Been having contractions since 5 this morning, they've started getting more tense as the days gone on, but not regular enough yet! Don't think I can survive a whole night in agony though :( good luck LH and anyone else in labour, won't be long and then we will all be holding our babies hopefully!

LH1981 · 17/09/2014 17:51

Always good luck! Can you get a sweep done? It has really sped things up for me, contractions coming thick and fast now! owwww! x

HippyJess · 17/09/2014 19:04

Oooh good luck LH and Always! I'm so jealous Grin

DizzyKipper · 17/09/2014 20:32

Good luck LH and Always, and also I'll be thinkig of you tomorrow holls - hope all goes well (and it's very nice of you to get your ILs a GPs present!)

To try to maintain my sanity I've today been thinking about the things I'm looking forward to when I'll no longer be pregnant. Besides the baby of course I'm very excited to not have PGP anymore and actually be able to start doing things with DD again! It's horrible being cooped up in the house for so long and to be so much more physically limited than I'm used to. I've also decided I'll be treating myself to a tub of B&J ice cream! DH gets a bottle of JD to celebrate the birth so I figure I can at least have some ice cream. Grin

holls2000 · 17/09/2014 22:04

Good luck LH and Always, hope all going well :-)

Thanks Dizzy. Is it wrong that the majority of things I'm looking forward to are food based?!?

AlwaysandForever09 · 17/09/2014 22:07

Thanks everyone I was due to see my midwife tomorrow to attempt a sweep so will have to see what happens over night! Good luck to everyone else :)

slithytove · 17/09/2014 22:51

I had horrific contractions last night 12-7, one every 10 mins, stopping me from sleeping, and they stopped as soon as I had to get up with DS. Started again during both of my naps to the extent they woke me up.

They seem to be starting again now I've got into bed. I get the feeling this is going to be the start of a long latent labour stage :( hope it's not too long though as I'm already exhausted.

Sweep number 2 tomorrow night so hopefully that will tip us over the edge into labour.

slithytove · 17/09/2014 22:53

My midwife is big into lunar cycles and apparently a new moon phase started yesterday, which can bring on labours. Who knows.

Congrats to all the new mummies and good luck to all the ones waiting patiently.
Had my waters just go about ten mins ago all of a sudden as I lay in bed trying to get off to sleep!! Stood up and had to quickly grab a towel to stop ruining the month old bedroom carpet. Dash to the loo to check and a pink tinge to my pants and liner ( sorry if TMI!)
Quick change and back in bed now waiting to see what happens next...........finally at 5 days over. No wonder I'd been painting door frames and skirting yesterday!

zanashar · 18/09/2014 00:53

Slithytove, sounds likes there's something to this moon phase your midwife is on about! ??

slithytove · 18/09/2014 05:21

My waters haven't gone but been contracting painfully every 7-10 mins since 3am, I'm in tears it's so painful (doesn't bode well!) and I've just had blood streaked mucus which is new for me.

Is anyone else scared?

zanashar · 18/09/2014 06:21

Slithytove, I'm pretty scared. Contractions since 1am and they're getting stronger, now five mins apart and I'm struggling even with the Tens machine. Stuck on ante natal ward as birthing suite is busy. Not what id planned. And my waters won't stop , must have passed a litre!! Hope all goes well for you. x

slithytove · 18/09/2014 06:33

I'm in the bath, contractions every ten minutes and they are taking my breath away. Feel like I need a big poo lol.
I don't know when to call my midwife.

slithytove · 18/09/2014 06:33

Not entirely sure this is it yet cos the frequency is still quite far apart etc.

holls2000 · 18/09/2014 06:48

slithy I would call my mw now. Good luck to you and Zanashar. Smile

I have had my breakfast and am now going to have as much water as poss otherwise I know the ninute that I can't have anything I will want it!

slithytove · 18/09/2014 07:04

She is coming over now. I'm so scared, I hope DD is ok.

polkadotdelight · 18/09/2014 07:27

I hope the midwife is with you now slithy and all is ok. Good luck to all you other ladies having contractions.

I am now one day overdue, woke twice with abdominal pain last night but once Id been up for a wee (and ummm a bit of wind) it stopped!

DizzyKipper · 18/09/2014 07:53

Good luck everyone, and thinking of you slithy Thanks

Serotonin · 18/09/2014 07:54

sex last night, loose motions this morning. .. and my DS up all night for no discernable reason. Sods law dictates that labour will start today because I am soooooo exhausted lol Grin

not that I am complaining but I am absolutely terrified Sad

slithytove · 18/09/2014 07:56

Baby is fine, I had the expected crying fit, and it's been confirmed as early labour so not expecting anything to start happening before evening. I'm going to try and get some more rest with my tens machine on.

What an emotional bloody roller coaster.

slithytove · 18/09/2014 07:59

I was told DD died during labour after about 12 hours of contractions you see, and my midwife unwittingly said the exact same phrase just now as was used with DD1. Cue instant tears. This is bringing back a lot of difficult memories.

Inbl00m · 18/09/2014 08:16

Hi everyone

Not up-to-speed with all the posts as our little girl arrived suddenly and quickly at 38+2 on 9/9 weighing 5lbs 13oz. Labour went smoothly but due to retained placenta and pph afterwards things got a little bit more dramatic. Feeling much better now and am totally in love with having a little baby. She is completely gorgeous in every way Smile

Thinking of those of you who are still waiting for babies or in labour. Good luck slithy LH Always and Zanashar!

velvetlilithi · 18/09/2014 09:16

Congrats to new babies!! There's not a lot of us left who's waiting Smile

And girls are fighting and getting closer, 5 more girls needed to balance the score Grin.

I've had a strong period cramps for last 2 days, was even woken up by it couple of times during the night.

We're trying every day something to evict our boy. Clary sage massage+sex, loong walk+clary sage, bouncing on the ball+sex+clary sage. And we got a pineapple yesterday so that's gonna be my snack today.

Having mw apptm today. Hope I get some good news that baby engaged more (2 weeks ago was still 4/5) and I thought maybe I'll try to ask for a sweep just for a try? (don't think she would agree as only 38+5 today)

Do you know if mws are checking if cervix starting dilate automatically at 39wks apptm or only if they you might be close to labour??
