Hurray for more babies :) congratulations everyone! Thanks

Good luck to team today, and fingers crossed for all my fellow overdue people Wink I have my second sweep today, let's hope they can actually do one this time Hmm

polkadotdelight · 16/09/2014 06:49

Congratulations missbrightside. Shes beautiful.

DizzyKipper · 16/09/2014 07:21

Congratulations missbrightside, she looks absolutely gorgeous! Thanks

No more period pains, no labour.

Salene · 16/09/2014 08:53

I'm due on 24th with 1st baby

I'm booked in now on Sunday 21st for induction and I'm crapping it :-(

If hoped for just G&A and water birth as I've a real fear of medical stuff

So wanted no EPIDURALS or intervention

It's all going Pete tong already :-(

I just feel like greeting.

Reason there inducing is I've had a couple of reduced movement episodes so they say it's better to be safe than sorry

Can't say I'm looking forward to this.

If I can't cope pain wise I've told them I'd accept remiphentanal , as I really can deal with the thought of a epidural.

Nazly · 16/09/2014 09:48

Congrats to all the new babies! Missbrightside she's just gorgeous :)
Two days over now and nothing happening. Hoping my sweep on Friday does the trick or I'll be quite gutted ??
Not even getting excited at the odd twinge anymore. Just impatiently waiting it out..........

misog2000 · 16/09/2014 12:03

Just back from the midwife, baby 3/5 engaged now so at least it's moving in the right direction. 9 days till my due date now but really hoping he or she doesn't keep me waiting that long as I've had enough now. Feeling very sorry for those of you who are already overdue, congratulations on all the new babies

lilone1234 · 16/09/2014 12:35

Just a quick note to say that my baby girl Molly arrived at 1:46am on 15 September! I'm exhausted but she is lovely.

CumbrianExile · 16/09/2014 13:07

Congrats Lil Thanks

polkadotdelight · 16/09/2014 17:00

Awww congratulations lilone.

Midwife attempted a sweep today, she couldnt quite reach but there was a show afterwards so Im quietly hoping.

cookielove · 16/09/2014 17:18

Ahhh congratulations to every new mummy! :)

holls2000 · 16/09/2014 18:32

Congratulations lilone - gorgeous name.

You know how we were saying about irritating Dh's yesterday? Mine has just got home, woken me up, asked if I had any housework to do and what have I done all day. I start crying (mainly cos fed up and nervous) he huffs and puffs and goes to the gym. No hug because he is running late and wants to be back for the football. When i suggested it might be nice for him to just be kind his response was "oh right" and off he went. I wasn't that upset really to start off with and don't quite know where the tears came from. Suspect v bored and was looking forward to him coming home and then he just went straight off to the gym. Mind you didn't help him saying he was looking forward to Thursday and fri as I would be in the hospital and he would have some him time. He was joking but sadly my sense of humour has taken a bit of a holiday. So now I am upset. And his team are at home tonight - he says he hasn't gone cos I asked him not to. But actually it was more that it would take him 2.5 hours to get there from work - traffic permitting. Anyway they will either lose tonight in which case he will be cross, or they will win in which case he will be cross because he missed it. Aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Sorry for the rant, but nowhere else to offload to.

I did try and say that if I couldn't tell him how nervous I was, who could I tell, and he just ignored me. It's not the baby I am nervous about, it's the c section that is scaring me. And because he is an emotional black hole, he won't talk, so I imagine he is pretty nervous too but won't say anything. God it's stressful.......

Cindy5389 · 16/09/2014 20:13

Hi everyone!

I have finally been able to get on to mumsnet to announce the safe arrival of my baby boy Ethan born on Sunday 14th at 14.21

Was a quick labour, 6cm by the time I got to hospital and I had him within 3 hours after arriving at hospital. Only had gas and air and the tens machine.

I was only discharged from hospital today after having trouble breastfeeding. Baby was really suffering and I was within minutes of asking for top ups for my baby's sake!) Finally made a breakthrough early hours of this morning after the midwives allowed me to start using the hospitals electric pump. I made my mum go and buy the same one (medela swing) it's £130 (boots currently have a 15% off if order online but I couldn't take advantage of this) I am using the electric pump now to stimulate milk and letting him try on the boob as well, so I know how much he is definately getting.

Thank you to everyone who gave me advice when my waters broke Sat night. Despite the hospital saying don't bother coming in coz it's too early being ur first, I demanded I'm coming in, good job I did!! - please everyone go to hospital when u feel u want to, the worst they can do is examine you and send u home.

Will go back and read all your posts soon.

Congratulations in advance of all the new mummies out there!

CoolCat2014 · 16/09/2014 20:30

Hi all, sorry I forgot to say - baby girl, called Eleanor :) she's so beautiful!

Congrats lilone - our babies share a birthday!

Think being driven over potholes and DH driving very stop start with rapid acceleration got my labour going (painful mind), combined with two sweeps, sex, and long walks. Just in case anyone is getting as desperate as I was, it might help! I was 13 days overdue, so sympathise with those waiting!

Topsyloulou · 16/09/2014 20:49

Congratulations lilone and Cindy. Lovely to hear of all these babies arriving. Hope some of the overdue babies are starting to get the message & put in an appearance soon. Mine certainly doesn't seem to be!

HippyJess · 16/09/2014 21:31

Sweep today was successful and I've been having a lot of cramps and occasional sporadic contraction-like things since. Here's hoping I wake up in labour!

marie1w · 16/09/2014 21:53

Finally have five minutes to update... Erin was born at 10.06 pm Monday after contractions started 11pm Sunday evening. No homebirth as waters had gone Sunday morning and when I called hospital had to go in and be admitted to receive antibiotics. Birth centre full so ended up on labour ward. After very slow progress and 3 sweeps I ended up being over stimulated and historical with the pain. Decided to induce me as only 2cm dilated but 30 minutes later made it to 5cm and out came the magical gas and air. Waters broke atd 4pm and fully dilated by 8pm. Two hideous hours pushing and then there she was. Still in hospital as I had a small bleed after and now have low iron and need fluid. Hoping to be home tomorrow. Congratulations to all those with new arrivals and good luck to those still waiting things out xxx

September 2014 - Where are all the girls?!
DizzyKipper · 17/09/2014 08:13

Morning all,

Well me and DH have started 'The Talk' about what to do if and when we go over 42 weeks. I'm just trying to find out as much as possible right now so we make the best decision. Should be having my 2nd sweep tomorrow, and possibly a 3rd on Sat, so hopefully we'll avoid the decision completely!
Also DH had a falling out with his sister yesterday, he snapped about MIL people constantly contacting us and she sent him a shitty response - I think something along the lines of don't be surprised when people don't bother with us amng other things (which he won't tell me). 'Cause that's always lovely to hear right when you're expecting a new baby.

Salene I completely empathise, I'm quite scared at the thought of formal inductions as well.

Glad things are moving in the right direction misog, I think 3/5 was about as engaged as DD was when I actually went into labour.

Sorry to hear about the stress holls, would be nice if they could just suck it up sometimes and come through for us.

Any progress HippyJess?

Congratulations lilone, Cindy, and marie. May the new baby stint continue!

HippyJess · 17/09/2014 08:32

Aww marie what a cutie :)

Dizzy we've had the same talk as I now officially have an induction booked for next Wednesday Shock really hoping it won't get that far! Though after much stressing about it I really want a vaginal delivery if possible so I guess it's the best option for me. More cramps etc since waking up properly but I got some reprieve in the night, unlike poor DH who was constantly on edge Grin

holls2000 · 17/09/2014 09:46

Thanks Dizzy, men! Just a bit of thought might be nice :-) it's obvious that he is nervous too, which I would expect, but Talk To Me about it, stupid man!!!!

Ignore SIL.. ...easier said than done, I know. Good luck with sweep tomorrow.

Marie, Erin is gorgeous. Congratulations.

Am still in bed. Have to go to supermarket and want to find a new grandparents present for my in laws for when they visit the baby tomorrow. Totally can't believe it will be here tomorrow. fingers crossed for it all being ok :-)

TheFroglet · 17/09/2014 11:21

Salene, I had induction with my 1st, it was really lovely experience, waterbirth tiny bit of G and A at the end, I would even go as far as saying it was enjoyable!?!! So dont fret! But if you do need other things or help, you will not care at all once you are 'in the moment' i promise!

LH1981 · 17/09/2014 16:25

Been contracting since early evening yesterday. Had show in the night, and midwife just been and done examination and I'm 2cm and she gave me as sweep. Please let this be it!!

Huge congrats to all the new mummies - speedy recoveries to all xxx
