Lots of luck Panda, really hope your scan goes well

Surfsup1 · 23/09/2014 12:35

Panda - some/most pregnancy supplements make you horribly constipated and piles are v common in pregnancy anyway. I found that switching to a whole-food based supplement rather than a synthetic vitamin supplement made all the difference for me. Your body just absorbs the nutrients so much better so doesn't need to slow your digestion to the same extent (or so I was told). Worked for me anyway!

Gudgyx · 23/09/2014 12:46

The iron in my pregnancy vitamins is giving me black hard poo! Because of my crohns this is a massive change for me haha. Its maybe making your poo hard and its giving you little fissures which are bleeding? I wouldnt be too concerned about it, but contact your mw if you are :)

Thanks for all the lovely opinions on our name choices! Thats interesting to know about Luca Scott in one tree hill, luckily enough neither of us watch that!

Still plenty of time to decide though.

Also, I started bulk buying mamia nappies last night haha I WILL be prepared

M27J5M · 23/09/2014 13:05

I loved the name Lucas when preg with DS all cos of one tree hill Smile

This time I'm loving Hayden and Ella for a girl and Carter for a boy! Can't say I've discussed these with the oh tho lol

persepolis123 · 23/09/2014 13:46

Good luck panda. Hope it goes well.

jelbuckley · 23/09/2014 14:40

Just discovered this thread - I had my 12 week scan on Saturday and all is looking well. New due date of the 29th of March.

This is my first, and I was completely blown away by seeing my baby move (well, squirm really).

2nd scan is on the 17th of November which seems so far away!

MyPandaisasecretmonster · 23/09/2014 14:53

Scan went really well , I'll add a pic later Smile Smile

The stubborn little thing decided to curl up in a ball on his front & went to sleep so wouldn't move lol

New EDD is 29th March which is ages away Envy
13+3 today

Lifeisabeach · 23/09/2014 15:01

Welcome jelbuckley

Brilliant news Panda. Were they able to do the nuchal measurements? So pleased all is well Smile

MyPandaisasecretmonster · 23/09/2014 15:08

Yes it was 1.25 I think , It was low anyway Blush

Butterpuff · 23/09/2014 15:19

Brilliant news Panda even if 29th March does seem ages away! I bet it goes quick. My friend was saying yesterday that the first bit with the dire MS dragged, the middle bit few and the last month was the slowest few weeks of her life!

ZebraZeebra · 23/09/2014 15:41

Hi hi! I'm totally caught up on the fb threads but have been so far behind on this thread. Gah.

So many of you suffering MS, it's just not bloody fair. 16+4 here and still feel occasionally sick but now mostly exhausted, utterly exhausted. Those of you with toddlers, how are you coping? My basic plan is to go to a group EVERY SINGLE morning, then an hour in the park, then home for Cbeebies. But I have awful pregnancy insomnia which is a bitch.

So impressed with all the travelling! There is nothing on earth that could make me travel now.

Brilliant news on all the scans - we're getting there!

lotsoftoast · 23/09/2014 15:57

Welcome to the new faces that have popped up!

Zebra - that's what we do - group, nap, lunch, play, cbeebies, mummy dies on the sofa. I still feel guilty!

Afternoon all. So good to hear evert one is having great scans. "Panda* my baby decided to take after his a dad and curl up and sleep on tummy, had to wriggle and go for a walk to wake them up Smile

Still suffering badly from hg at 14+5 weeks, it's a total nightmare! Have been cheering myself up with some online shopping for baby things, so far 2 baby sleeping bags (slumbersacs), 3 blankets, baby sleep box and accessories, 1 supercute towel and for me 2 maternity tops. My mum has rang to tell me that she has started to buy things like nappies, baby wipes, baby gro's etc so that we don't have to worry about the little things. That will be so helpful as I know it'll be the little things I'll forget about.

kittenmamma · 23/09/2014 16:23

I seriously don't know how some of you are coping with kids.
I've been signed off work now and am on addifferent type of anti sickness pills. Though turned into a juice fountain this afternoon while trying to put shopping away. DH laughed at the concept :(
I've slept all night, morning and afternoon, and still feel like utter crap, and can't find anything I want to eat despite having ordered some of everything from Tesco.
So, today sucks!
Especially since I was supposed to go out with DH tonight and I so want to go to enjoy some time with him but I just can't :( boo.

coastergirl · 23/09/2014 16:50

So sorry that some of you are still suffering!

Panda I'm glad your scan went well and that it was in time to do the nuchal measurement after all! That's great news.

I'm still signed off due to anxiety, but think we are getting there with the medication dosage and certainly feeling more able, if not exactly cheerful. Last night we discovered our two kittens have fleas, joy! So today I have been busy getting and applying flea treatment, and cleaning the house from top to bottom. I wouldn't have been able to motivate myself to do that a few weeks ago. Would have just wallowed and then felt even worse about it, so it seems things are improving.

NotAQueef · 23/09/2014 16:53

Sorry so many of you are still feeling so bad. I’m 17+3 today and am actually starting to feel a bit more human. Still have the gag reflex of a weaning baby, but overall exhaustion and general sickiness has definitely calmed down thank goodness. Lost around 8lbs in total which is good as I need to lose weight anyway.

Nice to see more new faces and lots more lovely scan pics ?

Those who are struggling to find anything to eat – when I was in the worst of it (and actually still most days) I would eat a grapefruit – peeled like an orange and just sucked its juicy loveliness. The sharp citrus (pink ones are my fave) really took away the bad hormone taste, and feeling of nausea for a good 30 mins each time. If you haven’t tried it might be worth a go. Obviously not suggesting this to any hg sufferers but it might help someone

Had a midwife appointment on Friday which was fine, they tried to listen for heartbeat and eventually found it (though not for long enough to get a stable bpm count). I mostly heard the swoosh swoosh of my placenta (which is at the front) as the baby kept moving from the Doppler.

Feeling more and more movement each day – though obviously still infrequently and very gentle, but it’s reassuring every so often to feel a little flicker. Lots of little wriggles as I type which is lovely.

Oh I got told I was glowing yesterday which was lovely –I didn’t like to mention the fact I was wearing special glowy moisturiser—but clearly untrue

NotAQueef · 23/09/2014 16:55

Oh and I'm pretty sure the only reason I coped with a 3 almost 4 year old over the last 11 weeks of feeling ill were because he goes to day nursery all week while I work so looking after and being a responsible functioning adult is limited to a couple of hours per day and weekends when I thankfully have DP around.

ZebraZeebra · 23/09/2014 16:59

All hail the Early Years Entitlement next year!

I had to get MIL to come for a week around 7 weeks but the rest of the time, I've just had no choice. DH is self employed, can't call in sick or take time off to help...TV watching has gone up 1000%.

Oh ironies of ironies, DS sleeps 13 hours a night. I'm sleeping about 4.

Lovely to feel movement notaqueef - I felt some early on but nothing for a while. But bump continues to grow so not too concerned.

DurhamRed · 23/09/2014 17:08

Kitten I truly feel for you.. What anti sickness tablets are you taking now? How long have you been signed off?

I can barely get out of bed without vomiting and I am just so exhausted all the time. I am living off toast at the moment (when I can keep it down, had vomit session this afternoon was awful) and am trying to keep my fluiid intake up (v. Difficult) just to try and stay out of hospital.

ZebraZeebra · 23/09/2014 17:16

Durham poor love :(

kittenmamma · 23/09/2014 17:20

I'm on eh...metoclopramide. I've not really had a chance to see if it's working yet, but feeling absolutely awful since last night. Especially this afternoon as I've got a hint of a headache from throwing up all that diluting juice. I'm kind of just moving from couch to bed and back whimpering.

DurhamRed · 23/09/2014 18:21

I hope the tablets work for you soon Kitten keep sipping fluids (whatever you can tolerate) to reduce dehydration if you can (hospital is not the nicest place to be if you can avoid it). If you get worse go back to your doctors and make sure they test your urine for keytones.

Rainbow555 · 23/09/2014 20:12

Thanks for the suggestions, will text midwife to see what she thinks but probably just some diet changes would help, it's just hard to eat fruit and veg right now!

Sorry to those still signed off work and those that are feeling better give me hope! This morning was a disaster again at just over 15 weeks, I would like to be feeling better but hey sounds like I am not the only one! Yay for finding the glow queef even if it was helped by moisturiser!

littlemissy12345 · 23/09/2014 20:17

Sorry for everyone still suffering, I have felt ok for the last week, well apart from a stonking cold.
I am however in a lot of pain in my lady parts - it feels like I'm bruised down there. The doc tried to fob me off saying it was piles but it's definitely further forward than there. Agony! Any ideas?

MyPandaisasecretmonster · 24/09/2014 00:43

I constantly feel like I have trapped wind in my stomach & sometimes it's painful Confused

Anybody got any suggestions as to how I can remedy this ? Thanks.
