They do get it wrong all the time and babies grow at different rates. You might find it's just had a big growth spurt and growth will slow down for a while. Also apparently the size doesn't make as much difference as the baby's position so sure it'll be fine!
My baby also has her head resting on my bladder. Hope she shifts before the commute tomorrow or it's going to be a long painful journey!

AziziRose · 14/10/2014 16:59

I've become very familiar with the toilet tube map and pretty much every service station on the m1 and m6! I think I'll need a catheter by 40weeks hehe

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 14/10/2014 16:59

The consultant checked my GTT results and they were 4.3 so definitely no diabetes (midwife will be gutted Grin). My grandmother and mother both had big babies with no complications, and DH is 6ft tall. Plus I'm a fatty. So I think it's unavoidable, but genetic rather than because of anything else. I think I could probably handle up to 9lbs.
I am glad that it's all healthy in there, and I think I'd rather have a big baby than a weeny one I'd be too scared to pick up!

The consultant booked another scan for 32 weeks so not long to wait for another look :)

During the scan DH was looking down at the ground and had his hand over his eyes. I thought he was crying (he almost fainted at 12 week scan haha)! But apparently he was afraid of seeing something he shouldn't Wink I couldn't make out anything except the spine, so no chance of knowing what genitals are supposed to look like!

Hope everyone else has had a positive day.

Glad all went okay peace!
Nursery furniture has just arrived!! Its all flat packed so i know what OH will be doing on his day off!

Cuppachaplz · 14/10/2014 17:44

Hi all, been lurking on and off for a while, and had few scares.
Needing some last trimester company and matters though.
Desperately disorganised...
May I post a bump pic?
MW said I'm small and friend thinks I'm enormous, feeling emotional and wondering why the feck I am even bothered...

Lucy90 · 14/10/2014 18:15

Welcome cuppa!
How far gone are you?
Im 30+2

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 14/10/2014 18:49

Ah welcome back Chuppa! I was looking at the stats page earlier and wondering about all the old faces who've disappeared.

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 14/10/2014 18:49

Cuppa even Hmm

teaandducks · 14/10/2014 19:41

Ah glad you got the scan organised. I think its hard to tell whats fluid and whats baby as they get bigger - none of my friends with babies have had what was expected on the graph anyway! And I don't think size affected birth joy (or not...) that much. Remaining optimistic Smile Welcome cuppa! (says the newbie!)

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 14/10/2014 19:49

Glad it went well Peace, and bonus with the scan! Glad everything's ok adn double bonus with the GD result! When are you back to work, or are you going to try finishing early?

I'm watching DP get cross at the amount of shredding he has to do (6 years of keeping ALL your paper bits will do that) and laughing at him shamelessly.

Welcome to all new peoples xx

KreechasKeepa · 14/10/2014 20:19

Hi everyone. Sent a FB request, Monkey - thanks. :-)

Spent this morning in hospital 'cause of what they think is round ligament pain. It absolutely knacks! They monitored me and all seems well with the baby, though, so I'm happy enough with that. Hoping that the pain starts to subside because I dunno what I'm going to do if this lasts another 10 weeks. Anyone else experienced this? I was fine last time.

Cuppachaplz · 14/10/2014 20:35

30 +5 I think.
I keep losing count.
I think I fell off the last thread as was in and out of hospital so much with various things and couldn't keep up, but Defo in need of third trimester company...
So bump pic; have had it's too small concerns from MW, and my god you're enormous from a friend!
Opinions please

espa · 14/10/2014 20:44

Kreecha, what's your round ligament pain like? I've been getting some really awful pains last week or so, especially when I wake up during the night and then try to get up with a full bladder and was wondering if that's what it was.

AziziRose · 14/10/2014 20:49

I am very lucky to have had a straightforward pregnancy (at least with baby! I've felt like crap since day1) but I very irrationally sometimes wish there were extra scans being thrown in! Neither me or bear like being squashed by the probe but I wanna sneak a peek!

Why do people think they can comment on our bodies so freely. I'm fortunate to not have had strangers touching my belly, the benefit of unfriendly London! And you can't win, everyone said I was tiny and gave me a complex that baby wasn't growing well, until 29weeks and now I'm huge apparently haha!

My Hubby is fast asleep (and has been since 19:30!) on the sofa, taking up a good 3/4 plus the footstool! Git! Hope he doesn't expect me to wake him up for The Apprentice, which he's been looking forward to for weeks ;) must be sympathetic pregnancy fatigue.......

AziziRose · 14/10/2014 20:53

Cuppa, definitely not enormous! I think that's how I looked around 29weeks, still fitted in my size 8 uniform tunics and no one believed I was even pregnant. I just popped at 31wks though. Did the MW measure fundal height? I understand it's very inaccurate generally... Sorry to hear you've had such a rough time!

Cuppachaplz · 14/10/2014 21:05

Yes, I think she said it was measuring about 26w. That was last Friday.
I was far smaller with DS, so am feeling whalesque, but assumed that was relative, IYKWIM. When friend said I was massive I wondered if I had somehow erupted overnight and was now in danger of influencing the tides! Lol

monkeybaby2 · 14/10/2014 21:08

Omg, so glad I'm not alone on the sudden discovery of humongous baby front. I had a growth scan today too, seemingly to check baby weight not adversely affected by my Crohn's disease. Turns out the Diglet is instead massive and over the 90th centile, measures 5.5lbs now at 32+0 which translates to over 10lbs at birth if he keeps on the same track.

WTAF.

At least it explains why I'm so massive. See, it's all the Diglet and he's made of lead. Nothing to do with all the cake I've stuffed down, no.

Lucy90 · 14/10/2014 21:13

Cuppa youre really not massive at all! How bloody rude are people thinking its okay to say how big pregnant women are! Ive started telling people im not big because im pregnant, im just fat which makes commenters very awkward and embarrassed!

AziziRose · 14/10/2014 21:19

Hahahah! You guys are all brilliant! Grin

teaandducks · 14/10/2014 21:29

You can't win can you - some ppl at work were shocked to hear I'm starting mat leave soon as they didn't even know I was pregnant (?!) yet one of my mums mates said she knew I was having a gire cos my face & bum were much fatter & carrying all over! The cheek!! People at work are much nicer now though - get cups of tea & the occasional sit down...should have got one of those babies on board badges for work!

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 14/10/2014 23:00

Hugmonster82 · 14/10/2014 23:03

Cuppa your bump looks lovely and neat to me. I keep getting told how huge I am. Bigger than all at NCT class including some that are due 2 weeks before me. I'm hoping I'm just carrying a lot of fluid. This was me last week at 32 weeks.

Lucy90 · 15/10/2014 05:02

Morning heartburn nice of you to join me again at this horrendous hour :(

Chipandspuds · 15/10/2014 06:11

If it's any comfort on the big baby front DS was 9lbs 1oz (they didn't realise he was going to be big) and the labour/birth was very straightforward 5.5 hours from waking up to delivering him, arrived at hospital 9cms dilated had gas and air and had him in the birthing pool with 4 pushes Smile

I'm getting lots of comments on how big my bump is too...! I just tell them DS was big and I'm expecting another 9lber Grin

My midwife said a couple of weeks again that the baby's head is 3/5 engaged so quite low down for this stage, but on the plus side I'm not getting the achey ribs that I had with DS and also I have more long space for breathing Smile

Struggling with sleep at the moment, very tired and have a bit of a cold. I keep waking up super early and wanting afternoon naps which I can't have as either at work or DS wakes me up after a 10 minute doze on the settee! DH is helping where he can but he's out the house from 7:45am and not back until 6:45pm but he's looking after DS at the weekends whilst I have epic naps during the afternoon!

Just waiting for the end of the month and we can buy the last baby bits. Before then we're having a general tidy up and sorting out DS's baby stuff.

I also need to ask one of my neighbours if needed could she look after DS if I happen to go into labour in the middle of the night! A friend has offered which is great but she loves in the opposite direction to the hospital and I'm a bit worried in case the labour is really fast, I don't want to give birth in the car! Will have my brother and then afterwards my mum staying so as long as the baby is not born before 39 weeks babysitting is covered!

LotsaTuddles · 15/10/2014 09:22

I think when they measure you it's massively inaccurate as at 28 + 1 the mw at the hospital measured me and I was bang on 28cm but when my mw did it Friday (29 weeks) I only measured 26 cm.

I think out has a lot to do with the position you're in too, because at the hospitalI was kind of sat up a bit, but at mw was completely flat on my back
