Christelle2207 · 04/10/2014 10:31

Ps we havent told anyone yet- we have a 14mo ds and I'm dreading the "how will you cope with 2 under 2?" question. I reckon the best answer will be "I guess I"ll find out!".

HariboBrenshnio · 04/10/2014 10:58

Christelle glad you got the reassurance you need and got to see your little bean :)

My DS turned 1 last friday and everyone has been surprisingly positive!

Why do people ask such questions?! Christabelle glad your scan went well!

Just back from the midwife with so much bumfp! Who knew so much came with Bounty?! Still hate how they lurk on maternity wards though.
I'm a proud owner of my notes booklet which is in purple, my favourite colour!
Answered all her questions and was so happy that she was was quick to tick the consultant and anaesthetist boxes as I have had slipped discs in the past and have a weak back.
I was extremely happy to be told that my hospital is opening a brand new Birth Centre in January so have been ticked for that unless complications arise. Each room will be en suite with it's own birthing pool and sofa with Pilates balls etc. Sounds lovely!

She was also sympathetic about my constipation (TMI alert-had some blood from back passage yesterday so may have piles or a fissure from straining) so she gave me my maternity prescription exemption form and to get Fybogel. She wasn't concerned but was sympathetic and said it was very common-women seem to be in either the morning sickness camp or the constipation camp. Not sure is like my particular camp!

Gingerbreadlady1 · 04/10/2014 11:36

sunshine my scans on the 3rd too, scan buddies! Have my booking apt on mon.

kitty that constipation sounds bloody horrendous! Hope you get some relief with the fybogel.

BB01 · 04/10/2014 11:59

Glad the scan went well, Christelle. When I went for a private scan the equipment was actually older than the stuff at the local hospital and the picture much less clear!

Sunshinesaz86 · 04/10/2014 12:00

Great to count each week isn't it kyz!

My EDD is 16th may mumof3. When's yours?

Yey gingerbread that's nice to have a scan buddie! I had my booking appointment about two weeks ago!

That new birth centre sounds wonderful kitty! My giant folder is canary yellow so obvious! Haha. Glad you had a sympathetic midwife too and I hope what she's prescribed helps.

BB01 · 04/10/2014 12:01

Our age gap will be almost the same then Christelle. Oh yes, people HAVE to comment on something so with a smallish age gap people will be pleased there's something obvious they can say. Last time it was my very small bump. I would have maybe ten comments a day on how small it was.

Christelle2207 · 04/10/2014 13:25

BB are you worried about such a small gap? ?TBH we really didn't expect to get PG this soon as TTC took ages last time yet this August we only DTD once! I'm shitting myself tbh, DS is still a crap sleeper and we don't know how we're going to do it.

mumxof3x · 04/10/2014 14:00

17th sunshine :)

Christelle was you on the july 13 group? Seem to recognise your name, glad scan went well x

mumxof3x · 04/10/2014 14:02

Ooops I mean august 13? My ds was early so came in july getting mixed up lol x

Jenni2legs · 04/10/2014 16:39

Been really good and not eating runny eggs or to much coffee, but just been to a food festival and my chicken wrap was a bit pink Envy I think it was though meat, so that could be normal, right?
I am worried as I feel queasy but then again I always do at the moment.

TinyDancer01 · 04/10/2014 16:56

Thanks all for your kind messages. Kind of feel in limbo at the moment as nothing has happened yet. Wish I had asked more questions as I don't fully understand what's going on.

My MIL who is a nurse thinks they are expecting me to mc before Thursday and rescan will just be to check everything has completed.

Told my boss what was going on after I got the news as I wasn't sure about being back in work next week. She said not to worry about work then spent all of Friday emailing and texting me and wanting to know when I would be back!

Congrats to those who have had successful scans.

BB01 · 04/10/2014 17:27

Christelle we were exactly the same. Took five months to conceive DD, knew it may take longer this time so started in Aug and hey presto, preggers first time!! Definitely do think a lot how am I going to cope. DD was very difficult til she turned one, especially with sleep. But we will cope somehow and I always wanted a small gap. Whatever the gap there are pros and cons! Anyway it's a long time till next May. Hopefully you will find things have become a lot easier by then. Things can turn around so fast with sleep etc. Fingers crossed they will for you.

Mumof3x were you on the July group too? I was and still am on the fbook group though DD was born in the June

Tiny you poor thing. It all sounds so unsure for you. Fingers and toes crossed it turns out better than you fear x

Christelle2207 · 04/10/2014 17:29

Tiny you poor thing. Did they not give you an option of erpc/medication to move things along, I couldn't bear being in limbo like you are. I would ignore messgs from your boss until you feel ready to go back.

Mumxof3x yes was on august 2013 board. DS was born 8/8/13.

Haily111 · 04/10/2014 17:53

Just made ours official ??

Bought cole bottles, with all our names on each one (including our dog) and then one with bump ??

Haily111 · 04/10/2014 17:54

That was of course meant to say COKE bottles lol x

Mslad · 04/10/2014 18:25

Evening all,

Tiny it's good to hear from you. I'm so sorry you're in limbo, I remember that feeling, of being in shock and not asking enough questions, then really unsure about what to expect to happen next. Can you call your midwife to ask further questions? I hope you're doing ok.

I loved Gone Girl last night. If anyone's read the book, they did a really good job of it, if you haven't read it, you'll probably enjoy it even more, not knowing what happens.

I'm a big strictly fan and this is probably the first time I'm going to watch it without a big glass of vino in my hand! Blush

plinkyplonks · 04/10/2014 19:09

Today, started off terribly - stuck in traffic and town centre was packed. Remind me never to have a scan or attempt to go into town on a Saturday again. Sorry for the poor quality pic, took a picture of a picture so some light reflection spoiling it. Beanie was asleep for the scan, although they woke up mid scan and started stretching around before falling back asleep again! Beanie was measuring 2 days ahead and heartbeat is strong. We are really relieved after such a terrible few weeks that beanie is still here. Still awaiting NHS scan, just wish I knew when it was now so I can mentally prepare myself for it.

Nausea has thankfully calmed down, still feeling drained of energy but with appetite slowly coming back I'm hoping not long now!

mrsdiddlydoo · 04/10/2014 19:11

Re carriers -not so good for tinies, but totally recommend the manduka. Really comfy and we still use it for 19m DS. Couldn't live without it.

Sorry to hear you're in limbo tiny I know I didn't ask enough questions earlier on in the year. They body is an amazing thing and it will all be sorted one way or another. Hope you are taking it easy. Maybe make a list of questions and phone up the EPU on Monday.

Starting to think maybe we should do some kind of wacky announcement.

Sunshinesaz86 · 04/10/2014 19:16

Sorry that your in still in limbo tiny! I hope u get some answers soon.

That's a great pic plinky how lovely to see your little bean.

I like your coke bottle idea haily! I don't think we'll be inventive enough for any exciting anouncements! Just the scan pic.

BB01 · 04/10/2014 19:39

Great news plinky!

Kyz · 04/10/2014 19:59

Evening all -

I've felt like utter shite today :( I can't wait for bed!

That's exactly why I want to look into babywearing haribo, I figured I would have free hands then for DS needing me and for me doing all the usual stuff!

fluffeh you can get safe collars that unclip should the cat get caught. As a child I had cats that were allowed outdoors and they had and lost several of those collars!! But, we would've rather lost the collars and if your kitten is indoors then the collar will only get lost around the house and shouldn't cost you a fortune :)

BB01 I got it on amazon, they did various styles and it really did go down a treat :D I loved watching everyone's faces as they worked it out

21 weeks mumof3 that must've taken some resolve! I've caved already and i'm only five weeks

glad you got some reassurance christelle :)

ooh happy birthday to your ds Haribo

eek kitty I hope the fybogel helps you out and gives you some relief

Tiny i'm sorry you're stuck in limbo :( that seems really unfair :(

that's fab plinky lovely to see another scan picture :)

the coke bottle idea is fab haily!

SmileyScooby · 04/10/2014 20:08

Thinking of you Tiny and sending lots of virtual hugs x
Plinky great pic :)
kitty hope the fybrogel helps!

I'm so tired today, managed to lay in until 9ish and then have struggled when watching tv to not fall asleep, managed to do some work but not as much as needed too so more including house work to do tomorrow.

Am supposed to be going out for Chinese this week for a friends birthday...I love Chinese...please tell me that everything is ok to eat at a Chinese restaurant?! As it is am going to drive so got excuse for not drinking don't want to have to come up with reasons not eat the food hehe

BB01 · 04/10/2014 20:37

Smiley I think in terms of food poisoning etc, as long as they have a good hygiene rating, Chinese is pretty good. The meats and seafood tend to be thoroughly cooked. I remember when we went backpacking and had a vaccination appointment with the nurse she actually recommended deep fried stuff if we were worried about food poisoning as it is more likely everything will be very well cooked

mumxof3x · 05/10/2014 08:29

No BBO1 I meant august lol I got confused cause my ds is a july baby so automatically put july 13 lol but he was due in august. Thought you was christelle ive name changed, I was beckie90 on there :)

Kyz I was so scared lol I just kept it to myself but was torture, but am not telling many people this time either, cant face it just yet.

Hugs tiny xx
