Hello, I'm new to this so here goes! First baby - a boy - due 24 March so I'm 17+1 today. Haven't 'popped' yet either and no movement to speak of. I am tall and wear loose clothing anyway so no one seems to have noticed (which can be useful and frustrating at the same time!)

I'm finding that working from home can also be tricky as I'm prone to navel gazing, and now it's quite literal!

It was lovely to read all the posts. My 20 week scan feels ages away too, but having the flu jab tomorrow so slowly but surely getting things done..

Ellizardo · 15/10/2014 13:59

Oh and Twitwhoo, Gap maternity (only online) does some good basics..

Jannywannywoohoo · 15/10/2014 14:16

I think H&M have some good maternity stuff in, I haven't tried any of it on yet though

kittenmamma · 15/10/2014 14:17

Try asos guys, I think they have a sale on just now too.
And new look for those who it's available to.

NotAQueef · 15/10/2014 14:19

re Maternity clothes - I just got a few bits from Asos (after a debacle with cancelled orders and discounts)

this is really nice on – not jersey, but a total faff to get on (at least for me)

Also got one almost exactly like this but it doubles as a nursing top so top part lifts up

might get this as I really like the colour

M33r have posted a pic but it's not the great quality - was offered one at the end as an afterthought and she didn't spend more than 2 seconds changing the image. At least we didn't have to pay!

I was mostly shocked that baby was small at the scan due to the fact that I look around 6months not 5! I can sort of still 'hide it' not that I'm trying to but it's definitely out even my flabby bit at bottom of stomach part is looking pregnant and my belly button is looking different so I wonder if it will pop out this time. It didn't last time as it's like a cave

Gudgyx · 15/10/2014 16:47

My belly button has gone a strange shape...seems to have gone squint, pulling to the left as if its being stretched, which I suppose it is.

m33r · 15/10/2014 17:57

nota your picture is lovely! Baby has a lovely button nose!

PickledPorcupine · 15/10/2014 18:57

I'm not a fan of most of their clothes but the trousers in mothercare are so comfortable and not frumpy. Love my jeans and work trousers. Want more but can't justify is as I already have 4 pairs.

Scan pic is so cute, can't wait for mine!

Oh and I'm huge, but I popped at about 8 weeks so should be really!

M27J5M · 15/10/2014 19:25

New look and Dorothy Perkins have nice maternity stuff, seen asda had a few nice everyday tops too! I like h&m stuff too but always try it on, seems to be neat made, bought leggings last week and my god I had a fight getting them on lol

ChristinaYang · 15/10/2014 19:48

I got skinny jeans and trousers in H&M that are really comfy! I'm normally a size 12 and had to go 16 in their trousers though, think it's a combo of their small sizes/me eating like a horse Hmm

Had my 16 week appointment yesterday and got to hear the heartbeat!! Was lovely, feeling little taps pretty regularly now too, I also look 6 months pregnant, not 4! Shock

M27J5M sent you an email about joining the Facebook group, at least I think I did Smile

Guntons · 15/10/2014 22:22

I second new look & H&M for maternity, loads more on their websites than in my local stores though.
Had my consultant appointment at hospital today which was a bit of a waste of time tbh! I'd already decided on elective c-section due to traumatic labour not progressing & other complications when having my son, resulting in emergency section. Today I was at the hospital 90 mins & saw the consultant for 2 mins, the conversation we had could have easily been done over the phone.
Anyway, I'm all booked in for 16th March Smile that's gonna come around all too quick when I think of how much decorating & sorting out we need to do before then Confused.
Still 3 weeks til 20wk scan, definitely gonna try & find out gender. Not feeling much movement here either, still suffering badly with headaches. Got my work induction tomorrow so should find out more about the procedure for maternity leave etc. and then be able to actually tell my department (if they havnt guessed already!)

Surfsup1 · 15/10/2014 22:43

I found that the changes in my core muscles puts stress on my neck and gives me horrible headaches. An osteo and a really good maternity massage makes a huge difference for me.

Thanks for the clothes tips! I'll have a bit of an online shop this afternoon!

Rainbow555 · 16/10/2014 07:07

Yeah my neck has been sore giving me headaches too. Osteopath been helping with mine too.
Today I have mainly had belly ache. Dr google tells ,e it is probably round ligament pain. I often get odd twinges but today it has been pretty much all day uncomfortable. Need to prepare for some lecture tomorrow and then I am going to out my feet up and rest. Perhaps baby is doing some growing!

Pisghetti · 16/10/2014 08:52

I had dreadful headaches in the early days. I mentioned to DP that I haven't had one for a little while and he replied that yes he had noticed I'd stopped moaning about them Hmm

18+3 today and I 'popped' a couple of weeks ago! I'm only 2-3lbs up from conception weight but I feel the size of a house. I thought I felt some early movements a couple of weeks ago but they've been pretty indistinct and infrequent since then. I'm wondering if I have an anterior placenta (not mentioned at 12 week scan) as I'd expect to be feeling something more often by now.

I got a couple of items from purpless.co.uk - reasonably priced (but you have to pay p&p on top) and delivered pretty quickly. I got a list of discount codes with the order so I can pop those on later if anyone is interested?

DurhamRed · 16/10/2014 10:09

Hi Pisghetti I also recommend purpless too. I have bought a few items from them via Amazon, the tops are very comfy.

Rainbow I've also been getting uncomfortable pains in tummy, almost like stretching pains but with a few twinges here and there (especially on movement). Doctor told me these pains were normal as baby is now growing and stretching the uterus.

smokeandglitter · 16/10/2014 10:13

Junk, glad you're feeling a bit better. I think you should ask your colleagues to stop telling you what's going on at work. You need to put work to the back of your mind right now and give yourself time to feel better.

Whohas, My thoughts and love are with you and Eve. So very sad.

Not sure if I've been added to Facebook or not? How do I tell?

M27J5M · 16/10/2014 12:04

You'll get an email with invite smoke, you just click link on it to accept/decline invite! If it's not in your email inbox then try your junk folder

theonewiththenoisychild · 16/10/2014 12:14

hi ladies. had my 16 week antenatal today. when i booked the appointment they told me 10:30am but i was just arriving at the surgery when midwife phoned to say i was late Shock she had on the computer 10:10am and in the book 10:15am bloomin receptionist Hmm
anyway we got to hear the heartbeat today Grin she said it was very clear for 16 weeks

m33r · 16/10/2014 12:57

hi pigs I thought I could feel quite a lot of movement last week - 3 times a day for two consecutive days - but it seems to have gone down a bit to maybe once a day. Its hard though as I have no idea if it is actually movement (sure it is). I am also however, getting stretchy and am reassured that I'm not the only one.

I have now gained 5-6lbs and think I have a decent bump which I'm very proud of but since I'm wearing smocks to work I can't see all day which I don't like. I look forward to getting home and putting something bump hugging on.

Hmmmm... having stretchy pains as I type. Can we have a poll to reassure me that everyone is having these? Hmm

m33r · 16/10/2014 12:59

Btw, I have the dentist today. Google says that's ok if I don't go xray crazy. Anyone read otherwise? APpointment at 1610 so any views before then VERY welcome!

Congrats on HB theone it's lovely!

Miffy79 · 16/10/2014 13:23

m33r definitely stretchy pains here too! No actual movement as yet tho..

Gudgyx · 16/10/2014 13:31

Had bad stretchy pain over the weekend, its eased off now though.

I also felt baby girl move for the first time today :) was in an equality and diversity training session, and it stopped me in my tracks. Was so surreal and amazing! Kept my hand on my bump since but only felt it once more from the inside!

theonewiththenoisychild · 16/10/2014 13:41

m33r dont let them tilt you back so your hea i lower than your feet. my dentist did this as he could get a better angle that way but i passed out in the chair

Primaryteach87 · 16/10/2014 18:05

Hello all! New here. Due 1st March :-) Just found out we're having a boy. Was a big shock (funny how mental images develop) but delighted now.
