Hi ladies

I've been lurking, please can I join?

I got a BFP a few weeks ago with EDD of 16 June.

I had an early scan yesterday at 6+1 and sonographer 'def saw a little person in there' and thought a flicker of heartbeat but my uterus is so tilted I need to go back in 2 weeks!

I have a complex obstetric history (lost DS1 at 22 weeks in 2009, very lucky to have healthy DD in 2011 but long labour ended up in crash c-section and 3.5 litre blood loss). I've always been so worried about later on in pg that I forgot how nerve racking these early days are too Hmm

I promise I won't go on about my complicated history as I know how nerve racking just a normal pg can be. I'm hoping for some friendly pregnancy chat/support and you ladies all seem lovely.

Hello Iwant, gosh you have been through a lot. Please don't worry about oversharing. There's a real mix of us here as in sure you've read.

jazzyjenbo · 24/10/2014 12:05

Good luck to all having scans, tests or just general worry today!

I am 9+3 today according to my dates which is the same gestation as i was last pg when i went for scan which confirmed mmc.

This time is very different and i'm beginning to feel more confident... Still waiting on a letter with 12 week scan date (will b 12 weeks on 11/11)

Fluff, birth centres are fab (in theory) and i am low risk but ds had complications during labour so i transferred to maternity and wanted dd on birth centre but it was closed to new admission when i went into labour so had her on central delivery aswell... Last room available and i'm sure was normally a stock room!! It wasnt set up like i would expect at all and looked like a bed, cot and resus equipment was just shoved in there with boxes and boxes of gloves/wipes etc etc!! Wink

This time i'll try for birth centre again but tbh as long as baby arrives safely not really bothered where it is!! Grin

Hey all.

Sorry for those going through a bad time at the moment.Sad

I had my early scan today. Confirmed I am 8 weeks, good heartbeat and everything looked ok.

I was soooooo nervous. So much more then with DS.

Hopefully time won't go so slowly now that's out of the way. Phoned local midwife unit and they took all my details. Going to send me a letter for booking in appointment and 12 week scan. Smile

Good news bubalou. Smile Would you believe it just as I get my private scan booked for next Saturday so my abdominal scan is booked for exact same day to see what's going on in my stomach. Well at least that gets it out the way all in one day. You'd think wouldn't you that while I'm having the nhs scan they'd be abject have s look at the baby. But no that would be too efficient for the nhs.

iwantkhaleesiseyebrows · 24/10/2014 14:08

Thanks for the warm welcome ladies Smile

Great news for the scans Grin

I'm actually at work so best get on but just wanted to drop in quickly.

This thread moves so quickly I will look forward to catching up later

Chookford · 24/10/2014 14:44

buba congrats on the scan lovely news!

I have my 12week scan appointment through, it's the 12th Nov I will be 12 + 3 so now the anxiety starts all over again!! Boooo

AnythingNotEverything · 24/10/2014 15:58

Great news on the scan Bub. Hope other scans are going well.

I've just woken up from a 2.5 hour nap. What am I going to do when in back at work in two weeks?! Feeling a little better for it though.

Loiterer · 24/10/2014 16:20

Hello everyone and welcome iwant - congratulations!

I would like to book an early scan.. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm in West London but anywhere in London would be fine.

Glenpip77 · 24/10/2014 16:55

Hi all, thought I'd tentatively join the group. I'm About 5 weeks with an EDD of 25th June, but being quite cautious about getting too excited after a natural m/c at 8 weeks in may. Got a private scan booked for 2 weeks today so hoping that will easy my nervousness Smile

bubalou · 24/10/2014 17:06

Thank you all. I know it's still early at 8 weeks but just nice to confirm things.

Hopefully can relax a bit now after a horrendous couple of weeks of sickness etc.

I'm actually eating again!!Wink maybe a little too much. Haha

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 24/10/2014 17:06

Sorry to have read some sad news since I last posted Hmm

But congratulations to all the successful scannees, glad you have seen helpful things!

Just broken up for half term here, hurrah. Having two mins to sit down before I get dd from nursery. We have dh's dad and step mum arriving first thing so now I need to clean frantically and get food ready etc. Not really in the mood! (Oh, and, given dh has been working from home all day without the distraction of other people, AIBU to think that a request for him to do some laundry means more than just shove it in the machine??!!)

Chookford · 24/10/2014 17:09

Welcome and congrats glenpip

Just want to ask for some advice/be told to chill out and get a grip.

Yesterday I had quite a sharp pain on one side for about 10 minutes. Today my boobs have felt less tender and there has been very little in the way of nausea. Though the latter could be because I'm stkckkng to things I know don't make me feel sick afterwards.

Should I be concerned? There has been no bleeding or further pains.

My small human is 2. She never been a good sleeper but even with the early starts, she is better than she used to be. I got a gro-clock this week! So far she understands when I explain it, she likes it but she totally ignores it.
I feel all funny today. Slight nausea, achy all over, crippling tiredness. Hoping these are all good signs.

Welcome to the newbies.

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 24/10/2014 19:07

Very very pleased for those of you who have had good scans Smile Smile

Zaccheryquack · 24/10/2014 19:24

Hurrah for half term Pas. Feeling your pain with visitors. Having our 5th weekend of having family staying (last one until Christmas!). Lovely to see everyone but I am not really in the mood! How did the school trip go by the way?

Guybrush your small human sounds a bit like mine in terms of sleep! Worth persevering with the gro-clock - I really think it helped. We just set a time of 5:30 before which it was unacceptable to leave her room even if we were reading stories with her and have gradually nudged it back to 6. I really think it helped her understand why sometimes it was ok to get up and sometimes we found it unacceptable!

Zaccheryquack · 24/10/2014 19:28

Alis have felt my symptoms lessen and get more pronounced over the last few weeks and just had a scan with a nice result yesterday so I think perfectly ok. I do get the occasional sharp pain if I move slightly strangely too that I don't get when not pregnant so maybe similar for you? Don't think you should worry but easier said than done I know!

notsoold · 24/10/2014 20:14

Ohhh what a day....
They saw a sac (6 weeks) and a fetal pole ( 3.8mm

ots · 24/10/2014 20:32

Sorry to hear your scan wasn't as you hoped notsoold It still may be OK though so try to stay positive (I know how hard this is!) Thanks
