Oh Deftones. So sorry.

kittiker · 29/09/2014 15:25

So sorry to hear of people's losses - take good care of yourselves.

Came home from work today at lunchtime as I'm feeling so crappy - just limping to the holidays now (2 weeks to go). I've got a parents' evening tomorrow which I'm dreading - I just hope I don't puke on anyone.

Got a private early scan on Saturday so excited and nervous about that. I'd rather know now if something's gone wrong and it'll worth the price (£39) to have my mind put at rest for about, oh, 10 minutes before I start worrying again.

9 weeks today - I have never known time pass so sloooowly.

LinaDee · 29/09/2014 16:09

Would it be crazy of me to say that I haven't contacted the EPU cos I think everything is ok?
I know that makes me sound crazy. With my last pregnancy, I knew something wasn't right immediately. I don't feel that this time. Of course, if I have anything else that concerns me at all I'll be up there like a shot but I have a good feeling about this pregnancy. I'm trying so hard to stay calm and be positive.

Deftones- how absolutely gutting for you. Thanks Sending lots of hugs

kittiker Boo to Parents Evening-really early in the year, poor you! My first ones not until the week after half term at least. Will be thinking of you!

I was going to go for an early scan this time round but then thought it wouldn't stop my worrying afterwards, as losses can happen later too so I'm just living in denial-land and practising the art of positive thinking which is easier said than done whenever I have a freak out! I'm still frightened of the toilet for some reason....

Let's get through another week ladies! Grin

bradders85 · 29/09/2014 18:11

Thinking of you deftones xx

kittiker - hope parents evening goes ok and doesn't go on too late - I have one next week!

I also appear to have got the cold that is doing the rounds at work! Already snuggled up in my pjs :) Still very few symptoms here, slightly tender boobs and insomnia - booking in app on Wednesday so escaping from work early (they don't know the real reason yet!) Hope everyone has a good week x

Justyouwaitandsee · 29/09/2014 18:44

So sorry deftones - you are in my thoughts too.

Definitely seems like the worst of the sickness has passed, but still feeling a bit worse for wear and a bit light headed.

BeanCalledPickle · 29/09/2014 19:52

So who has already packed on a load of weight? I've already gained 3/4 pounds. This is very bad news! Last time I gained three stone but I put that down to going from a huge amount of exercise and reasonable diet to virtually no exercise and eating through the sickness, and then remaining constantly hungry. I lost about 2.5 stone afterwards but was definitely a good half stone up on my pre baby weight. I really don't want to pack it on like last time. Argh. I know it's not that big a deal but I just wish I could exercise some self control!

Titsalinabumsquash · 29/09/2014 19:59

I've gained about the same Pickle, but after having HG through my previous 3 pregnancies I'm terrified of being sick this time and if eating every hour stops it, then so be it!

Kyz · 29/09/2014 20:03

So sorry deftones take care of yourself Flowers

You can bath kittens fluffeh I would use johnsons baby shampoo or something similar and you would only need a dot. I have four ragdoll cats (them there fluffy things with blue eyes) and they come up lovely after a shampoo! Note: I don't regularly bath them but have needed to at one point or another over the years!

Thats a good price kittiker :) Hope saturday is here soon for you!

hope you feel better soon Bradders

Bean I was mightily hacked off this morning to discover i've gained 3lbs. Last pregnancy I gained 5st. I am NOT doing that again. But I feel constantly hungry and I daren't do too much in the way of exercise in case it's too vigorous etc. Balls. I didn't think i'd even eaten too much/much in the way of crap but clearly I was wrong!

Still drraaaagggging lots here. Guess it means I have plenty of time to prepare and all that Hmm

meringue33 · 29/09/2014 20:06

Sick as a dog
Suspect I'm losing weight
Too down to post most days I know I should be celebrating but I feel sooo sorry for myself!
Clinging to the hope I'll feel better by 12 weeks, I did last time
X

speedbird17 · 29/09/2014 20:07

Bean I am so concious of putting too much weight on! I am resting at 1st heavier than my 'happy' weight as I put on 3st with DD and never quite got the last one back off.

We eat clean here, but I have been so tired I've not been doing my daily walk or run, plus as I am now not working until May 2016 we are having to reduce DD's hours at nursery drastically so I will not have the luxury of time to use the gym or go for a run through the woods!

Deftone so sorry to hear of your loss - be kind and take care of yourself xxx

Had quite a lot of bloody discharge on Saturday night, rang 111 as have no contact for midwife/unit until booking on 15th and was told 6weeks is far too early to scan and it's v normal even though my last two mc started like this. So waiting it out and hoping for the best!

Gingerbreadlady1 · 29/09/2014 20:11

Apparently a healthy weight gain for me in first trimester is 4.5 pounds, I've already put that on & I'm only 6.5wks! I'm gonna be an elephant!

My newest worry is an ectopic, why do we torture ourselves so?!?

Turquoisetamborine · 29/09/2014 20:20

I've had a right carry on the last couple of days. First my H left out car parked on the road and someone has crashed into it so I'll have to sort getting that fixed while he is working away. Then I've let the cats in and one has had diarrhoea from the top of the stairs through the house to the back door. I was so sick.

I had no choice but to clean it up even though it's dangerous. I put my good leather gloves on to do it as I had no rubber gloves which I've had to chuck out.
The cats are 21 and 19 and I think it may be time for them to go to the big litter tray in the sky as they don't use their litter anymore but I can't cope with this being pregnant and H working away. I can hear son crying about it upstairs as I broached getting them put down.

What a day.

Thank you Tori - I can relate to everything your saying.
I had a horrible feeling with my pg that ended in MMC in June that the baby just wasnt meant to be. At that time, I convinced myself I was just being silly but deep down some how I knew.
I don't feel that this time. It doesn't mean I don't have anxieties - who could come through that and not? - but they're not the same.

The streak I saw earlier was VERY minimal, so much so I thought it might be from some irritation down below as I think I have thrush again Hmm
I still feel nauseous and very tired.

If anything else happens I'll be straight back to EPU.
I now have the dilemma of whether I feel I am ready to return to work on Friday.

Mslad · 29/09/2014 21:16

Evening lovely ladies, I've just caught up with the thread as I had 9 extended family members visit me in a holland since Thursday. They're real party people so I was out with them till after 2 every night, trying not to sleep, drinking my 0% alcohol beer. I'm so tired but had a great weekend.

My thoughts go to everyone who had losses or scares over the weekend Flowers & a big hello to all the newbies. This really is like a very slow but terrifying roller coaster ride.

I have my booking in appointment tomorrow, I'm not expecting it to be too exciting as I only did it last May, but in these months where it feels like a waiting game, it feels nice to be doing something pro-active.

7+2 - very tired, very mild nausea, mildly sore boobs & plenty of wind

plinkyplonks · 29/09/2014 21:55

Deftones - Oh no, please take care x Sad Flowers Flowers Flowers

Lina - Good luck, hope everything goes well x

BeanCalledPickle - What a lovely scan picture!! Bet you're chuffed to bits x Flowers

CockBollocks · 30/09/2014 09:50

meringue i'm with you, most days can't even look at a computer screen.

My worst moment was throwing up in a car park bin on sunday Sad.

9 weeks now so really hoping it will start easing off.

TinyDancer01 · 30/09/2014 11:21

Morning ladies,
Woke up at 4am Absolutely roasting, throat feeling like it had razor blades in it Sad eventually got up at 5am to make up some honey, lemon and clove to try and soothe it. At work now and feeling majorly rubbish.6pm can't come quick enough.

The pharmacist said it was safe to take paracetamol but I'm just so paranoid about taking anything after my last mmc. Will try and hold out and see if I can improve without it.
Has anyone else taken it while pg?

Sunshinesaz86 · 30/09/2014 11:30

Hi tiny. I've been experiencing bad stomach pains for the last few weeks and am taking paracetamol quite regularly. I always try not to take painkillers if I can help it but these pains have been too strong and EPU and midwife said it's fine to take them and safe so even though I know it's easier said than done don't worry and suffer if u don't have too. X

Jenni2legs · 30/09/2014 11:46

I went to doctors yesterday as I've been off work for three weeks with cramps. She said to take paracetamol, I argued that I would have been taking it daily for nearly a month if I took it every time I felt in pain. She was insistent it was fine.
I can't help but think that much must be bad though.

BB01 · 30/09/2014 11:54

I took paracetamol through my pregnancy for various things and gp always said it was fine. Think even co-codamol is ok if not during last few weeks of pregnancy but ibuprofen to be avoided. But double check (maybe with pharmacist) as advice may change!

BB01 · 30/09/2014 11:55

Tiny I remember the GP saying that it was much better to take painkillers to reduce high temperatures than to not take them, because high temperatures can be dangerous for the baby
