I've seen the group for May or June, but are there any other definite Junes yet?
Been getting faint positive lines for a few days but today have got a definite line, giving me a due date of around 6th June :)

Trying to stay cautiously optimistic at the moment as we had an MMC in May at 8 weeks.

So, who else is out there? :)

Hi all, if you are interested in the book phryn mentioned this article summarises some of it. www.slate.com/blogs/expecting_better/2013/09/11/drinking_during_pregnancy_what_the_experts_don_t_tell_you.html
I am trying to look at that chart of miscarriage rates in a positive way but it is a bit of an effort!

I didn't use any apps last time but I read the Day by Day Pregnancy Book and thought it was really good. There's a page for every day about what is happening that day. I'm reading it again this time (and I didn't think I'd bother). Good reviews on amazon so I'm not the only one who liked it!

I also read What to Expect When You're Expecting, which I also liked.

cuphat · 05/10/2014 07:23

Oh and I got the day by day book for £5 from WHSmith, a bargain.

cuphat · 05/10/2014 07:26

And I gave in and did my last digi test today. Came up as 3+ at 5+4 so I'm happy with that.

MrsExtraOrdinary · 05/10/2014 07:28

I briefly woke up at 2am when dh plonked ds in our bed. Fortunately despite his kicking I now have pillow divider, which works a treat! Wink i actually slept well. Would obviously be better if he could just sleep in his own blinking bed. He's just not tired. He's always had so much energy. We thought the garden would wear him out (just moved) but raining yesterday afternoon so that wasn't really a goer. Not quite sure what we are going to do with him. You wouldn't believe he actually was put in his own room at 7 months and slept through.

If anyone's considering the holistic approach to birth. Spiritual Midwifery is s good book to read. Really helped me get inspired for my first home birth.

MrsBeeBeeBee · 05/10/2014 07:32

Yey, welcome to the new BFPs.

I use the baby center app on my phone. it's ok. also have what to expect book from first pregnancy.

Well nausea has hit here which I wasn't really expecting! Not been sick thankfully, but there have been a couple of times when I thought I might be. I also have an awful cold, and pregnancy tiredness so generally feel like I've been hit by a freight train!

Forgot to say that when I spoke to midwife she said I wouldn't get an early scan as you have to have had a couple of mc in my area for that.
I don't feel too bothered by it because I don't think it would have reassured me much as I had quite a late on miscarriage at 8+5. I just need to hope that they have sorted out the backlog on dating scans in our area as my sister's friend recently didn't get hers until 16 weeks (they don't do NT in our area so it doesn't have to be as early).,They paid for a private scan at 12 weeks and think we'd probably end up doing the same if that happened.

cuphat · 05/10/2014 07:38

Oh gosh, they don't do NT in our area either; I hope we're not in the same area!

PerpetualStudent · 05/10/2014 08:24

Hi everyone, and welcome newbies!

Thanks for book/app recommendations. I've got Expecting Better & really like it.

Got my booking in appointment yesterday - via post - it's 11th November: I'll be (Fx) 11 weeks by then!
Anyone else think that's a little late for a first appointment?

bubalou · 05/10/2014 08:36

For anybody that is interested I did hypnobirthing with my DS.

I had a 4 hour labour from waters breaking to delivery - apparently had probably been in labour all say and didn't realise. I found it really helpful, calming and relaxing and allowed me to help manage my pain.

I didn't end up having any pain relief - not even gas and air Shock this isn't a brag as I don't think it matters and I wanted gas and air but they said no! Hmm

Evil midwifes.

MrsExtraOrdinary · 05/10/2014 08:52

Ideally I'd like another home birth but not sure I'm going to be allowed?

notsoold · 05/10/2014 09:36

Please may I tentatively join???? I got a light bfp last Friday and the lines are getting darker slowly.... ( it was like this before).
I will sit on a corner and keep fx for all of us.
My reason to be concerned? I am ( gulp) 44 and this pg it planned but happened on our first month of trying.
Please could anyone add me to the stats though?
3dcs.....dd is 20 years old, ds1 is 15 years old and ds2 is 11months old....
No symptoms whatsoever....

Perpetual, last time, my first appointment (booking in) was actually at the 12 week scan, so at 12 weeks!

Sunbathing, I get twinges every now and again. I wouldn't call them painful, but they're noticeable. I've had them since conception, and they're one of the reasons I suspected I was pregnant very early on (also had them with DD). Yes, you have all that waiting before you get your BFP but you can't actually relax until baby is in your arms.

It sounds normal to me, sunbathing. But do get checked out if you have concerns. It's positive that the line is getting darker.

I think they do have NT scans sunbathing - I also got a letter booking me in for one on 18th Nov - feels a bit left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing!

Just don't want to wait until 11 weeks to even speak to anyone, ideally would like to get a blood test or even an early scan to confirm I've got a happy bean! Think I'll call them & try to bring the booking in forward, and if not go see my GP. I know there's little they can actually do - just want a little hand-holding I guess!

Anyone feeling guilty not telling friends? One of my closest friends is also TTC, spent the day together yesterday & it got a bit farcical - she was suggesting prawns for lunch, sushi for dinner, wine at the theatre. I had to keep coming up with excuses & doing things like sneakily checking the ingredients of our gü puddings to make sure eggs were pasturised!
I should probably just have told her, but it just feels like tempting fate...

cuphat · 05/10/2014 11:20

I had spotting last time so spoke to my GP but even then they didn't let me speak to a midwife or mention a scan, I had to mention it to the midwife at 12 weeks.

HariboBrenshnio · 05/10/2014 11:47

Just popping in from the May 2015. I'll most likely be June seen as my EDD is the 28th of may.

Sunbathing i am SO happy for you. You helped me so much on the ttc board, i'm thrilled for you and have all my fingers and toes crossed for you!

Hi all, glad to read that people are staying positive. I've had lots of crampiness over last few days, a really sharp stabbing pain yesterday when I moved to get off the sofa and I almost cried from pain and panic that something bad was happening Sad No spotting or anything whatsoever though, so have convinced myself that it was just a muscle twinge from awkwardly getting up.
The pregnancy app I've got is "I'm expecting" which seems pretty good compared to the others I briefly downloaded and then deleted XD
Hope everyone's doing okay today! I'm going to meet with some friends, including one who's bringing her 4 month old daughter Grin
