Actually weird you should say that m33r, but I had a dream last night that it had come! I shot through my pregnancy and gave birth to a very cute baby boy. The weird thing in the dream was that I posted a picture of him on facebook to announce his birth and no one commented/like - odd because a main way I keep in contact with some members of family/friends - which upset me, though I wouldn't mind at all in real life! I woke up to check the cot and got a shock when it wasn't there! Grin

PickledPorcupine · 29/09/2014 19:09

m33r I was worried too as I've not put on one bit but have a big bump and a lot of people have commented how big I am for how far along I am. My diet has stayed basically the same (was v.healthy anyway) and I've done the same amount of exercise every day. I think the weight gain gods will get their own back soon!

Morning everyone :) just checking in, 18 weeks today starting to feel a few flutterings :)

DP starts his new job tmrw, poor thing has a bitch of a commute until we move so enjoying the last day of relative sanity for a while!

So sorry to hear that you're still poorly durham, an Nct friend of mine suffered so badly with her first pregnancy, hospitalised several times, but her 2nd pregnancy has been fine so far (20 odd weeks). I don't know whether that's any comfort or not!

Hope everyone else is doing ok xx

Butterpuff · 30/09/2014 10:12

Morning all, I've been away over the weekend so had lots to catch up on. I'm loving all the name chat. We haven't even thought about starting to talk names yet. I think we are avoiding all non-essential baby stuff until we are moved.

I'm enjoying seeing a proper bump now, make it all real and exciting. Only 6 days left until my 20 week scan!!

Fingers crossed for MS to leave all of you still suffering. I'm pretty much free of it, but didn't enjoy menu selections in Paris so many fun things I wanted to eat that are on the no go list.

Gudgyx · 30/09/2014 12:10

smokeandglitter - I am experiencing the same symptoms as you, the cold symptoms, blocked nose, constant sneezing, sinus headache etc had it since the very beginning and am now 17w 3d.

Also, for anyone not on the fb page, I have a wee update! Last weekend at exactly 16w we went for a gender scan and got told we were having a boy, but to come back the week after for confirmation as they werent as sure as they normally are. They told us 80% sure. So we thought 80% was high and surely this wasnt wrong. Cue us going out and buying a few wee blue things and picking 3 boy names.

But yup, it was wrong! Went back on Saturday there and we are now having a baby girl! 99% this time, said they couldnt be more sure, and she is defo a girl!!!

My OH is in shock haha! I think I was kidding myself on I wanted a boy, because I am overjoyed at the thought of having a girl!!

Back to the drawing board on names now, although we like Leana or Iona.

whohasnickedmyvodka · 30/09/2014 13:28

Just an update I'm having a little girl called eve still not sure if she has any heart or bowel problems it's just how much of a fighter she is :) :) :) another scan in two weeks to keep an eye on her xxx

coastergirl · 30/09/2014 13:56

Ah congratulations whohas, a little girl! x

m33r · 30/09/2014 15:17

Congrats ehohas and gudgy! Think I may have been traumatised though gudgy ! Smile

pinkandstripey · 30/09/2014 15:22

Awwwww, whohas a little girl!! And Eve is a lovely name :)

Apologies if I've missed it, but were her issues (so sorry if that's the wrong word :() picked up by the nuchal tests?

whohasnickedmyvodka · 30/09/2014 15:29

Eve has downs syndrome pink we are just waiting to see if she has any heart or bowel problems I'm going to be having lots of scans :) :) :) :) xx

coastergirl · 30/09/2014 16:21

whohas I have to say that when March comes around, yours is the baby I absolutely cannot wait to see! I'm totally biased though. I work with children with special needs, and I completely adore every single one of them! Eve is such a cute name and she's a very lucky little girl to have such a positive mummy!

whohasnickedmyvodka · 30/09/2014 16:27

Thank you coster we can't wait either neither had any ideas about names until we came out of the scan this morning first name I said we both agreed with and I got a huge kick of approval as well :) :) :) x

persepolis123 · 30/09/2014 17:58

whohas congrats on your little girl. Eve is a lovely name too Smile

gudgy why would they say 80% when they are not sure? Luckily you had the second scan and didn't go to 40 weeks thinking it was a boy!

I had an appointment with the midwife today. Got to hear the heartbeat when baby finally kept still and stopped moving around. I have low blood pressure so the midwife just advised not to rush around too much and to take my time getting up if I have been sitting or laying down. She didn't seem too concerned.

Excited for my gender scan tomorrow! Smile

smokeandglitter · 30/09/2014 18:13

Gudgyx - worry that they might be wrong is part of the reason I don't want to find out the sex. What a crazy feeling that must have been for you! side note: Have you found anything has helped the coldy symptoms? I rubbed ginger and juniper oil over my chest yesterday which helped a bit actually.

Congrats, whohasnicked! Eve is a lovely name and yay for the kick of approval! Grin

tannyLoo · 30/09/2014 19:04

I'm only an occasional poster, mostly I just lurk, but it's lovely to read all the positive news.

I'm 18 weeks today and have my 20 week scan next Thursday. We won't be finding out the sex, as I am still in shock to have made it this far.

Having some big movements when the baby turns right over, which feels like a cross between going over a hump backed bridge and having palpitations!

Also, and I'm hoping I'm not alone, but piles are here in full force. Dreading going to the loo at the most, lol!

Lifeisabeach · 30/09/2014 20:07

Congratulations on your gorgeous little Eve, whohasnicked. I hope the scans don't show up any issues.

I know someone who was told at a gender scan she was having a girl, bought everything pink...well, you can guess the rest! I'm still tempted to find out but OH doesn't want to so I think we'll be having a surprise.

My usual 2nd trimester symptom of headaches have arrived full force. I seem to wake up with one almost every day. Also still sooo tired and falling asleep on the sofa most nights. I want to be blooming!

PickledPorcupine · 30/09/2014 21:09

Life I've got them too Angry

Pinksun12 · 01/10/2014 05:10

life and pickled I join you in the headache club! Had them in previous pregnancies and was wondering when they were going to turn up, and yesterday I thought my head was going to explode. (15+3 today) With me it's mostly dehydration, I have to literally drink buckets of water because I dehydrate so much more in pregnancy

Congratulations whohas! Loving the name!

Gudgyx · 01/10/2014 10:36

They said it was because we got the first gender scan at bang on 16 weeks, and her bits were still swollen out. So they said 80% boy, come back next week for confirmation. When we got back the swelling had gone and it was clearly a girl!

We're still not buying loads of pink though, waiting until 20w scan to make defo sure. Really struggling with girl names though!

I havent found anything to help smokeandglitter :( I'm just struggling along, its a lot worse in the morning, or if I'm having a lazy day and lying about in bed. When I get up and go to work etc it calms down a lot.

Rainbow555 · 01/10/2014 10:50

Loving the name talk!
Also suffering headaches, but ms has eased with the jet lag- currently visiting thefamily in the UK. Still really tired and finding it hard to eat tho.
On another note, what does the start of stretch Mark look like??? Confused

Butterpuff · 01/10/2014 11:45

Oh no Rainbow not stretch mark questions?!

I have loads on my boobs from a growth spurt as a teenager. One day they were not there the next day it looked like I had been scratched. Little red lines like orange segments. I remember a couple of girls at swimming asked if who had scratched my boobs? Hmm

I imagine it will be the same on my belly once Bump decides on a growth spurt.
