Sorry to hear that coolcat. That's rubbish - you must be so disappointed. Thanks

Good luck today ella!

Now 39+1 and still no sign of baby. Sad Weighed self this morning bloody stupid idea and have gained 2 stone and 9 pounds since pregnancy started! Eek! Hope I can shift the weight post baby.

topmammy · 11/09/2014 09:35

Just wanted to wish you luck today Ella Grin x

topmammy · 11/09/2014 09:38

Good luck today Ella xx

This is my third attempt at posting.. its not working for some reason.

KatharineClover · 11/09/2014 09:44

Good luck Ella!
Ditto DizzyKipper, still preg here too! Despite stop/start contractions being annoying, I think I shall decline a sweep today (40+1) at my midwife appt as I've read they can cause a really long latent phase, plus by my dates baby isn't due til next Monday. Hopefully they will book me in for one next week at 41 weeks. However, I may feel differently once I've seen the MW!
Kitkat, I've put on 3 stone yikes! Going to work on the theory of 9 months on, 9 months off and hope to be back to normal clothes by next summer (I have 3 weddings to go to).
DS has settled back into preschool really well which is such a load off my kind, he's asked me to make a sake so best get cracking!

DizzyKipper · 11/09/2014 10:35

Good luck Ella, hope to hear of your baby news soon Smile

And sorry to bring bad news Salene but I've had period pains off and on for several weeks now, I think it's just one of those things. Welcome to the group btw Smile

Sorry to hear things haven't quite worked out with parents visiting Coolcat, although it might be a nice distraction for you whilst waiting for LO to appear. And expecting you to do 4 hours of travelling with a young baby sounds a bit crazy to me Confused

Kitkat I wouldn't worry too much, I've so far gained 3 1/2 st (and will surely gain more with all this comfort/boredom eating I keep doing!). I also gained 3st with DD. Breastfeeding and keeping up normal activity was all it took to shift most of it, though thinking this time around I may actually start trying to exercise more.

I've heard that too Katharine, though think had my MW offered one on the spot yesterday I'd have been too desperate to decline! Waiting 'til 41 weeks is meant to help improve chances of success though so it's prob best to wait.

I'm getting irrationally angry today about still being pregnant, I know it's not permanent but it really doesn't feel like I'll ever be going into labour!

KatharineClover · 11/09/2014 11:06

Ooh I'm really grumpy too - wonder if that's a sign? I feel like a cornered animal; I just want to be left alone to get on with it, not asked every time I move (or wince with heartburn/ rub my tummy etc) 'is this it?'

DizzyKipper · 11/09/2014 11:13

Ah yes, I'm waiting for MIL's daily text fishing to find out whether I'm in labour or not (and will then have to try my best to not explode at her). Unfortunately I think being grumpy is more a natural consequence of what we have to put up with, though I have found google results of women swearing they get more grumpy/emotional right before childbirth so you can't rule it out.

good luck ella, great news about the feeding, cookie, u worked so hard to achieve that!

well, I thought baby was trying to escape yesterday afternoon and evening. ikea delivered our new bed, dp pulled apart our old one and told me putting the new one together was a 'big job'....which he started at 8pm last night. I was lying on sofa, getting period pains, with a hot water bottle, v worried we would need to go to hospital, but have no bed for my dad and his partner who will babysit dd1. dp has a lot of work on and really wants to get it done before baby comes, so even though I am due tomorrow, I am stopping my clary sage eviction attempts, but what will be will be.
r any of the other non 1st time mummies tandem feeding? dd1 is going made for feeding at the moment. ...I guess there must be colostrum there, so it must be a big creamy dessert fest for her. I'm hoping my nipples will be tough so it will hurt less than it did the 1st time and she will have built up a hefty supply for baby who will hopefully conk out in a full stupor after every feed.

CumbrianExile · 11/09/2014 14:25

Good luck Ella

KatharineClover · 11/09/2014 14:37

I was 15 mins late to see the midwife because there had been an accident and massive police detour which stressed me out so much on the journey - thankfully she still saw me at the end of clinic! Apparently baby is so low down 'he is almost falling out' and if my waters go, 'he's going to be here fast, blow don't push'. Yikes! She also said as soon as I get a full blown contraction jump in the car for hospital. Last labour was fast but not that fast! Poor DH is worried as he works 45-50 mins in the other direction so has made loads of contingency plans for other people to get me to hospital so he can meet me there, I still have to wait for child care though! I'm booked for a stretch & sweep next Thursday but she doesn't think I'll make it til then :)
Good luck Ella, hope all goes well x

Topsyloulou · 11/09/2014 15:23

That sounds very promising Katherine although the speed baby might deliver sounds scarily quick!

Baby is definitely getting lower again after his reversing manoeuvres earlier in the week. Got a definite waddle and lots of pressure today as well as some twinges and period pains so looks like he's getting the message at last!

KitKat1985 · 11/09/2014 15:38

Sounds promising Katherine!

I think I've given up for now on trying to evict baby. All walking did yesterday was give me a painful stitch so I've decided instead to nap on the sofa this afternoon instead!

cookielove · 11/09/2014 15:46

Hello all :)

Just wanted to let you know that we finally got the test results for our lo, he doesn't have the genetic condition I have :)

TeamEponine · 11/09/2014 16:03

Cookie that is wonderful news!

Oh, Katherine, sounds like it could be a quick one for you.

lilone1234 · 11/09/2014 17:28

Great news cookie - very pleased for you!

Katherine "So low he is almost falling out" - that did make me chuckle! Hope you don't have too much race against the clock when it is time though!

I've had tons more mucus discharge, there's loads! All still quite clear but a very slight blood tinge at one point and an increase in period pains so can only hope that's some progress! Feeling so knackered though.

polkadotdelight · 11/09/2014 17:34

Thats fantastic news cookie. No signs of movement here. DHs colleague has recommended a reflexologist his wife saw 6 weeks ago so I'm waiting for her to call me back.

KitKat1985 · 11/09/2014 18:03

Fantastic news cookie! xx

DizzyKipper · 11/09/2014 18:21

Hope all is going well for you Ella.

Beccus I did think my milk supply had dried up but DD kept comfort nursing and has also gone really crazy with it lately so I'm thinking she must also be getting the colostrum. I'm hoping like you it means my nipples have kept tough and I won't have feeding pain with the newborn.

Katharine sounds positive, hope it's not too quick though.

And that's brilliant news cookie.

Topsyloulou · 11/09/2014 18:49

That's great news Cookie.

dontevenblink · 11/09/2014 21:35

Great news cookie! So pleased for you Smile

Hope everything is going well ella

velvetlilithi · 11/09/2014 22:41

Ella Hope you have your baby already and your induction went smooth!

cookie That's amazing news! Seems you have finally little bit less stress now when you don't have to worry about your baby's health and breastfeeding taking the right direction. Well done!
