I have a fruit bowl full of delicious juicy looking fruit and all I want to eat is salty snacks, poor baby is going to come out looking like a wotsit! :)

Justyouwaitandsee · 20/09/2014 16:21

Hi Jenni - salty snacks all the way for me too! Just sent DH out for pork pie, piccalilli and Pringles (and my lunch was avocado with piccalilli) mmmm...

Having good and bad days. Have spent most of today in bed feeling shaky and sick, but have guests arriving shortly so need to try and pull myself together. (Now 7wks+5)

GinIsCalling · 20/09/2014 16:36

Quick question - of those suffering from morning sickness has anyone lost weight? I've lost about half a stone, from googling it looks like that's ok. But I'm only 7 weeks so have another five weeks of sickness to go. Wonder if I need to go back to the doctor? I didn't have morning sickness in my pregnancy with my son, so this is new to me.

Justyouwaitandsee · 20/09/2014 16:42

My weight has been up and down gin - I think you might want to speak with your midwife or doctor if you have lost that much. If your sickness is debilitating, then they could maybe prescribe some meds to help.

Sunshinesaz86 · 20/09/2014 17:09

Sorry to hear what your experiencing phantom hopefully it's too early and everything will be as it should be, I know it's easier said than done.

I would go back to docs if your suffering so bad gin. They are able to proscribe something aren't they?

Well done for the fruit Jenni even if u are wanting naughty foods going fit the healthy option is good!
Do u generally like piccalilli justyouwait or is it pg craving!

Yey so glad mr kitty's cast is finally coming off, you'll be ready for lots of pampering by then.......enjoy! Tomoro I will be doing as little as possible just chilling so all good. Smile

piglet81 · 20/09/2014 17:33

Thanks Kitty, I've been repeating your mantra! Smile

mrsdiddlydoo · 20/09/2014 18:07

Gin I Lost weight when pregnant with Ds and despite already being tiny my midwife wasn't worried. If you are concerned it doesn't hurt getting checked out. Are you managing plenty of fluids? I think it only gets more concerning when you can't keep any thing down and are dehydrated.

kittiker · 20/09/2014 18:21

Hi everyone
I'm brand new here and brand new to having babies! I'm 7 + 5 with my first and I'm so nervous! I'm pretty tired and feel sick most of the time but I haven't been vomiting so much this week.

The main reason I'm terrified is that I had quite a lot of cramping weeks 3 - 5 (no bleeding). I think this was mainly down to constipation (tmi, sorry) and MW and GP have been reassuring but I can't stop thinking 'what if'. Roll on 12 week scan and the next set of worries!

Due date is 04/05/15

GetTheRedOut · 20/09/2014 18:45

Antony else dodging family days out due to sickness? I'm feeling so guilty and yet so ill Sad

slightlyconfused85 · 20/09/2014 19:06

Hello everyone, I think I belong here for now! I got my bfp today and by the NHS edd calculator I am due 26th May. This is my 2nd, my DD is currently 22 months old. Really mega nervous about the prospect of two, but excited all the same. I will stay quiet and lurk while I'm still such early days but looking forward to the journey with you all hopefully.

GetTheRedOut · 20/09/2014 19:07

Kittiker I think cramping around then is normal. I was cramping in weeks 3, 4 &5. It stopped in week 6 though

NoRoomForALittleOne · 20/09/2014 21:41

Gin, the point at which they are supposed to worry about weight loss is 5% weight loss, then serious concern at 10%+. However, the bigger picture needs looking at as well. You should have your urine checked for ketones as a measure of dehydration. Also, how much is the sickness affecting your day-to-day life? Are you able to do normal daily things? Do you need help looking after yourself?

Sadly pregnancy related vomiting is not treated universally in the UK. Doctors can be reluctant to treat it and many are unsympathetic. Oh, and there was some research in 2008 (I think) that showed ginger does absolutely nothing to help. So if people are irritating you by suggesting ginger biscuits (which are the most vile thing to throw up) you can tell them where to stick their ginger biscuits with confidence Wink Shock

Justyouwaitandsee · 20/09/2014 22:59

Hi sunshine - I do love piccalilli but I've never eaten it with avocado before. Or in such quantities.

Have felt pretty rubbish today and just threw up my entire dinner. Whoever called it morning sickness is a complete liar!

jazzyjenbo · 21/09/2014 00:27

Hi, also hopping over from the September bus.. Bfp on 20/9. Will try and read back over the may thread to get to know u all but may just lurk for awhile as only 4 weeks and had mmc in jan at 9 weeks.

lotsoftoast · 21/09/2014 07:54

Just sticking my head in from the March group - for those thinking about home birth there's a fab group on fb www.facebook.com/groups/homebirthchat that is an invaluable resource for support and advice :) T

acemay · 21/09/2014 08:38

Hello everyone, I hope pregnancy is treating you all well! I had my first midwife appointment on Friday. I thought it was going to be the booking appointment but it was really basic, she just told me to take folic acid, cut out alcohol etc. She has provisionally moved my due date forward by a week though, and while I think she's wrong at least I should be further up the list for my scan appointment :). She also told me that the local hospital has an early pregnancy unit which is self referral and she almost seemed to be encouraging me to go! I'm going to try to wait for my 12 week scan but it's so reassuring to know it's there! If anyone has found any miracle cures for the delightful all day nausea please share!

LinaDee · 21/09/2014 09:06

Hi acemay,

In my last pregnancy I has nausea all day long.
Bizarrely, eating made me feel better so I found dry or fairly inoffensive foods I could stomach to graze on all day like crackers, grapes, rice cakes, cereal, tea biscuits etc. I even kept something on me when I was teaching my classes. The kids were looking at me like I had two heads!

2preteendramaqueens · 21/09/2014 09:37

Hi all just making my place sorry I haven't posted in a while iv been hugging the toilet Sad Or sleeping when my other 2dds have let me I also work part time and have a man child that needs attention too. And today I have a list the size of my arm as dd1 is going camping with her school tomorrow and wants lemon drizzle cake to take to share with everyone dd2 wanted eggs and potatoes for breakfast and man child wants a roast today also iv got a mountain of uniforms to wash and dry for tomorrow Sad

Cariad2014 · 21/09/2014 09:51

Marking my place. Cariad2014, 32, dc#1, EDD 25th May

Likely to lurk for a while as had a cp back in June so am petrified of it all going wrong again. I've also had brown spotting for the past few days. GP was most unhelpful when I saw her last week, and I've been told not to expect a midwife appointment until week 11, but I think we'll pay for a private scan at 7-8 weeks if I make it that far.

CostaLotta · 21/09/2014 09:55

Oh thank you lotsoftoast I will check that group out

KittyVonCatsington · 21/09/2014 09:56

Hello and welcome to all the September bus graduates-congratulations! Grin

2preteen I know where I would tell man child's roast to go Wink Hope you get through today okay!

acemay-slowly sipping ice cold water has helped my nausea. I'm lucky that I haven't actually thrown up yet but the god awful constipation can bugger off

Teaandcrumpets2 · 21/09/2014 09:58

Hi ladies. Been lurking for a while bit feeling brave enough to join. Today I'm 7 weeks pregnant with baby number 1. Finally got over the shock as I had been off the pill for over a year and nothing was happening so we got a puppy (something we had always talked about). Next month a positive pregnancy test!!! So now have a crazy puppy and a baby on the way :-0 morning sickness is intermittent but always seems to happen after I take my preg vitamins! Anyway hello to you all and fingers crossed to us all for happy healthy pregnancies x

Teaandcrumpets2 · 21/09/2014 10:04

Ooh forgot stats..... Teaandcrumpets2, 34, dc 1, EDD 10th may

Rockinghorse123 · 21/09/2014 10:09
