I've seen the group for May or June, but are there any other definite Junes yet?
Been getting faint positive lines for a few days but today have got a definite line, giving me a due date of around 6th June :)

Trying to stay cautiously optimistic at the moment as we had an MMC in May at 8 weeks.

So, who else is out there? :)

Oh dear, bubalou.

Love the cake, smug.

No more tests here, and I don't do boob prodding but I do keep checking that the dark ring is on my nipples!

I grow big babies too - my first was 9lb 10 and that was at 39 weeks as I had a c-section. I was measuring average so it was a shock for everyone! And I had a girl, and they're supposed to be smaller. They usually get heavier so I dread to think what this one will be!

I still haven't heard back from a midwife.

cuphat · 08/10/2014 13:51

Good news about the test, sunbathing.

Chookford · 08/10/2014 13:51

oh dont say that sunbathing my mum is a twin! going back over my apps I ovulated on sept 1st, I just put off testing as I didnt want the disapointment of another bfn!

Smugfearnleyshittingstool · 08/10/2014 13:53

Chook I've 3 already, dd1 was 8.8lb, ds 9.8lb and dd2 9.2lb, all experiences quite different too, first was a major hosp birth involving a transfer, forceps epis etc and blood transfusion second was on a small birth unit laboured in water but some distress so bed delivery and a few sutures. Last delivery was a water birth at home, which was lovely, still not quick at 7 hrs but manageable.
I'm not sure what to do this time, guess I'll decide when/if time comes, it was lovely to get in to my own bed last time however!

Sun- I loved using slings and totally recommend it. I usually start with a stretchy 'moby' style wrap that are great to use for babies. After they get to about 12lb or so a woven wrap is easier, I have collected a few over the years and become very attached to them oddly- but if natural mamas is a baby wearing site that's good for picking up secondhand ones or finding out about sling meets local to you that allow you to try first. It does take a bit of getting used to but I was soon able to walk and breast feed if needed and often carried a heavy toddler miles and miles!

Chookford · 08/10/2014 13:53

wow cuphat 9lb 10! thats a good size!

Chookford · 08/10/2014 13:56

smug those are some good size bubbas you produce! I really would love a home birth this time but dont think I am allowed one as I have Graves Disease (thyroid issue) so with my dd they told me I would need to labour in hospital but her birth was text book so I may see if I get that far if I can try at home this time

cuphat · 08/10/2014 13:57

I'm panicking a bit after seeing that smug's second was a lb heavier!

do you still have to worry about taking a test in the morning this far along, or is that just for earlier when it might be really faint?

cuphat · 08/10/2014 14:12

No, it's just early on that you have to do it first thing. According to the instructions on mine, anyway.

Chookford · 08/10/2014 14:12

htf2 I have been taking mine at all times! I got my bfp at 1.30 in the afternoon and since then I have manged one test with fmu it doesnt seem to be making much difference for me to be honest!

Smugfearnleyshittingstool · 08/10/2014 14:33

With my second I did eat silly amounts of beef/steak well any meat I could get hold of really so maybe that made a difference, this time in trying to be more healthy and vegetarian(ish) in the hope of a tiny 7lber that will literally fall out, healthy and well with preferably with only one or two mild contractions!
Seriously though, I'd not worry about big babies, position of baby bears far more relevance to birth and pain I think, no lying back on the sofa in the last month unless you want a back to back long labour!

cuphat · 08/10/2014 14:42

I'm vegetarian so can't even avoid that! My husband is extremely tall, so I don't think I ever had a chance. DD's head was on the 99th percentile so she was just a big framed baby.

PerpetualStudent · 08/10/2014 14:57

Hi ladies - just a quick one to say my early scan is booked for next week - I'm excited and petrified at the same time! Fx for a happy result!

Smug are you planning on a home birth this time? I'd really like one again. Have had 3 hosp and 2 home births. I know I won't make it to hospital so opting for home as safest option.

So I did another test today which will be my last of the 3. Digi stated 2-3 wks and was about lunchtime. So think we can say hormones are getting stronger which is good.

Thanks for the stats envious. If you want to add my age, I'm 34.

JennyOfOldstones · 08/10/2014 16:20

I really like the idea of a home birth but as it is my first I think maybe not a good idea. I am a total wuss with pain so will probably be screaming for drugs. I got a clothes peg stuck on my hand the other day and cried as it was so painful, not a good omen.
Welcome guybrush love your username, I spent many happy hours on Monkey Island back in the day!

htf2 · 08/10/2014 16:55

The old 'clothes peg on hand' test for are you ready for a home birth - love it Jenny! Ooh fx perpetual :) and thanks sunbathing , we are going to Lisbon with very close friends from australia next weekend so 1.5 weeks away and I am definitely telling her, so would like to feel a bit more confident about it. She has been trying for a year so I feel terrible on her behalf if I tell her I took days to get pregnant - really really hoping she is pregnant and we can all be excited together!

fortywinx · 08/10/2014 17:15

Wow I miss coming on for one day and so much happens! I've been off work for two days, full of cold and exhausted.

Congrats to chook and guybrush (I second what Jen said about an excellent nickname Smile).

I haven't really thought at all about giving birth yet. Kind of trying not to think about it at the moment XD I like the idea of giving a water birth a go, but I know there's only one pool at the local hospital, so my chances of getting it are slim.

I also have a bit of a cola habit smug, I'm drinking decaf tea and coffee, but my "coke habit" is just difficult to overcome lol. Trying to stop myself from drinking it every day XD
