I'm just wondering if anyone has used the vouchers from the Emma's Diary pack, as they seem too good to be true! The ones for car seat canopy, baby leggings, nursing pillow, udder covers etc. (all Mothers Lounge products) They are all for free products rather than just money off. Does anyone know how much the p&p is? I can see its a US company but the prices are in £. The products look lovely, so just curious if it's as good as it seems! TIA x Smile

smokeandglitter · 27/09/2014 11:22

What's Emma's diary? I've only got the bounty pack from asda/boots?

guntons just to say I was 4 yo apart from my sister growing up. It was great as I loved to get involved with bottles etc and was just old enough to do that and understand what was going on, but at the same time when she got a bit older there was lots of imaginative games together too! Grin

fishfingerSarnies · 27/09/2014 11:50

Ah smoke, I love the name Sebastian too, though it's very popular now so wouldn't use it either. I grew up with three brothers called Sebastian, Domanic and Theo and have always loved them but husband says no, and also I think I've liked them so long I'm not sure if I really do anymore or if it's just habit, does that make sense?

My dh is very welsh and I think only a welsh name will do, he says he's open to English or other names but I've yet to find one he will. He did let me put Edward on the list but I'm worried it too well used (I wanted Edmond) nick name Ted or Teddy again think they are a bit to well used, well Teddy any way.
I liked Arthur last time round but dh insisted on saying it in a funny welsh way that made me sound like a dick when I tried. Names is so hard and so stressful but great fun and really exciting at the same time.

I've always wanted a dd called Elizabeth but dh said no.

Feeling very tired and emotional today. Missing my dh, he won't be home for another 2 months. and dd is a miserable snotty wreck today. I snuck off to the kitchen to eat Nutella out of the jar with a spoon to cheer myself up. Blush

smokeandglitter heres the link -

www.emmasdiary.co.uk/

You can register & download a pack voucher & collect from boots or argos. Lots of freebies in the pack like bounty.

Thanks for the comment, my DS is getting quite into the idea now, at first he said he def didn't want a brother or a sister as he likes it being just hun, mummy & daddy!! Lol

smokeandglitter · 27/09/2014 12:53

I see what you mean, Fishfinger. I find it really hard to find boys names I like and when I was younger it was such an unusual name. I like Theo too, but I know so many now! Arthur is my DH's father's name, so quite like it but can't use it. Have you thought about Edwin perhaps if DH not keen on Edmund? I really like it as a boys name though won't be using it. I've only known one Edwin and that was when I was in Primary School - he was the cutest thing. My mum wanted to name me Elizabeth, but my dad hated the nn 'Liz' and because they couldn't guarentee I wouldn't use it/be given it by friends it got vetoed. Hope the Nutella worked! Grin

smokeandglitter · 27/09/2014 13:02

Sorry X post, Gunton! Bless him! My sister was adopted at 4 months old, I found out I was getting a sibling the day we met her for the first time and a week before she came home so it was quite a shock for me, though after the initial shock I was very excited/happy so I hope you can bring him round to the idea more and more with more time! My parents concentrated a lot on all the fun things we could do together and answered all my very annoying questions patiently, teehee. Thanks for the link - checking it out now!

kittenmamma · 27/09/2014 13:09

I've seen a few people mention Elizabeth, which is kind of a name I've totally set my heart on for all the nicknames but I mentioned it to mum and she said I can't use all of them. I see what she means because some of them aren't supposed to come from Elizabeth but I still think they work.
I like Lizzie and Beth, your standard. But I also really like Eliza and Izzy.
Eliza I think is acceptable because it's the first part, Izzy is supposed to come from Isobel but it's just Lizzie without the L! What do you all think :S

smokeandglitter · 27/09/2014 13:15

I don't know personally but do know of a couple of Elizabeths nn Izzy. If you like it then go for it! I would pick your favourite nn to use though because it might get confusing otherwise. Eliza, Lizzie and Beth are definitely commonly agreed upon nns for Elizabeth.

fishfingerSarnies · 27/09/2014 13:57

The choice of nn is why I love the name Elizabeth my fave nn is Betsy or Betty, love Eliza too its my dd middle name. My middle name it's Elizabeth-anne after my nanny always wanted it to be my first name. There also Libby as nn for Elizabeth which I also like but have a close friend called it so can't use it.

fishfingerSarnies · 27/09/2014 13:59

Nanny as in grandmother not a nanny who looks after your kids!

kittenmamma · 27/09/2014 14:45

Haha fishfinger 'I was named after my nanny, she looked after while my parents were at work'
I love Izzy so much, but I think we would decide of Elizabeth and choose whatever she looked like. If it was a girl. If it's a boy we are screwed.

Twittwooo · 27/09/2014 15:06

Hi everyone, just catching up as I haven't been on for a while. Hope everyone is well. I don't want to speak too soon but I have been feeling considerably better over the last couple of days - not 100%, but a big improvement. Ooh, names. I'm finding it hard this time around. Our little girl is Edie (Edith) so I don't think I want a name ending with the 'ee' sound as it might be slightly twee. We also love Sebastian! But there are three reasons why we probably won't go for it - it's soaring popularity, our surname has three syllables so it's a bit of a tongue twister (although I do like Seb) and, finally, we're worried it's a bit posh for us! The last one is somewhat silly, I know. Anyway, girls names are just as tricky at the moment - I'm just hoping we come up with something in the next few months!

lotsoftoast · 27/09/2014 16:11

We're having a baby girl!!!

theonewiththenoisychild · 27/09/2014 17:22

lovely toast Smile

oh names are tricky in our house me and oh dont agree on names i like jayden, jacob, joseph, marcus, alfie and ethan for boys names. oh likes micheal and reece. the only one we both like is ethan but even tho i like it its not our boy name i dont think. we both like olivia for a girl Grin

smokeandglitter · 27/09/2014 18:53

Twittwoo, glad you seem to be feeling a bit better!

Congratulations, toast! How exciting! Grin

Olivia is lovely, theone, as is Ethan. I did want an 'Olive' after my Gran but Olivia is so high up on names ranking now that I've moved away from that too!

theonewiththenoisychild · 27/09/2014 20:22

i know what you mean smoke we had that oriblem with ds he is a joshua and there were 3 other joshuas in his nursery Grin but in the area i live in i cant see olivia being quite so popular

theonewiththenoisychild · 27/09/2014 20:22

problem i meant Blush

m33r · 27/09/2014 20:36

guntons glad your DS is coming round! When my second nephew was born my DH cleverly suggested that Sis in law buy him a dolly so he could look after a baby with mummy ifyswim? Thought that was a good idea. RE names, we're George for a boy after DH's late father (don't even start me on Kate Middleton!!!! If she had a girl and picks my name, I will not be impressed! Not remotely!) Shock

m33r · 27/09/2014 20:37

Sorry, I should say, I don't know if buying the doll works as my brother was having none of it - dolls and boys not his thing Hmm

persepolis123 · 27/09/2014 20:50

congrats toast. That's lovely news.

theone I really like Olivia for a girl but DP doesn't. We have kind of given up on names until we find out if it's a girl or boy, luckily not long to wait.

m33r · 27/09/2014 20:51

Sorry,forgot to say congrats toast

persepolis123 · 27/09/2014 20:53

m33r I think it's sad when people think like that. They are just children playing with toys. DS spent all of yesterday morning at nursery playing with the buggies and dolls.

m33r · 27/09/2014 21:40

Me too perse. My DH has a childhood toy - doll - and he can't wait for whatever we have to play with it!! My brother is otherwise amazing!!! Wink

ZylaB · 28/09/2014 07:45

Oooh names!! We're going to go with Hannah Emily I think :)

ZylaB · 28/09/2014 07:45
