Judging by my bump today I think baby's position is a big factor. Bear had decided transverse is today's favourite and I think I'd measure about 60cm ;)

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 15/10/2014 17:24

Yes! When my one's bottom is sticking out at the front, even with my anterior placenta my bump is enormous! Otherwise it's quite small!

Cuppachaplz · 15/10/2014 18:51

hugmonster, great bump, you look fab with it :)

Feeling better today in this respect today, was just a little overwhelmed by a friend (not a particularly close one either saying) 'OMG you look enormous', especially coming 2d after MW had expressed concerns that I was small (measuring about 25 I think). To put things in perspective, I have had several scans, and baby is on 40th centime, and following a curve, so surely not an issue.

Anyone else spectacularly breathless and uncomfortable? It might just be that my carpal tunnel etc is really bad today, but I am feeling spectacularly uncomfortable and short of breath.

loving all the organisation stories, maybe they will even inspire me to buy stuff or pack a bag...

kusmile · 15/10/2014 18:56

Yup, I get breathless all the time. Walking, doing the dishes, eating, pretty much all leaves in need of a lie down. Have you had your iron levels checked? I'm a bit low but can't take the iron pills regularly because of a dodgy stomach :-s

CatFaceCrayola · 15/10/2014 19:59

Been having some cramps across my bump today. Not too concerned as all was well this morning at the midwife. And I'm still feeling movement. But it's adding to my regular discomfort and back pain.

Probably part of the reason why I'm so grumpy this evening.

Hugmonster82 · 15/10/2014 20:05

Hope you feel better soon Cat. I'm also very grumpy. My cats broke into my bag and have eaten my lovely m&s ready meal that I was really looking forward to. Seriously what kind of cats like vegetable bakes?! Now I have to find something else to eat and do last night's washing up. Considering phoning for a takeaway and leaving the washing up for DH tomorrow Hmm

Fraggle31 · 15/10/2014 21:02

Evening everyone........

What is it with people touching the bump......next person will get a bop on the nose haha

And then today man in chemist started telling me all the best babies were born in December and that Capricorn wAs the best star sign lol

AziziRose · 15/10/2014 21:34

I've found the solution to breathlessness... don't talk, walk up hills or stairs, move too quickly, do any housework, eat too quickly....

What a cheeky cat- I think I would've had a meltdown and eaten the cat ;) and washing up is definitely not your job tonight!

funchum8am · 15/10/2014 21:36

Hi everyone, please can I join? 30+4 today so EDD is 20th Dec. I finish work a week on Friday and will definitely be keen for some company. Would love to join FB group next time someone is opening it up!

This is DC2 and DD is 2 so having lovely chats about "when baby comes out".

I share the pain of those who have bad coughs, I too am on the Tena lady!

CatFaceCrayola · 15/10/2014 22:04

Where have all these new people sprung from all of a sudden? I like it!

Grump has been kept under control with tasty foods. Although I have just sat and crocheted entirely the wrong things. Definitely time to go and chill in bed!

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 15/10/2014 22:34

Capricorn IS the best star sign, and December IS the best month to be born in Wink

Hi funchumSmile
I find I get a bit breathless when I eat too much and then lie down. I never learn though! Also when I walk uphill. It seemed like a good idea buying a house up the top of a hill a few months ago. Not so much now.
The kitties have been forgiven. Rather too easily I think but they looked so sad when I shouted. I hope children are better behaved!

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 15/10/2014 23:05

Oh and had my first NCT class tonight. Lots of nice couples I'd like to be friends with, but I was seriously flagging by 9pm. The teacher was a bit annoying too. Oh well.

OP posts:
Hugmonster82 · 15/10/2014 23:24

Our NCT teacher is ok but a little bit nicey nice/dull and I don't think she quite gets my DH's sense of humour. The first session she asked everyone to introduce themselves with a little anecdote about their name to help us remember them. My husband says 'hi my name's Philip, it means lover of horses which is apt given my prior convictions....!' The poor lady looked terrified!

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 15/10/2014 23:48

HAAAA!

OP posts:
Peaceloveandbiscuits · 15/10/2014 23:53

Meh ours is quite contradictory in her information, which visibly confused a few people. And I was unconsciously nodding along with what she said, and she had a bit of a go at me asking if I already knew what she was talking about Confused I was just trying to engage!!
And we've all got to buy bouncy balls to sit on for next week, apparently. I hope they don't have an upper weight limit! Confused

OP posts:
BigHairyLeggedSpider · 16/10/2014 06:39

Gah 9pm! Thats way past my bedtime! Peace the balls have an upper weight limit of 300kg... about 50 stone! Mine was fine and comfy, so much so I have just bought one. Grin

AziziRose · 16/10/2014 07:12

Ooh exciting Peace! I couldn't believe they ran such late classes, I'm often heading to bed at 9pm. We're going to a super intense 10-5 Saturday and Sunday class, hubby is not impressed hahahahaha :)

Hi Funchum! In my case it was sudden realisation that a) I don't know any pregnant people and I have noooo idea what's happening and b) there isn't long left to meet helpful, lovely pregnant people! That and I stumbled across the antenatal club section (which I thought was gonna be a discussion about antenatal classes......... Blush )

Now to work on interesting ice breaker answers- I hate that sort of pressure!

Little bear feels like it's got into a silly position and is a bit stuck! Get your head back down where it's supposed to be and quit sticking your foot out like alien! Someone has daddy's sense of direction....

Roonerspism · 16/10/2014 07:33

Hi to the newbies!

Can I just say that if someone in my NCT class had introduced themselves that way hugmonster I would have peed myself laughing and have loved them for it. My DH is similarly mischievous and during the breastfeeding session when we had DC1, (which was run by a particularly evangelical, guilt-inducing lady) DH decided to point out a headline article from that morning reporting the benefits to be massively overstated.

I met some lovely folk in my NCT class, some of whom I still see. But I found the home-birth stuff a bit reckless. As it happened, breastfeeding worked well for me, but if it hasn't, breastfeeding lady's monologue would have made me feel crap!

Does anyone else still get nauseous or is it only me? I'm physically fine otherwise - but very bored of feeling sick now!

Taura · 16/10/2014 07:44

I was actually, properly gut-wrenchingly sick last night. I've not been sick at all through first 32 weeks and I think this was more a side effect of acid reflux and stress and perhaps a dodgy ready meal though.

This morning I've had a good cry about insomnia and nerves and now I have to get up and go to work. Only 10 working days left though.

LotsaTuddles · 16/10/2014 08:27

I'm thinking of getting one of those balls too. Can't find any position comfortable to sit in, so need to do something, and don't they help baby get into position?

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 16/10/2014 08:51

Yeah ours was all evangelical about breastfeeding which made me feel really uncomfortable. I am intending to try it, but some people aren't in a position to even get that far, and shouldn't be made to feel guilty or any less of a good parent. Especially when you've bloody paid through the nose for these classes.
I'm exhausted and angry and I have to go to work tomorrow Confused

mrsHawk1ns · 16/10/2014 08:59

morning all! I'm off to get another ball today (albeit an exercise one & not a "proper" birthing one - only seem to available online & not in the shops??) because my last one is now DS1's giant giggle fit inducing football Sad my sickness comes and goes all over the place! I tried an NCT class with DS1 and snuck out in the break in the 1st lesson along with another couple, our teacher was awful! stuck with the NHS ones at Local sure start which I found really helpful, but now feel like I can't remember a thing! I only gave birth 16 months ago.... extreme baby brain!

Lucy90 · 16/10/2014 10:07

What are these birthing balls for?! Am i missing out on something??

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 16/10/2014 10:51

Apparently they're good for posture and for getting baby to engage. You can get a "yoga ball" in Sports Direct for £4 so I'm going down that route! They're triple the price on the NCT shop
