sure if they read it?! But they didn't mention it if they did. What a doofus!

Rockinghorse123 · 26/10/2014 08:28

Hi all haven't read the full 2 threads but could I join please?
I was on the may thread but I had a big bleed at 4+3 and a BFN following it. Then about a fortnight ago I started to feel really tired and sick. I realised I hadn't had a period since the early mc and thought I'd do a test because I had one in the cupboard just to rule pregnancy out. Was very shocked to get a BFP! So 5 tests and a doctor's appointment later I finally feel safe saying I'm definitely pregnant! Grin

GP thinks I've probably just been very lucky and got pregnant very quickly following the miscarriage last month but they will hopefully send me for my scan at 10 weeks just incase I'm further along than I think. EDD is 21 June.

Phryn · 26/10/2014 08:46

MrsE hope you have a better day today!

Welcome rocking and congratulations! I'm another person who got pregnant during the WTF cycle after a miscarriage so I know how weird and unsettling it can feel! The thread is really supportive so do join us! Smile Wishing you a healthy pregnancy with a super sticky bean.

HariboBrenshnio · 26/10/2014 09:03

Congratulations rocking!

I'm 9+3 and yesterday started getting pins and needles in my left hand and the arm is feeling weak. Mr Google suggests carpol tunnel, has anyone had this before? I didn't get it with DS. It's not painful the hand and arm is very weak.

Hope those not feeling great can have a restful Sunday x

AnythingNotEverything · 26/10/2014 09:21

I had carpal tunnel towards the end of my last pregnancy and in the early months after birth too. Your GP or me can refer you for Physio and can get you a splint to wear at night. I'd seek help as you want to continue to be able to pick up DS I'm sure! I believe you can have injections to relieve any pain but early treatment can prevent this being needed.

I found being very careful with my hand and wrist positioning while on my iphone helped (avoiding "iphone claw"), as did sleeping with flat palms rather than scrunched up fists.

Sorry - I know that sounds all doom and gloom but it only gets worse without treatment and I know how active DS is!

BingoBonkers · 26/10/2014 09:27

I did Haribo but later on in pregnancy and it was on and off but in just the one arm/hand.

Hi Rocking! Congrats!

Looking forward to getting to know everyone on here. I've not RTFT yet.

Pregnancy calculator says 6 weeks today. Still feel sick. Having to look after the DC is hard whilst feels rough. Took it completely for granted being pregnant without any children to care for. Oh how I would love to spend the afternoon on the sofa watching TV doing nothing. Saying that I have found keeping busy tends to help. Also makes me more tired but doing stuff to occupy my mind does help. I've also been eating the children's gingerbread men.

Guess I has make a GP appt and get the ball rolling. My last two pregnancies I knew right away and that made, for me, long pregnancies so this time being unaware for almost six weeks might make the time go quicker. It won't but trying to be positive.

Anybody to anything exciting today?

ots · 26/10/2014 09:29

haribo I've had pain in my right hand for a week or so, I didn't even think it could be something pregnancy related. Just googled, Carpal Tunnel does sound likely, and says it affects up to 60% of pregnant women. I might speak to the GP or MW if it doesn't go away. I know how bad it can be, my step dad needed surgery a few years ago.

Congratulations rocking, there are quite a few of us here following a MC so you will have lots of support :)
