Thanks cumbrian and dizzy. Still nothing going on, forgot about the R L tea so just on second cup. Slithy I have not had a reasonable word for my DH in days, you are definitely not alone. Also pressure from others to know what's going on is driving me crackers. It's like I'm somehow responsible for keeping everyone updated and have to deal with their disappointment when I have no news. Like I have a choice and am not giving birth on purpose!

Well if nothing happens with Labour tonight looks like I'll be in for induction tomorrow, really disappointed but on the upside I can turn my phone off and hide from everyone! Off to finish packing a hospital bag...Sad

polkadotdelight · 14/09/2014 22:33

I can sympathise re MIL and appointments. I get asked the date/time and details of appiintments and it annoys me that Im being asked to discuss my nethers (even if she does mean well).

xxmissbrightsidexx · 14/09/2014 22:48

Congratulations everyone who has had their babies x
I've been in hospital since 8.30 Friday morning for induction & still no baby :( the tampon thing that they gave me dilated me so they won't give me the gel & my contractions are all over the place keep stopping and starting. They keep promising that I can have my waters broken but I'm still waiting to go down for it doing & they won't let me leave. Feeling very disheartened, been walking round hospital constantly & bouncing too, have had bits of mucus plug coming out & pressure down below too but they won't examine me again til it's completely necessary but at yesterday's examination i was 2cm. Ridiculously slow labour & missing my boys :(

TeamEponine · 15/09/2014 07:49

Congrats to all those with their babies!!!

missbright, so sorry that things are going so slowly for you. Fingers crossed that things speed up and that today is the day for you.

I really feel for those of you with food stealing DH's! I put my hospital food bag in the boot of the car to keep it safe from both DH and myself! There is also a section in the fridge that has my "first meal home from the hospital" meal on it. DH has been threatened with a fate worse than death if he even touches it. I think I'm hormonal and irrational enough to have scared him, so I'm feeling relatively confident that my food is safe Grin

Tomorrow is the day for us! It's a little daunting, but mainly exciting. I think I might be coming down with a cold though Sad

Nazly · 15/09/2014 08:02

Missing , Ella , Katrina , many congratulations xx see you soon in post natal group
Everyone else good luck :) one of the most exciting days of your life is ahead of you, happening shortly... I hope you are thinking about this and taking it easy... Please rest as much as you can these last few days... You will need the energy soon

DizzyKipper · 15/09/2014 08:26

God it just gets worse slithy. I have found that DH has been less attentive this time around than with our pfb, though it wouldn't be fair to complain about him as overall he's been good. But I do think after the first they get more blasé about it all.

marie definitely look on the bright side, no phone to get hassled on and soon you'll have your baby in your arms Smile What time do you have to go in?

Sorry to hear induction is progressing so slowly missbrightside. Do you have much to keep you entertained whilst you wait. It doesn't seem fair to keep you hanging on so long.

I should be having a visit from the MW today to check my cervix and give a sweep if it's favourable. It's dependent on her ringing me and I'm a bit worried she might forget - my regular MW is on holiday and I've no contact details for this one, nor any clue who/where to ring if it does slip her mind.

CoolCat2014 · 15/09/2014 10:09

Baby cat born 3.15 this morning, beat being induced by 5 hours!

Was 1cm dilated at 10.30pm and got sent home. Went back at 2am, and was 10cm, baby arrived 1 hour 15 later! No time for pain relief other than gas & air, and no time for planned water birth! Midwives were stunned as it's first baby. Can't believe it was so quick!

DizzyKipper · 15/09/2014 10:43

Congratulations Coolcat, I was just wondering how things were going with you. Glad you managed to beat the induction. Is Baby cat a boy or girl?

xxmissbrightsidexx · 15/09/2014 10:44

They've just told me I'm first on the list to go down, but they've been telling me that for days lol x plus side is I've lost the majority of my plug now, so it could all kick off naturally yet x but it's just so long and I miss my kids so much x

ilovemonstersinc · 15/09/2014 11:43

Missb I was given gel on Saturday and that over stimulated me. Was told I was priority due to previous problems and was 1st on list on Saturday night. They sent me to delivery on Tuesday morning at5am! Their problem os emergencies and the women from triage.
Hope its not too long for you
Baby has been weighed hes 10lb5 now so hes been discharged

DizzyKipper · 15/09/2014 12:56

Just had the MW round. She says I'm 1-2cm dilated, which I'm happy with considering I wasn't dilated at all when I went into labour with DD and it took 30 hours to get to 4cm! She did the sweep, can have another on Thurs if nothing starts before then.

holls2000 · 15/09/2014 15:27

just been pre-opped. feel a little bit calmer about things and a bit more prepared. now I can't believe that in 72 hours we should have a baby Smile

Marjal12 · 15/09/2014 17:49

Hi all, accidentally posted on post-natal thread thinking it was this one and only realised when I got home and back to a wi-fi connection!
Baby Penelope arrived lunchtime on Friday after being induced Thursday night. She's fab.
Congratulations to Ella, my induction buddy! And to all the other new mummies (can't remember who has given birth and who's still waiting but know there's a baby coolcat, another Jessica, and a Daniel) Great news for Cookie, and good luck slithy with your HB. See you all on the other side!

polkadotdelight · 15/09/2014 18:03

Congratulations coolcat and marjam!!

slithytove · 15/09/2014 19:50

Lots of late babies, at least I'm in good company!

DizzyKipper · 15/09/2014 20:02

Congratulations marjal.

And many thanks velvet for updating the list, I do like to see the stats but was worried I'd screw it up if I attempted it.

Good luck for tomorrow Eponine

velvetlilithi · 15/09/2014 20:14

DizzyKipper I was worried about screwing up too, but gave it a try Smile

AlwaysandForever09 · 15/09/2014 20:19

Congrats to the new mummies today :) thanks for updating details velvet glad to see there's a few of us overdue in the same boat! Feeling frustrated more than anything today just want to meet my baby! And the constant messages asking if he's here is annoying! People know they will be updated once something happens yet they still have to ask! How's everyone doing?

DizzyKipper · 15/09/2014 20:56

I'll have to be brave and give it a go once there's been some more babies on the thread. I normally have a split screen so worry I might miss some vital details.

Getting lots of sharp pains down below. They started after taking the dog out and I initially thought it was stitches, but still getting them after an hour of sitting. MW said I'd prob get period pains afterwards so must not get my hopes up, but I know my hopes are up already... Must get house tidy just in case.

holls2000 · 15/09/2014 22:34

Good luck tomorrow Eponine

Sorry to the new babies I haven't congratulated.

Any news from missb? Or have I missed that too - quite possible.
How you getting on dizzy?

DizzyKipper · 15/09/2014 23:02

Still having painful period type cramps but so far no contractions. CM was also brown tinged but that's probably bleeding from the sweep. Will take some paracetamol before going to bed.

xxmissbrightsidexx · 16/09/2014 05:00

I went into hospital on Friday at 8.30am to be induced, it's been a long few days of waiting but here is our perfect little outcome. Worth every pain only did it on gas & air, went from being 5cm & told not to push, to fully dilated & pushing her out in the next contraction. Completely overwhelmed x Meet baby Isobel, she weighed 7lb 5oz, born 15-9-2014 at 9.38pm x will add the whole birth story to post natal thread when I've had some sleep x
