I've seen the group for May or June, but are there any other definite Junes yet?
Been getting faint positive lines for a few days but today have got a definite line, giving me a due date of around 6th June :)

Trying to stay cautiously optimistic at the moment as we had an MMC in May at 8 weeks.

So, who else is out there? :)

Kyz I had a tough time with bf too. I didn't get any support either and was discharged from hospital before dd had even latched. I did manage to bf for a year which is really lucky, but I sacrificed my sanity to do so. Don't plan on doing that again.
I do feel somehow qualified to offer moral support and advice in bf because it was so incredibly hard for us though so am more than happy to talk about that.

TheDetective · 11/10/2014 05:12

Bloody insomnia here too. I didn't get this last time either.

Which isn't fair because like you Guybrush my toddler doesn't have the most reliable of sleep. AND to make matters worse... I'm on a night shift tonight so could really use a proper fecking sleep right about now!

I think I'm hungry. Going to get some grub and hope that helps... Grin.

I hope i dont get that. I'm a bad sleeper at the best of times.

kaybug · 11/10/2014 14:35

Hi All!
Based on online calculators I'm due June 15th! Not seeing a midwife until next month so trying not to get too excited yet but 6 tests all said positive and backed up the dates! We've been trying for over a year and it doesn't feel real yet. Still early days but feeling optimistic :)
Congrats to everyone else out there who is due in June too!

MrsExtraOrdinary · 11/10/2014 14:41

Hi sparkle! Lovely too see you here. So nausea is kicking in and sense of smell is extremely heightened. Drove to my parents 50 miles away to collect a fridge freezer in dhs van. I thought I was going to puke the whole way. My window didn't even work. So I sipped lilt and hoped for the best. Turned the offer of tea down from my mum. She didn't notice anything amiss. Kept my coat on as sporting a pot belly. Shock

kaybug · 11/10/2014 14:45

First one for me!
Can anybody explain all the abbreviations on here? I have no idea! :-/ Very new to all this!
Got my first appointment 13th Nov.. will be about 10 weeks! Anybody else got to wait that long? Is that quite late or the norm?

cuphat · 11/10/2014 15:53

I had a really hard time with bf too. Went to the classes beforehand but they didn't prepare me at all. My milk took ages to come in, baby lost lots of weight, kept falling asleep etc. Luckily, the support in this area was amazing; the midwives in the hospital were very helpful and a breastfeeding counsellor came to my house when I needed help. I wouldn't have got through it without their help (and the support of my husband). I also suffered horrendous problems (mastitis and an abscess) a couple of months in but carried on through it and I'm still bf now at 16 months. I never thought I'd get to 6 months. So support is out there in some areas.

jazzyjenbo · 11/10/2014 16:06

Kyz... I had a similar experience b/f dc1... Basically no support and i gave up after 3 days and bottle fed but also expressed for 8 weeks. I was determined to b/f dc2... It was very different after she was born and where as the first time i was shellshocked that i was a mum the second time holding a newborn, supporting her and getting her to latch was just easier. I demanded extra support and didnt ask to be discharged until i had feeding established, stayed in for 2 days after a straight forward birth.
Osney... My boobs kind of feel tingly and get pains down the side and generally feel and look bigger... Quiet afew of the girls myself included have mentioned were not having sex in early pregnancy but i think i'm right in saying that we have had previous mc's so sumhow it makes u more nervous about anything that could 'dislodge' the bean which is purely psychological as there is no evidence to suggest sex causes mc.
Welcome to detective and sparkle nice to read your names again Grin

jazzyjenbo · 11/10/2014 16:07

Also welcome kaybug x

PerpetualStudent · 11/10/2014 16:10

Congratulations kaybug!

I had a similarly late booking in appointment & managed to get them to bring it forward a couple of weeks. I don't think it's unheard of for them to be so late, but I just couldn't wait that long! Infact Im having an early scan on Thurs, cuz Im super nervous/impatient!!

Im feeling sicker than ever in the mornings - just starting to tip the balance from 'how exciting' to 'blurgh'!

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 11/10/2014 16:14

I am having sex in early pregnancy. Until I start to feel really sick that is.

kaybug · 11/10/2014 16:20

Thanks all, congrats to you too!
Glad it's not just me being made to wait! Finding it hard to carry on as normal and keep it a secret! My boobs are sore and I keep getting some mild cramps/ waves of nausia. Panicking about every little thing. We've tried for so long for this, just want to do everything I can to make things go smoothly!
I think I told the doctor the wrong dates as I read the 2-3 weeks off a Clearblue digital test and then forgot to add the 2 weeks on when they asked how far on I thought I was. Wonder if they'll let me bring it forwards! Waiting sucks! Just want a medical professional to confirm what the tests have told me!

Thanks SunbathingCat. Gonna ring on Monday and see if I can change it! Hope your right and the panicking eases soon. I'm on the phone to my mum every 5 minutes with more questions!
Hope you manage to get some sleep soon, must be really frustrating! I couldn't sleep for the first two nights after I found out, with excitement, but then slept like a log last night (well, other than 2 extra toilet trips in the night?! Surely I shouldn't be weeing more already?!)

First weekend this weekend without any alcohol since I turned 18! Strange feeling but loving it :)

Osney · 11/10/2014 17:26

Thanks for all the answers. Really appreciated. I just went into town and was surprised to find my sense of smell was so acute...I was walking around with my husband going "woah petrol, eurgh cigarette, oooh dog poo, ack perfume"...poor dh was looking at me like I was an alien - he is totally in shell shock (this was totally unplanned).

TheDetective · 11/10/2014 18:09

Welcome and congratulations Sparkle and Kaybug.

I'm quite chilled out this time. Won't be refraining from DTD just yet. I am praying the nausea and vomiting won't hit and we can carry on. But by my track record I've got 2-3 weeks before it hits with avengence. (1st time 5+6, 2nd time 7+0).

I've surprised myself in not telling anyone this time. We didn't last long last time. I feel very different about this pregnancy - I think it is because while it is my 3rd, last time it was like a 1st as I had a 10 year age gap, and it was DP's 1st.

This time DP knows what to expect, and knows what to do. So I feel less stressed and anxious about it all.

Managed a nap this afternoon thank goodness, so I feel okay for work tonight. Eeeek.

I'm going to pick up some lavender oil (we ran out a couple of weeks ago typically!) to pop on a tissue at bedtime. Hope that helps me sleep!

htf2 · 11/10/2014 20:06

thanks for the well wishes sunbathing, zacchery! Will not be a fabulous run, I'm starting to feel worse- we went to Harrods today (total tourists, we hadn't been there yet) and had tea and I couldn't look at the cakes after my first bite, such a shame! DH was quite happy about how it worked out for him. Fortunately I'm not really nauseous, more just don't want to look at food. Worried it's going downhill from here...
Osney my boobs are only a little tender really although more so today along with the zero appetite. And I know sex is fine, not that I am that interested. A bit how I feel about food really :)

and welcome all -kaybug sparkle the detective !

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 11/10/2014 21:37

My boobs are so sore. Had to hold onto them when going over pot holes in the car today.
Found an old maternity bra in my cupboard and stuck it on to discover that it is much too big. Can't believe how massive they got last time!

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 11/10/2014 21:38

Ooh and kaybug we're due date buddies! I thought mine was 17th but it's actually 15th.

ots · 11/10/2014 22:57

Welcome to yet more newbies :) .
This is feeling quite real now. I'm 6 weeks today which feels like a little milestone in it's own right.

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend.

Evening ladies.

Wow doing a wedding sober is weird! Not that I tend to get totally blotto but usually to the nice side of merry. Now so tired I'm starting to feel ill. So glad that we decided to stay at the wedding venue. Hubby can continue dancing up a storm and I'm curled up in a really fluffy bathrobe watching Armegeddon in a king size bed with a ridiculous amount of pillows!

Not telling people and dealing with people checking in post mc has gone fine - thanks for your help. After the mc I was dreading the wedding in a way because we would have reached 12 weeks and shared the news the week before - so it's been lovely to come here and feel hopeful instead of sad.

Yay to passing the six week mark sunbathing and ots (might be mistaken with ots due to memory of a seive).

Defo getting naseous now but it comes and goes (my SIL warned me about this and said don't panic). I seem to get a real surge of it in the evening. Anyone else... or just me and Phoebe off of Friends? Wink
