Any June mums to be yet?

I've seen the group for May or June, but are there any other definite Junes yet?
Been getting faint positive lines for a few days but today have got a definite line, giving me a due date of around 6th June :)

Trying to stay cautiously optimistic at the moment as we had an MMC in May at 8 weeks.

So, who else is out there? :)

Jenny how did you get a clothes peg stuck on your hand?
Re. home birth, I do have a couple of friends who had them with their first and had very positive experiences. I think it's just a case of preparing yourself for the fact that you can't really have expectations! But it's definitely a good thing to aim for and if you are happy with the midwife team and the pregnancy goes smoothly, why not?
My last labour was tough- not complicated but very very LONG. I'll plan this time to be in a birth centre attached to a hospital in case it's similar- I really REALLY did need my epidural last time.
Anyway, that's a long way off. Crikey. Still can't get my head round it.

Smugfearnleyshittingstool · 08/10/2014 18:20

Mrs- I'm not sure, I'd love too, if you're going for it with number 6 then really I should be brave too!
Fix- nice to have a coke addict buddy, we can crack it together!

So I caved in and peed on iC stick, nice big positive still so in going to try and not do it again and just have some belief that all is well. 5 weeks tomorrow!

bubalou · 08/10/2014 18:38

Hi all Smile

Welcome all newbies. Join the asylum.

Thank you all for the sympathy. Feeling a bit more human now however - it was on the busiest day EVER!

Were putting our house up for sale and today was photograph day Confused

I had 1,000 things to do before the estate agent was due at 1pm so my mum, sister and grandad all turned up and we spent almost 3 hours sorting, emptying and cleaning the house.

It wasn't that dirty by the way - just had a lot of stuff to take to the tip.

Hoping that I don't get that sick again tomorrow. Hmm

JennyOfOldstones · 08/10/2014 18:47

Guybrush I am still not totally sure how it happened I think I might have gone into shock.

Blimey Bubalou that sounds like an exhausting day! You are brave moving house while pregnant is it because you need more room?

Kyz · 08/10/2014 21:04

Evening ladies! Stats List for anyone wanting to check it

Feeling really rough atm, I am living on marmite on toast and crap, I wish I could stomach something healthy! I don't want to end up the size of a small house again!

Just realised I did the stats list link wrongly last time Blush that'll teach me for not pressing preview!

I've updated you Smug and notso

oh MrsE I was very very itchy last week and still am on occasion!

loving your positivity sunbathing keep it up :D

yup jazzy it will be ok :)

gosh ots that dream does sound horrible :( glad you're feeling positive now :) I'm also unsure whether to have an early scan, i'm not sure if I 'need' to have one for my peace of mind or not, or if I think I can hang on. I think the main thing for me is it's such a long wait to get to the 12 week scan and I panic that I don't know what's going on. I was fine in the later half of my pregnancy last time as I got an angel sounds heartbeat monitor thing and listened to ds every single day, can't remember when I first heard it but I listened daily and it made me feel SO much better. I am sure i'll be doing the same again.

so sorry about your dp's grandmother perpetual

I had an early gender scan with DS, but it was a reassurance scan and we ended up finding out. I was 17w and he stopped moving for a bit and I panicked. My mum had gone away for the weekend and I rang her and half an hour later she rang back telling me to get to our local private scanning place quickly as she'd paid for me to be seen for a 10 min reassurance scan and the asked us if we wanted to find out his willy was clearly visible on the screen so we said yes. For my birthday dp paid for a private scan package so I got a few scans especially as DS was awkward and was never looking the right way for pictures!

it's actually slowed down from the other day hasn't it bubalou??

insomnia returned for me last night, grr!

13 days till booking in and it's going soooo sloooowwwww

chook you're definitely not alone, I hate feeling so rubbish but if I didn't i'd worry, i also keep checking my boobs are indeed sore

have added you to the stats guy congrats and welcome! I've linked to the stats list at the top of this post if you haven't found it already - you can add in your other details (I think it lets you do it, if not just tell me and i'll sort it, but it should work) :) Sorry it's not so easy to find the stats list - I do wonder if maybe when we get to the next thread could whoever starts it off put the stats list in the first post or something?

oh smug those cupcakes are gorgeous!

I am seriously looking into sling stuff, I keep trying to anyway but don't really know where to start!

I have only grown one baby, he was 7lb 4.5oz but was as long as a long thing! A string bean he was! He did not stay that size for long, he grew so quickly it's unbelievable and I never did have a dotty baby, and he is now 23 months old and wears 3-4 yrs clothes and has size 8 feet (and he is due a measuring). i've nothing to compare him to obviously but regardless of size it BLOODY HURTS! My mums biggest baby was 10lb 6. I think she came keen, but actually she tells me my 7lb 2 brother was harder work. I am one of 7 (4 natural births, 2 c-sections and 1 adopted) so despite not having my own 'stats' I have my mum to ask and she always tells me no two labours are the same. Anyway i am waffling, you'll all have to tell me to shurrup when i waffle! Also, don't panic cuphat my brother was set to be an at least 10lb er they reckoned, and he was the 7lb 2 that came after the 10lb 6, and the other two after that, though c-sections, were both smaller than the 10lb 6er. I don't remember DSIS 3 but DSIS 4 was 7lb 6. I can't forget this one as she's only 18 months old, so is younger than my own ds!

thanks for the info on slings smug very helpful! You do grow good sized babies indeed!

have added your age to the stats mrse

hope you feel better soon forty

Position wise, DS wanted to do a sideways entry, and was face up but slightly twisted. Really hurt!!!!! It did nothing for my nethers I tell you and still the most horrifying moment for me was having two nurses nose-to-fadge in my nethers and one going to the other 'where does this bit go'!!! I was all starry eyed and amazed at my newborn but the minute I heard that I came crashing back to reality I can tell you! Oh the images I had of my poor foof after that!! It's ok, if anyone is concerned, they did an ok job on it in the end ;)

Realised I may be scaring some first timers - sorry! If it helps, it can't be that bad can it, if I'm here willing to do it all again?

Sounds like a busy day bubalou i've done a grand total of Jack today, other than not throw up and get ds to bed solo (dp works nights and this weeks shifts are 6-2)

Like the idea of us being an asylum!

Oh look an epic post! You'll have to get used to those i'm afraid (or tell me to shurrup) i'm well known for them. I can't help it, I don't like to leave things out

ots · 08/10/2014 21:16

Wow, loads more posts since I last posted, just been catching up :) . Lovely to see more newbies, and love reading all your updates. The stats page is getting nice and full too, and it's nice not to be right near the end of the list now Grin

Has anyone else been suffering with upper back pain? It comes and goes, and is sort of between my shoulder blades. Not properly painful, just a dull ache every now and then. Have googled but can't seem to get a very clear answer as to whether its anything to worry about. I've had a cold so maybe coughing and sneezing has bothered it?!

5+4 today :)

Hello there!!!
Almost 5 weeks. The tests are getting stronger but I am still sitting in a corner....
Back to read all the posts I missed...

cuphat · 08/10/2014 21:35

Thanks for the stats list again Kyz. I'm 34 but don't think I can add it myself.

And thank you for sharing those weights - that's what I like to hear!

bubalou · 08/10/2014 22:10

Hey all,

Jenny - not really something bigger - just different. We've been here for 8 years - very big house, 4 big bedrooms etc but just not the layout or location we want.

Were on a main road and want something quieter - going to move onto the 'village' it's called (not a village though) behind where we are now. It's lovely. DS school, a big green, 3 parks, beautiful family pub, tesco at the back and 5 min walk from a huge country park. Smile

Hopefully it will be worth moving whilst pregnant to be in the right house. Poor DH had never felt at home here. Ever. Weird man Wink

Shattered now. Another one here too who's husband is away a lot so I have my 6 year old DS sleeping next to me at the moment. Smile Not in a clingy baby way. It's just our thing we do when daddy is away sometimes so we get some nice cuddles before school.

Night all. Hope I don't wake up at 3am smelling garlic like I did last night!!!!! Kept me awake for aaaaages!!! Confused

bubalou · 08/10/2014 22:11

Oh and just realised - 6 weeks today Smile

MrsExtraOrdinary · 08/10/2014 22:25

Smug I've done this enough to know you have to do what's right for you. Have faith in your experience. You know your body better than anyone else. You do learn a bit more with each birth you experience. I learnt so much during the last 2 births. Last time I was left on my own as mw didn't believe me to be in labour. Story of my life. My body just shuts down if I get in a panic. So I had no mw until 10 minutes before baby was born. Dh made it with 2 minutes to spare. I'm determined not to give birth in s car.

Got a tremendous headache this eve. Don't think I've drunk enough today. And feeling really yucky. Please let me sleep. Insomnia give me just one night off! Wink

Kyz- loved your epic post, i daren't share my birth experiences as especially the first will hav all the first timers crossing their legs.. But onto dc3 so it hasnt put me off!
Ds was 7lb exactly (22 hrs from first pain to birth)
Dd was 7lb 4oz (11 hrs from waters going to birth) (8 hrs from first pain to birth)
Hoping this one will b little aswell, both were in tiny baby until a month and dd now 26 mths has just gone into 12-18 mth clothes.

notsoold · 08/10/2014 23:57

I had a really awful birth with dd 7lb 7 oz, a lovely ( if that is possible) using the pool with ds1( 9'9) and a great cs with ds2 ( he was breech). I was on insulin so he was only 7'9.

Here's the insomnia. Hmm

Been awake for about 2 hours.

Confused
PerpetualStudent · 09/10/2014 06:43

Morning all! Im getting into my routine of being woken up sometime between 4-5am by feeling sick - I would complain, but Im blatantly still just happy to be having symptoms!

Oof, thanks for sharing birth stories, I won't lie though - as a 1st timer Im crossing my legs while reading them, just a little. Though looking forward to joining the club & having my own story to tell come June! I was a tiddler at 7 lbs something, so Im keeping Fx this bean is the same!
Part of me would love the idea of a home birth, but I think I'd also worry about complications. The hospital I've gone for has a midwife led birth centre with pools, exercise balls & lots of things like that - but from what I've heard because those places are over subscribed & because they don't want anything to go wrong, the turf you out to the antenatal ward at the first sign trouble & don't let you back in...

Thanks everyone for your kind words on DPs gran. She was 101 and still really with it right until the end.

I'll be 7+2 for my scan - still early enough for it to be a vaginal one - oof again! Though other mumsnet threads assure me it doesn't hurt!

MrsExtraOrdinary · 09/10/2014 07:13

I slept! Hooray! With a momentary wake at 3am. Just found dh in ds's bed, so clearly not everyone slept. Our youngest is a horrendous sleeper. Did you sleep sunbathing?

My babies have been quite little really. But then I'm only 5'2" so I'm quite pleased of that. They've steadily got bigger each time though. My ex was 6'3" so was always a bit of a worry. Dd was very very long. She took ages to unfold.
Ds6lbs7oz
Dd6lbs14oz
Ds7lb4oz
Ds7lb7oz

Then I had
Ds7lb8oz with new dh, but he had a massive head on 75th centile that caused me a rather large problem.
So I'm hoping for a regular sized head this time, baby if you're listening!

cuphat · 09/10/2014 07:13

Wow, that was a good age, perpetual.

I love baths; they're my way of relaxing every evening. However I'm having them much cooler to be on the safe side. They're not as enjoyable though. Does anyone know an actual recommended temperature as I have no sense of temperature when it's cold outside (could use baby bath thermometer!). Our bath does keep the heat for absolutely ages - no topping up like with our last bath. It's a steel bath.
