Hello Azizi. We're due date buddies. Also due with my first that day.
I don't have the power to let people onto FB (good job as I'd prob screw it up) but I will let the powers that be know that there are people wanting to join.
Agreed with my boss today that I only have to work alternate days in the office for my last few weeks. That means 10 days of commuting left. HurrahSmile

CatFaceCrayola · 13/10/2014 17:05

More new folk :)

I've just sorted out the dates for our antenatal classes. They start in 2 weeks. Was waiting for a letter as I'd completely forgotten when/where they were.

sent of my maternity leave form thingy today. Although the letter said i should've had an info pack which I haven't. It also said it MUST be returned at least 14 weeks before "the date of my confinement" (or whatever horrible phrase it is they use) but since I only got the letter last week ( with 9 weeks to go) it's tough!

In other news. My tail bone is making all variations of sitting down very uncomfortable today!

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 13/10/2014 18:21

Lulz Catface I had to find my own info pack from the intranet. I send a PDF of my MATB1 at -15 weeks and then forgot to send the original until about three or four weeks later! Whoops. Hopefully still valid!

Has anyone else been doing pelvic floor exercises?
I do mine on and off depending on whether i remember! How important actually are they?

mrsHawk1ns · 13/10/2014 18:38

Lucy I didn't do them first time round and I haven't this time either (slap me on the wrists) and I've yet to wet myself!

Lucy90 · 13/10/2014 18:45

Oh thankyou mrsH!
I keep hearing stories of people wetting themselves after giving birth!

PourquoiTuGachesTaVie · 13/10/2014 18:54

I think if you are talking about it then you might as well do some right now. If I remember then I do them, I'd rather do that than take the risk.

Within 24 hours of giving birth to ds, I found myself very suddenly needing a wee. I was almost at the toilet when I found I just couldn't hold it - I may as well have not had any muscles down there at all. It was only the once and I put it down to the fact that I'd literally just pushed a baby out, but I can imagine how awful it must be to have to deal with that every day. Doesn't take long to do a few pelvic floor exercises every now and then.

CallingAllEngels · 13/10/2014 19:05

I didn't think my pelvic floor was a problem last pg...until I had a nasty cough this time at 4/5 months and had to start wearing panty liners to protect myself!

Hello newbies! The Facebook thread is now open for you to request to join. Search for Jingle Babies-DD Dec 2014. Hope you find usSmile

CallingAllEngels · 13/10/2014 19:11

And welcome to all the newbies.

frazzles I am due 28th as well and I am convinced DC2 will be early (DS was 3 days early!).

So, was BM at a wedding on Saturday and got some corkers - everything from "you're very big", "you're enormous", hand on bump followed by "it's a boy" (from the drunk best man who I was meeting for the first time and has since requested to be my friend on fb...don't think so mate!and, er no, you're not psychic), are you sure it's not twins (that old chestnut) and from the rather sweet lady at the check out in the supermarket who said, "not long now" (I wish! 11 weeks at that stage!).

29+1

Lucy90 · 13/10/2014 19:21

Thanks hugmonster ive sent a request!
30 weeks today im so excited to reach this mile stone!! OH is cooking a nice dinner to celebrate Smile

mrsHawk1ns · 13/10/2014 19:31

I've sent a request too. don't take my word for it though Lucy, I'll probably be the one buying Tena Lady in bulk from Costco in a few months time. I just never remember to do them and dont think I've ever done them right anyway (don't laugh at me!) when I tense down there its my bum that feels like is being affected, not my lady garden....

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 13/10/2014 20:32

I'm on Tena Lady Mini already Shock

Fraggle31 · 13/10/2014 20:38

callingallengels I think people just made it up about how big/small you look lol in the space of 30mins I had one person says 'oh.....you're going to be massive by December' and one say 'oh, I'd only put you at 5 months gone, what a small bump'

Weirdos lol

Lucy90 · 13/10/2014 20:44

Baby has been nice and active all day and now i have aches all down my right side, god knows what shes doing in there!
Atleast she is moving though, if she wasnt id be worrying about that!

MrsW27 · 13/10/2014 20:46

walked past my big, big boss at work today, she glanced at me, said 'look at the size of you!' and carried on walking Shock

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 13/10/2014 21:54

Seeing my consultant tomorrow; I hope he's as nice as the last time! Not really looking forward to being weighed as I feel like I've ballooned in the past couple of weeks.

monkeybaby2 · 13/10/2014 22:26

Nobody ever thinks my bump is small Hmm but then am size of small elephant. Must be why I always get a seat on the tube as well, they must be thinking I'm about to drop....

CatFaceCrayola · 13/10/2014 23:01

Feeling unexplained rage and anger this evening. I have warned DH after already snapping a few times

AziziRose · 14/10/2014 06:46

Thanks all, hellooo!

Peace I definitely find dermal injections have no lasting pain (wonder if there's more spare room in skin and less volume?) but waaay more painful to get given than IM. But that may all be psychological because I often inflict IMs on others!

Hi hugmonster! So lovely to meet you, are you feeling ready?!? All the previous talk of other uses of Moses baskets has got me thinking I should perhaps get one soon! Time is flying...

Hooray for not long left at work, I'm envious of everyone's ability to work at this stage, I waved the white flag last week but had 3weeks of annual leave before that so can barely remember that work thang! Wink

And thanks for the Facebook info :)

AziziRose · 14/10/2014 06:53

Id been enjoying my weigh-ins (I liked seeing things change clearly and knowing bear was growing) but very infrequent and in kg so I was completely naive about what weight that really was! That l told my mum and she excitedly told me she never got to my weight even at full term. Thanks mother! Hmm

Lucy90 · 14/10/2014 07:10

Ive still got 7 weeks at work! But im off this week so technically 6!

Had lots of my friends trying to make plans for my birthday over the weekend, i appreciate the thought but all i want to do at this stage is eat and sleep! My mum is coming to stay for the weekend and we are having a 4D baby bonding scan on the sunday and a look round london while shes here so theres my birthday weekend sorted with a meal with OH in there somewhere! Also got all the nursery furniture coming this afternoon-weve just got to choose the cot then everything is ready!!
Anyone else got any plans this week?

mrsHawk1ns · 14/10/2014 07:57

plans this week are to pester the decorator to find out when he's actually coming! the room still has bare plaster walls, no carpet and furniture stored in the garage or not yet ordered! urm I haven't been weighed at all since my booking appt, is that normal?? (2nd pg)

AziziRose · 14/10/2014 09:06

Lucy when are you due?? You're so well prepared! Awww let us know how the 4D goes, I was tempted but hubby was weirdly against it, think he's worried his little surprise will flash us in 4D ;)

I've not been officially weighed since the dating scan, midwife just asked me in booking. I guess there's so much variation between women it would be pointless unless someone was significantly underweight or overweight. I've just occasionally jumped on the scales and thought about all those kg making this little bouncing bear.

We're moving house next week so endless packing for me this week. And finishing off the hospital bag, just in case!!

Hugmonster82 · 14/10/2014 09:53

I haven't been weighed either and very glad of it. I don't think I want to know. People keep telling me how big I am-I'm the biggest out of my NCT group (as husband helpfully pointed out). Hoping it's fluid and not a monster baby!
Feeling prepared as in I have most of the things I need now but totally unprepared for an actual baby. Went to NCT last night and had 2 hours on recognising when baby's ill and what's normal. Made me realise how little I know!
I've booked a wellbeing scan at the Fetal Medicine Centre on Friday. DH didn't want to go for a 3d scan but after hearing about the panorama programme 'born asleep' (please don't watch it-my mum did and said it made her cry and even reading about it upset me) he was persuaded so I get an extra scan after all. Can't wait!
