I've seen the group for May or June, but are there any other definite Junes yet?
Been getting faint positive lines for a few days but today have got a definite line, giving me a due date of around 6th June :)

Trying to stay cautiously optimistic at the moment as we had an MMC in May at 8 weeks.

So, who else is out there? :)

notso I would personally go for the 7 +0 and then possibly see if you can arrange another for 9 + 0 it may only put your mind at rest for a week or so but I dont think I could wait until 9 weeks personally...

I second what sunbathing said a supportive/sympathetic gp can help immensly, if you can ever get an appointment at the gp that is!

AnythingNotEverything · 14/10/2014 12:44

Hi Notsoold ... Not sure if you recognise me ...

Sorry you're worried. I'm not sure either scan will quite give you the answers you need, which would be to be magically and safely transported forward to 12 weeks when you'll feel safer. Could you stretch to a private scan to bridge the gap?

jazzyjenbo · 14/10/2014 13:15

Just returned from my Scan
So so pleased to share with you the first picture of my new little bean!!! Approx 7+1 but hard to measure, edd 1st june 2015, good strong heartbeat seen. Thanks for the support x x x

Thank you, it looked my like a baby than a bean on the screen but at least it is there. Already rang the mw to get booked in so 12 weeks will b here in know time hopefully. Anyone else having early scan?

MrsExtraOrdinary · 14/10/2014 14:06

I hope you are feeling more at ease now jazzy Smile

PerpetualStudent · 14/10/2014 14:32

Congrats Jazzy that's so exciting!

My early scan's booked on Thursday, looking forward to it & dreading it in equal quantities - fx I'll have a pic of a lovely strong bean too!

fortywinx · 14/10/2014 15:33

Congrats Jazzy! Hope you feel a bit more relaxed now!

Lovely news and pic Jazzy

notsoold I was in the nearly same boat as you. I had an early mc at 6-8 weeks. EPU in the area won't offer me additional scans unless I have bleeding or cramping (the rule might have been different if I'd had a mmc but I didn't check). I've booked a private scan for what would be 9+3 according to LMP but will be more like 8ish as I ovulated late. When I booked I was torn between having reassurance earlier and between knowing that the longer I waited that the better the odds were of not misscarrying if the scan showed a heartbeat. When I called the private clinic they advised a scan after 8 weeks at the earliest. When I booked (at about 5 weeks) it seemed ages away. But I've coped by finding a date to aim for each week which has helped the time pass a bit. I'm pleased I went for the later one as also it will feel like a smaller gap to the 12 week scan (hopefully Smile).

Good luck whichever way you decide.

Jackiebrambles · 14/10/2014 16:18

That’s so lovely Jazzy! I hope you feel reassured now.

I’m feeling fine today except for the odd twinge/bit of cramping. My sense of smell is off the scale though! Sorry to those of you struggling with sickness.

I didn’t really get sickness last time, just had low level nausea for a few weeks (like when you are hungover but without the fun boozing part!).

So how much coffee/tea is everyone drinking??

cuphat · 14/10/2014 16:31

Congratulations to the new people.

Good news about your scan, jazzy.

I will get to see the midwife at 8 weeks (next week) after all. Pregnancy must be rare in this area as no one at the medical centre seemed to know the procedure! Luckily the midwife called.

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 14/10/2014 16:51

That's brilliant jazzy!

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 14/10/2014 16:53

Jackie, I'm having decaf coffee- maybe 4 or 5 a day! I use making a coffee as an excuse for a break at work so I do still like to keep up the ritual even with decaf.

PerpetualStudent · 14/10/2014 17:52

Jackie - I was having one instant coffee every morning, that was down from my 3-4 a day pre-pregnancy. In the past week or so I truely haven't been able to stomach it though (my DP is delighted as he read in Expecting Better that being too sick for coffee was a good sign! A highly subjective reading of that chapter if you ask me!)

On a related subject, how is everyone dealing with tiredness? I've been feeling sick and weak until early afternoon, & then rung out after that. As a PhD student mostly working from home my productivity has gone down the drain!

nataaaaliee · 14/10/2014 17:59

perpetual I've been having Short nap in the afternoon, I can't cope without it atm!

Just wondering if anyone else has this metal taste in their mouth or knows how to get rid or it? It's always there even when I'm not eatting I can smell and taste pennies Confused

sparkle17 · 14/10/2014 18:01

That's great jazzy.

I think i will get a private scan around 8 or 9 weeks. Costs £85.
My 12 week scan is not taking place till 13+1 so that feels ages away. Got mw appointment at 8 weeks.

Thank you again, yes I am now feeling much more confident, seeing that heartbeat was one of the best feelings, equal to seeing your own newborn!! Just a rush of emotion.

I now feel like i did with dc's 1&2.... Excited and wondering what it will b rather than if it will b.

For those who are worried sumthing isnt right, trust your instincts.

When I had my mmc i felt something wasnt right for about 2 weeks prior to the bit of spotting which lead me to the epu, i can't explain it but for example when chatting with friends and they said 'u'll have a new baby in august' i'd reply maybe.

This time i have felt it would be ok, still needed the reassurance and luckily this was supported by epu but if it hadn't of been i would of pain privately.

I hope we all have very smooth pregnancies from now on Grin
