Thanks ladies regarding the cheese question (i must admit don't normally read the packaging but was bored waiting for my red bush tea to cool down!!)

I still haven't had ms but have been feeling uncomfortably bloated and had weird taste in back of throat so it may be on the horizon...had a real hankering for marshmallows earlier but no joy in the corner shop!

mumxof3x I've also got booking appt next Thursday. Am hoping she will tell me when scan will be as had no letters etc.

Kyz · 03/10/2014 20:22

Evening ladies :)

Today we put the t-shirt on DS that says he is going to be a big brother and took him visiting :) It was a lovely happy day, i've eaten nothing but marmite on toast and i'm shattered but it's been good :)

kitty i had some spotting like that with DS, was definitely before my 12 week scan, and it was fine :) It happened twice but I was told to stay off my feet and try not to worry. My mum had spotting with a couple of us too, and it wasn't anything to worry about :)

fluffeh a collar with a bell might work? I'd ring the gp and just check about your referral :)

sunshine i'm the same with fridays lol :) am 5 weeks today

glad you're feeling so much better just :D

sorry you're feeling rough plinky :( hope things get better for you soon

ooh you have rats too tori? I used to breed them :) Cleaning out the cages when I feel this rough isn't fun, though! I'm due to do them this weekend again, last week wasn't too bad but i'm not looking forward to it this weekend!

bb01 your thoughts sound very similar to mine, sometimes i wonder how on earth i'll manage but i wanted another so much i know it'll all work out. Sometimes ds is such hard work on his own, but he'll be that little bit older by the time baby arrives and hopefully we'll get into the swing of things eh?

one thing i do know is i want to look into this babywearing malarkey, i've read a few times it makes cooking and looking after current dcs a fair bit easier if baby is in a sling if he/she wont settle and whatnot

gin i've wanted cold things too, plain fruit ice lollies and ice cold juice/fanta

I've got a craving for beef/mince/burgers atm. But the thought of cooking meat makes me want to vom.

BB01 · 03/10/2014 20:27

Mumxof3x you must be exhausted. You poor thing!

BB01 · 03/10/2014 20:31

It's reassuring to hear I'm not the only second timer who has worries Kyz and Haribo, thank you. Actually I would think it's very normal to have these little wobbles but I sometimes feel very guilty about them! I have always wanted two close together and think it's better for us as a family so trying to hang onto that during the darker moments!

Oh someone (sorry can't remember who, Haribo?) mentioned slings
DD practically lived in hers the first few months. I'd recommend either a stretchy wrap such as the Moby, or the Close Caboo, for tinies. I'm hoping the next baby will be a sling lover as that's where I am planning on keeping them for much of their first half of a year!!

HariboBrenshnio · 03/10/2014 20:32

Kyz your announcement sounds lovely.

I'll also be looking into baby wearing. I want to feel i have my hands free if baby is unsettled and DS needs me. I've been recommended the NCT close caboo for newborn carrying so think i'll be buying one. Then as they get older there seems to be a whole worlds of different sling! Might head down to a sling library too.

justyou don't worry you didn't sound smug - I'm glad to hear your feeling good, I hope I will be too v soon!

fluffeh we are scan buddies, mine is oct 30 as well. I'm excited to see the baby but apprehensive too as so much at stake - fingers crossed it all goes smoothly.

Well I spent the morning at a meet and greet for peppa pig with my three year old. Insane idea, kids screaming hysterically, parents pushing in line and free candy - crazy. Then we got to the front and my son freaked, so we got a picture of me grinning manically with peppa while he hid under my skirt. The only positive was it was air conditioned at the mall. I'm in California and its 36c today - too hot! Planning on spending tomorrow at the beach though, which will be nice.

LinaDee · 03/10/2014 23:08

Good evening ladies, I'm just checking in as I haven't been on for a couple of days.
I went back to work today after 4 weeks off sick after my minor melt down thinking I was miscarrying for the second time this year. It was.... Interesting! Not sure yet if going back was exactly the right thing to do.

Can't believe I am now 9+3. Feeling nauseous, tired - all the classic symptoms are strangely comforting.

I want a scan buddy!!! Anyone else got their 12 week scan on the 24th?!

I'm just ranting now! Hope everyone is well.

Weekipper · 04/10/2014 06:27

Hi All!

My scan date is 20/10. It's taken ages for the date to come through. MW is visiting for appt on Sunday, the house better be spotless!

I used a Moby Wrap a bit till DC1 was about 8 months. In the beginning I worried she was too hot and squished and then later all the lengths if fabric annoyed me. But a few of my friends swear by woven wraps. Now we use a little life back carrier which I much prefer.

Fluffeh · 04/10/2014 06:42

My slings are/were so useful! DD is a confident (read has a massive meltdown if I try slings or buggies) walker so we don't use them much now but up until she walked I always had her in one.
The best use as she got bigger was a back carry in a Mai tai while grocery shopping. She loved being able to see and it stops her grabbing food from the trolley and throwing it.
I'll be washing my moby before this one arrives in the hope of getting more quality time with her while baby sleeps.

I'm not sure on whether a collar is a good move for the kitten as I worry he'll get stuck on something and I won't notice. DD would be devastated if I inadvertently caused the death of her new best friend. Since we have had him she's fallen in love with every animal she sees. Even giant spiders haha!
Gin - yay a scan buddy! Our hospital is kinda mean and only let you have one picture even if it's blurry or not very good. I'm guessing they think as I don't see it doesn't matter but I still like to show it to everyone else.
Has anyone got anything fun planned this weekend? We are going to a second hand sale today to hopefully find some bargain maternity clothes or bigger sized leggings etc. money is tight and this will be my last baby so I don't want to spend a huge amount for a few months wear.

Turquoisetamborine · 04/10/2014 07:04

My scan date is 29th October if anyone has the same one? My H will be able to come with me for the first time as he missed DS's three scans due to work and missed the seven week scan this time. Can't wait.

Last time for my 20 Week scan the nurse said the baby had no stomach so I was rushed to a bigger hospital. It turned out to be nothing but it was the worst hour!

Where are you going for your second hand sale Fluffeh? NCT? I'm not buying any maternity stuff til 12 week scan is over. I have browsed Next and Asos though!

We are at a kids party today then just having family time before H goes away again on Monday. Hate him being away.

Have a lovely weekend everyone x

Justyouwaitandsee · 04/10/2014 07:04

Thanks Gin - hope thinks improve for you soon. I remember thinking that I couldn't imagine ever feeling better. Felt sooo bad. But then the sickness seemed to go just as suddenly as it came.

Weekipper - my scan is on the 20th too! Smile

BeanCalledPickle · 04/10/2014 07:33

gina I am you scan buddy on 24th!

I didn't get on with wraps as it was so bloody hot last summer. I have a manduka carrier which was awesome. Got her up several mountains in that! Highly recommended.

My big worry about two is dealing with DD post section. The little one will be no bother. The big one will want to climb on her mummy. And kick her in the stomach. She's staying in nursery and DH doesn't work Wednesday so it's only Monday I'd be on my own. I guess he will need to take those days off for a fair few weeks!

BeanCalledPickle · 04/10/2014 07:34

Oops lina not gina!!

KittyVonCatsington · 04/10/2014 07:42

I love how you did your announcement kyz!

My scan is booked for the 22nd. Luckily, DH will be on Half Term (he teaches in a private school so has two weeks off lucky sod!) so will be able to come too.

Oooh, don't feel so hot today. This constipation can fck the fck off now! So painful and just makes me worry all the time. Come on little bean! Seeing the midwife for the first time this morning so hopefully she can give me advice.

Hope you all have a good Saturday!

fififolle · 04/10/2014 07:53

Weekipper and Justyouwaitandsee my scan is on 20th too.
We're off to a wedding today so lots of 'gin and tonic' (fizzy water with ice and lemon) will be consumed whilst trying not to look bloated!!

BB01 · 04/10/2014 08:11

Haribo, it might be worth trying on the regular Caboo if you can plus the NCT one. The NCT one is thinner (which might be good for summer) and some don't find it as comfy. It's a bit narrower and can be harder to breastfeed in, if you're thinking of doing that.

Kyz meant to say I love your way of announcing it! Might get one of those for DD!

mumxof3x · 04/10/2014 09:13

Oooo I cant wait to find out when my scan is, think with ds3 though I only recieved it 10 days before the date :/

Ive not told many people yet, only mum knows, my partner and my partners mum, im very worried about peoples reactions lol. But I kept ds3 pregnancy a secret until 21wks not even my mum and dad knew, so least mum knows this time.

Hope everyone is doing ok x

HariboBrenshnio · 04/10/2014 09:49

Thanks BB01 i'll have a look at that too! I'll go to a sling library before i buy i think. I was hoping to breastfeed this time round and hoping the sling would allow me to do that once it's established plus take care of DS.

OP posts:
BeanCalledPickle · 04/10/2014 09:53

I never managed to get on with feeding in the carrier. Seems like a great idea! The thought of breastfeeding again fills me with horror. The pain and the the being stuck to the sofa for hours cluster feeding. I know it's absolutely the best thing but my god it's all consuming at the beginning!

Sunshinesaz86 · 04/10/2014 10:11

Morning ladies. Omg the weathers taken a turn for the worst it's actually hailing here horrible!!

My scans not till the 3rd November!! Ages away, I was hoping it'd be the last week of oct but no such luck!!

mumxof3x · 04/10/2014 10:15

Sunshine when are you due? Mine will probs be sometime in same week as yours x

Christelle2207 · 04/10/2014 10:27

I had a scan at the EPU this morning as I have been crampy and called for advice. Although I was never that worried they were pretty insistent I go in for a scam so I did. Saw our little bean and his heart beating-wasnt able to date accurately but she said 7-8 weeks which will be right. I had a private scan booked for Monday which I will now cancel because I have the reassurance I need. They would probably get me a better picture but I don't think will be worth £100 whereas reassurance is priceless.
Felt very bad for some of the other ladies in the waiting room who clearly didn't have good news.

Christelle2207 · 04/10/2014 10:28

Scan not scam!
