Im due 22/12, my last day at work is the 7/12 so ill be 37+6 then!

AziziRose · 14/10/2014 10:56

I bought the what to expect first year book, that was super eye opening! NCT starts in 2weeks, can't wait.

I watched the born asleep program, it made me hyper alert to baby movements. Was very tempted to book the well being scan but I'm trying to give up a bit of control, I think I'll get a bit obsessed and want extra scans every week! Counting down the days til 36week scan though.

AziziRose · 14/10/2014 10:58

Oh wow Lucy, what a trooper!

Lucy90 · 14/10/2014 11:02

If my employer wasnt so supportive i wouldnt be able to work so long, everyone has been telling me to rest and sit down when i need to and for the last two weeks ill be doing just three early shifts, so finished by 1.30pm and mainly dealing with paperwork so hopefully ill be able to keep working that long!

KreechasKeepa · 14/10/2014 11:18

Hi, can I join? I'm 30+6 today with ds 2. Is there a FB group for December too?

LotsaTuddles · 14/10/2014 12:44

I've no more scans (unless I get an unexpected growth scan or something).

Quick question.

Does anyone ever feel like their baby is up under their ribs? I definitely had some kicks from inside my rib cage the other day, but sometimes when I sit down I can definitely feel feet or something just under my boobs on the outside of my rib cage if that makes sense?

Does anyone else get this?

teaandducks · 14/10/2014 13:00

Hi there, can I join too? Been lurking on pregnancy boards for a while but just found these and all feels very real now 30 weeks on thurs! EDD 25.12.14 - DH keeps telling me its lucky but Im not so sure he'll be saying same when everyone else is enjoying Xmas lunch!

AziziRose · 14/10/2014 13:01

Welcome kreechaskeepa!

I'm a mumsnet newbie so feel like a fraud welcoming people to a group I found yesterday haha!

Lotsa, baby has stuck a foot into my lungs a few times but luckily is fairly low, it was soooo uncomfortable! The ligaments in my ribs are definitely softer thanks to relaxin, I get a few aches and pulled a muscle when I sat up the other day - couldn't deep breathe or move for about an hour :(

Isn't it strange how every Trust offers a different plan of care! I'm at uch in London where they do a growth scan at 36wks, but after watching the Born Asleep program it no longer sounds like the most beneficial testing!

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 14/10/2014 13:02

Hi Kreecha!

I was told I'd have a 32 week growth scan, but since I can't even get a midwife appointment until 32 weeks I doubt that will materialise!

AziziRose · 14/10/2014 13:13

Oh no Peace! You must be at a popular hospital. I can remember panicking that I wasn't having my booking appt until 13weeks, aaaah such small fish now Blush

Lucy90 · 14/10/2014 13:29

Lotsa my bump is very low down but i definitely get kicks in my rib cage!! Baby must have very long legs, im 5'1 and her dad is 6'4 so i dont think she has little legs like me!

Lucy90 · 14/10/2014 13:29

And hello kreecha and tea!

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 14/10/2014 13:32

Well I see the midwife at my doctors surgery, and she normally books the next appointment when I see her. But at 25 weeks she was a drama queen and sent me to hospital, and told me to make my next appointment through the community midwives office. Well, I did, and they promised to find me a place, but four weeks later I've heard nothing. I'm pissed off because there was confusion over my rhesus status and now 28 weeks has passed Hmm
So the next midwife appointment available via the doctors was at 32 weeks!
Since I'm supposedly high-risk, the consultant might bump me up somehow today. We'll see!

Sorry to moan! I'm off now Grin

My bump's not particularly high either, probably more in the middle. Definitely feeling movement low down and in my ribs so she's either really long our just shuffles up and down a lot

teaandducks · 14/10/2014 13:42

Hi all! Peace I had similar problems moving from London oop North at 20 wks - they seemed much more organised at my London appts but here didn't hear anything for 9 weeks despite them saying they were worried about my placenta praevia and would need to see me and rescan - ended up calling labour ward emergency number as no-one replies from community no.s and they sorted the appts out for me (whilst grumbling about community service!) Just makes me a bit nervous for actual d-day...

teaandducks · 14/10/2014 13:45

My bump also seems very low - hoping this means my dodgy placenta has moved! You do wonder what theyre up to in there though with all the funny feelings. Must be amazing to see on 4d scan but not sure could justify the cost when not bought any of baby essentials yet!

monkeybaby2 · 14/10/2014 14:25

Hello newbies! If you want to join the fb group too, search for 'Jingle babies - DD Dec 2014' on fb and request to join. I'll open it until about 10 tonight.

teaandducks · 14/10/2014 14:39

Ah thanks monkey baby (great name!) Just sent you a request... Oo its a whole new world now I've discovered internet chat. Was feeling bit isolated since the move as left all my london friends behind, DH currently overseas and living with my mum. Hoping NCT and the little one will help me meet people once she's here...

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 14/10/2014 14:59

Oooh having a surprise scan today! Exciting!

Hugmonster82 · 14/10/2014 15:05

Hello Kreecha and Tea. Have also found midwives to be quite disorganised and impossible to get hold of in my area but when I had a movement scare the midwives at the hospital were absolutely amazing. As long as they are that good when it actually matters I don't mind too much.
Just eaten half a tub of Ben and jerrys. It was all I could find for lunch and had to eat it quite fast as the cats were bullying me for some! I know I deserve it but now I feel very sickHmm

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 14/10/2014 15:40

Couldn't make much out at all! It must be really cramped in there. Head is right on my bladder, apparently. Explains a lot Hmm

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 14/10/2014 15:45

Oh my god. Estimated fetal weight 4lbs.

OP posts:
Hugmonster82 · 14/10/2014 15:57

Exciting getting another scan! So what's the estimated weight by your due date?

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 14/10/2014 16:34

Oh my god I wish I hadn't looked. Estimated 9lbs 9oz at 40 weeks. They make mistakes all the time though, right?!

Rethinking my decision not to have an epidural...

AziziRose · 14/10/2014 16:41

So glad you got a scan and sounds like you have a healthy baby :) they always get it wrong, I'm tempted to ask them not to calculate hehe!

Ooohh what I'd give for a tub of B&Js!
