Just Shagging Grads thread No.13 for upduffed viroids!

Nessalina · 06/10/2014 07:46

Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 13th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed! Grin

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 29th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy! Grin

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal clubs here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates! It's a bit quiet at the moment, but with all these upduffed viroids hopefully it won't be for long!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

So, roll call below please, viroids! Smile

wil the place I work is awful, there is no staff loyalty or retention because the managers treat the staff like they're disposable, they know that no matter how many leave the job centre will have a whole bunch of people lined up to take their places, it's the first place I've worked where I've actually been paid the minimum wage, I'm on now what I was on when I started at my last retail job over three years ago. They make the staff book all of their holiday in advance in January and there's no provision for unpaid leave heaven forbid you need to attend a funeral on a work day and you didn't have the premonition to book that week off as holiday back in January >.> Once I've had bump I'll start looking elsewhere, because I'll be damned if I end up back at that place next November!

wilmabedrock · 22/10/2014 21:04

Oh that's terrible. Will they be ok about mat leave? I won't have a job after this baby comes either so we can be skint together Grin .

TheBooMonster · 22/10/2014 22:47

wil they'll have no choice but to give me mat leave, but I'm not guaranteed to go back on the department I left from, they can put me on tills, the one place I've stated from the beginning I do not want to be because the numbers move on the screen, and I wouldn't put it past the store manager to do that, which is one of the many reasons I have to find something else, I won't survive on tills. I've made such a big thing about my pregnancy with every level of management that they've had no choice but to do a risk assessment on me already, however I don't work enough hours for SMP, so I'll have to give them my matb1 form for them to give it back along with Maternity Allowance forms so I can get maternity allowance through the government. DH reckons I don't have to go back to work anyway, which freely translates as he's already shitting himself at the idea of having to keep two babies entertained on the two days a week he's home, and he'd rather we were poor than be left alone with two babies >.>

Nessalina · 22/10/2014 22:57

Sorry to all those with no lie ins! I promise to get up and do something useful tomorrow!

Poor you Boo, what a disaster! Confused D&V just spreads like wildfire, really hope you can avoid it! If you get ill, can you call it in as emergency leave and say your DD is ill (rather than saying you're ill)? Most work places have a separate emergency leave policy from sickness policy, at my place staff can take up to 5 days annually for emergency leave for sick kids/dependents etc. I'm pretty sure one of my staff has used and abused it to avoid her sick record going over threshold, but nothing I can do about it.

Cookie - I hope you get to the bottom of the refluxy weirdness. Doesn't sound like fun at all Sad

The hv is alright but it was just one at his weigh in not his "official" one.

The problem is it only happens at night, he very rarely squirms during the day although he is almost always in my arms all day long! Either asleep or will play for 5 mins on mat or the like. He falls asleep on me, I transfer him into cot and then he stirs for the rest of the night, flinging his arms up, grunting e.t.c

Also when will he start to enjoy time by himself?

wilmabedrock · 23/10/2014 05:27

I think the night time thing is quite typical. We used to hit 6pm and the screaming would start. How does he sleep during the night?

I think they're all different in regards to how much they let you put them down etc. If you're finding it too much, may be worth trying to slowly get him used to it by putting him in the bouncer for a minute by himself and then extending it. He will still be pretty little when you take into account his corrected age won't he? That probably makes a big difference at this stage. Maybe try to find something he likes to look at to distract him from the fact you've put him down? Apparently they like black and white patterns at first although MiniWil was quite fond of mirrors.

wilmabedrock · 23/10/2014 05:31

Sorry, I clearly hadn't read your post properly - blaming the fact it's 5am. I would try propping the mattress up a bit and if no improvement maybe try the dairy-free formula (I assume that is different to the comfort stuff?)

Nessalina · 23/10/2014 07:49

I'm up! Smile Going to be a useful viroid today. Washing washing washing. And more washing!

Midwife later. Hoping the babe is still the right way up! Feels like he is but it's so hard to tell!

Going to have a go at putting stickers up in the nursery - photo when I've managed it!

Morning! Last working day of the week for me and oh my god am I glad! My plans for tomorrow consist of staying in bed with a west wing box set and a 2 litre jug of orange juice. Is it terrible that I'm a bit pleased Mr tee is away and I don't have to feel a bit guilty about being asleep before 8pm?!

wilmabedrock · 23/10/2014 08:23

You girls are killing me with your lie-ins!

Sorry forgot to thank people for the nappy advice. I looked up the council schemes last time and they didn't have any funding in our area but will check again.

FurryScoob · 23/10/2014 08:35

Tee 2 litres of orange juice would make me spend the day on the toilet!

Had a trip to hospital with reduced movements last night, midwife was lovely & baby started wiggling as soon as she had an audience! Got to go back for scan in next few days to check everything's ok but there pretty sure she's fine & was just having a lazy day! Heads nearly fully engaged & her bums not trying to break a rib anymore.

JuniDD · 23/10/2014 08:36

How things change in a week, eh? Hi-fives for the sleep deprived. 90 mins sleep here! But she's gorgeous so I don't mind. Yet... Off for weigh in. Wish us lots of luck

Minion · 23/10/2014 08:43

We've opted for a 4 day week here so it's lie in central round ours, topped off with blueberry bagels in bed.
Sadly I now have to winch myself out of my pit to go to town as today is 'christmas shopping, before minion gets too lardy and cumbersome and starts elbowing people in the ribs, day'.
Then it's home and nursery painting... For him, whilst I supervise natch.

Pisghetti · 23/10/2014 08:52

eurgh all of you with lie ins - hush your mouths! I've not got a good excuse like Juni but I did not want to get out of bed this morning. Very restless nights with bizarre and random cramps waking me up constantly.

Good luck with the weigh in miniJ!

Have fun Ness a photo would be great! We're going to start tackling the wardrobe nursery soon and I'm after inspiration!

laurenamium · 23/10/2014 09:00

Another one very jealous of lie ins! I've been working since 7!

Good luck with weigh in today Juni!

Nessalina · 23/10/2014 09:22

I count myself as sleep deprived today as I only got 4hrs - totally self inflicted though as I did nothing and slept lots yesterday!

Good luck for the weigh in Juni, glad things are going well! Grin

Tee - sounds like my kinda day! Wink

Furry - sounds like things are all lining up for you! Maybe you'll beat me to the finishing line Shock

Oh I should SO make a start on Xmas shopping whilst I'm still mobile... Motivation may be challenging!!

teejayem · 23/10/2014 09:22

I am in love with orange juice furry - I can't get enough of it, and worse still, it's the cheap value from concentrate stuff :) I'm slightly sluggish in the poo dept at the moment so I'm hoping to kill two birds with one stone...

Hope it goes well at Midwife/Weigh in Ness & Juni

I ordered heaps of vinyl stickers from amazon when we moved house, they were really cheep considering, and now we have a mass of black butterflies running up our staircase (Will see if I can find pic)

RPopz · 23/10/2014 09:27

Morning viroids! Mini lie in for me, but the pay off unfortunately is working til 8pm... Sad

Hope all goes well at midwife Ness and bub is still upside down! Grin

Good luck at the weigh in Juni - how are you both doing?

Ack, Tee - that is a LOT of oj! That was the first thing to set my ms off.... booork Envy

Christmas shopping Shock Hopefully I'll still be mobile enough to contemplate it at beginning of December when mat leave starts! Hope it goes well Min Smile

RPopz · 23/10/2014 09:29

There's some stickers on offer in M&Ps at the mo - contemplated them for our nursery but not sure if they'll be a bit much ...

ZylaB · 23/10/2014 10:31

juni hope the antibiotics are kicking in for you both!

I'm recovering from a long day in Paris yesterday, it was good, did bus tour to see the sights and ate a fancy lunch, but the best thing was when we got back and I got some feelings that I'm sure we're kicks, DH says he could feel the, too, so I'm really happy about that Grin

A gentle potter around Canterbury today and then the baby show tomorrow.

Show us nursery pics!!

teejayem · 23/10/2014 11:22

Tea (or the milk in tea) is making me boak at the moment, it's Orange juice or fizzy water, everything else just ends up back in the sink :( - really strange because when I'm ill usually orange juice is way too acidic to stomach. Happily at the 8 week mark today :D ... 2 more weeks to booking in... 5 ish till scan.... and overjoyed 2/3 of the way through this trimester. Hang in there Mini-Tee!

laurenamium · 23/10/2014 11:38

Yes please to nursery pics!!

Can we have a roll call for who's due when? I keep getting muddled!

JuniDD · 23/10/2014 11:49

Sounds like you're close furry! Glad all was ok.

Hope all ok ness

zyla your weekend sounds ace!!

MiniJ has finally had a turn of luck and has only lost 8% so that is GOOD!

Just had an ECG which was interesting and baby is halfway through her antibiox. So far they seem to be leaving her alone and desperately trying to find something wrong with me.

I've also overheard my snoring neighbour describe me as "so bloody posh"...I am so loving hospital life!

You haven't got your own room Juni?? I'm rather antisocial and the idea of being on a ward for five days would fill me with dread!

splodge77 · 23/10/2014 12:08

Urgh the worst thing about staying in hosp is the other patients!! I was ready to murder my room mates by my 9th night in hosp with DS. So noisy & annoying! Mind you I spent half the time boo hooing as my hormones were so mental so they prob hated me too! Hope you're home soon xx
