That's fantastic news slithy, I'm really pleased for you and hope things get going soon. Besides I think I've been far grumpier and for far longer than you so you're not in any danger of being the grump of the thread just yet Wink

And I don't think you offended anyone Kitkat, I know I definitely wasn't. Like polka says, I think whenever there's baby news those of us that are left are both pleased for the other person and secretly jealous it wasn't us Grin

polka don't worry it's very common for women to think it's their waters when actually it's wee, your MWs won't think anything of it and it's always better to be safe than sorry. Was the pad still wait after an hour?

Sorry to hear about your DH Always, I hope whatever it is passes quickly!

And yes, turning over (or getting up if I've sat down!) is definitely more difficult holls.

I've still not even showered yet Blush Must stop being moody and make sure another day isn't wasted. On the upside I'm having lots of prickly, painful sensations on my bump - whilst I reckon it's prob indigestion related it does mean I can cling onto hope that it might actually be impending labour. Plus DH is making me pancakes, so not all bad.

velvetlilithi · 14/09/2014 10:34

slithylove Great news! Hope it finally starts moving for you and you get the birth you wanted. Nice that you can meet the midwife in advance so you get to know her before she'll be your 'best friend' during labour Grin

velvetlilithi · 14/09/2014 10:47

holls Oh yes, I try not to turn as much often as I'd like to, but when actually turning, I feel like it's the hardest exercise (literally like when someone would be turning a whale Grin). PGP is not helping though.

dizzykipper Hmm, you really made me want pancakes right now Grin. But I can't rely on DH as he's sleeping after another night shift (came home at 4am) and working again from 2pm. And he probably doesn't even know how to make pancakes Smile. He's good in cooking normal meals, but not sweet meals or baking. That's my thing. Wink

Alright, I give up. I'm gonna make some pancakes Blush

ilovemonstersinc · 14/09/2014 10:57

Slithy glad something is kicking off for you anf hope its not too long before you meet your baby. Flowers
Holls I used to cry in pain turning over towards the end as it hurt that much!

zanashar · 14/09/2014 11:02

Mmmmmmmm, pancakes!! ?? if I'd read this before my bacon sandwich I'd have changed my breakfast plans.
The turning over in bed coupled with PGP makes me just not want to go to bed Hmm
I've taken to putting it off and have been going up at 2am the past four nights and getting up,earlier than I would usually just so I turn less.
Good luck to all who's labours have finally started! Hope all goes well for you. Xx
A day over no and still no sign for me. Off to have a raspberry leaf tea, an excessive amount of pineapple and maybe a walk (PGP permitting)
Not had the grumps yet but getting frustrated Angry

polkadotdelight · 14/09/2014 11:11

I think it was wee, pad is dry - oh the shame! Never had that before!

zanashar · 14/09/2014 11:48

DH has scoffed ALL the pineapple I'd chopped up last night for myself. Is it wrong that this has really pissed me off?

velvetlilithi · 14/09/2014 11:59

zanashar I was already after breakfast, but .. what the hell Grin. Too yummy to resist. I'm just finishing fifth one Blush

LH1981 · 14/09/2014 14:50

Just cheered myself up with a concoction of chocolate and hazelnut ice cream with whipped cream and chopped nuts, yum!

This follows a trip to antenatal to get checked because baby hadn't moved in a while...of course, as soon as we got there and the monitors strapped on, he decided to do a gymnastics show! Then there's the piles.
Has anyone else got these pre-delivery??

I asked the midwife and she told me there's nothing that can be done as it's due to the baby putting pressure on blood vessels and it will ease after the birth. Does not sound appealing to me!! One is (tmi alert) the size of a grape! Been putting cream on it for two days but no change - just got some suppositories. Fingers crossed I can get it to at least shrink a bit before I go into labour!!

I feel like I'm a walking advert for contraception!!!

marie1w · 14/09/2014 15:33

Hi ladies
Congratulations to all those with their new babies, or on the way to meeting them!
Hope you don't mind me jumping on board. 40+4 today with first dc. Waters went at half 3 this am so got all excited but since then nothing except lower back and pelvic pain. Currently sat bouncing on ball. Had a home birth planned so really hoping it gets started before tomorrow. Midwife this morning was lovely but gave me lots of info about induction, which has left me disappointed. Really don't like hospitals due to previous experiences so fingers crossed. Anyone ever experienced similar or have any tips to get things going, all greatly appreciatedSmile x

Anyone has experience with rash on a bump after using clary sage oil for a massage (mixed with Palmers Coconut Oil for strech marks) ???

KatharineClover · 14/09/2014 17:14

Hi everyone,
Baby Daniel was born this morning at 8:15am weighing 9lb 15oz!
I woke at 2:30 in labour and gave birth at hospital with DH & my doula with no pain relief (other than TENS) exactly as I had hoped for after DS1's traumatic birth! No pph this time, only lost 300ml blood. I just have a few stitches as I have a couple of grazes. I feel like I have climbed a mountain - a little battered & bruised but I'm on top of the world! Danny is having checks as he passed meconium & they are keeping a close eye on feeds & blood sugar so hopefully we will be home tomorrow & Danny can meet his big brother :)

polkadotdelight · 14/09/2014 17:22

Congratulations katharine and EllaBella!

Eatscones · 14/09/2014 17:36

Ella and Katharine Congratulation and Danny&Madison WELCOME IN THE BIG WORLD!! Glad you all are doing well. Flowers

dontevenblink · 14/09/2014 19:18

Congratulations ella and katharine! Thanks So pleased for you both.

slithytove · 14/09/2014 19:49

I'm angry again.

Just went to the cupboard to find that the 25 odd cereal and biscuit bars that H (not DH) KNEW were for labour/midwives have been reduced to about 5.

Why is he so selfish to not just leave them be? Or at least fucking replace them. Why does his gluttony come before my need to be ready for labour and to be able to eat during labour?

Can I still divorce the bastard?

CumbrianExile · 14/09/2014 20:25

Congrats Ella and Katharine Thanks

Marie my waters broke on the tuesday morning but I didnt go into labour until Wednesday. I came home and pretty much bounced on my ball, ate a curry and took some raspberry leaf tea. It helped and I went into labour naturally before I had to start being induced, so I would say, just keep bouncing Grin

DizzyKipper · 14/09/2014 20:38

Congratulations Ella and Katharine!

Welcome to the group marie, not really sure on what you can do but I hope those contractions get started soon.

That would really annoy me off slithy, as an understatement! Have you sent him to the shops to replace them?

I'm quite annoyed with MIL tonight. She texts us everyday to find out whether or not we're in labour, it's really intrusive and annoying and we only saw her yesterday and did say we'd be phoning people when we had news. So today we just decided to ignore the texts, cue phone call from her because she thought we were in labour as she hadn't heard from us. Because yes, if I am in labour it's obviously far more important for DH to take phone calls from you rather than be there to support me! FS! She's the only one who can't be considerate and wait until we call her, every one else does. Grr.

slithytove · 14/09/2014 21:17

He has gone to shops, and instead of buying granola bars, Special K bars, and penguins, has bought Jaffa cakes and kit kats.

I hate Jaffa cakes and kit kats they aren't exactly what I had intended for good energy in labour.

I really feel like I hate him right now, he just asked me to make him a bread and butter pudding. I don't think so.

Mil is fucking me off as well, though it's not her fault. She wants updates on every midwife appt, and I don't want to tell her about sweeps etc.. Plus I'm seeing midwife almost daily, and don't want to report the same thing constantly, so I told DH to tell her that my next appt is on Friday. He refused to lie. HOWEVER he also insisted I didn't tell PIL that I was planning a home birth or a water birth, so every time they ask about going into hospital or packing bags etc I have to lie.

DH is such a prat! Please tell me this is normal in late pregnancy? I hate to think I'm the only one married to a wanker. I hate having to constantly pull him up on this stuff.

Congratulations ella and katharine Thanks very jealous! Lovely names btw.

holls2000 · 14/09/2014 21:26

Slithy, I feel your pain.

zanashar · 14/09/2014 21:29

Slithy it appears I too am married to a wanker. Glad I'm not alone in having a gluttonous husband who seems to purposely annihilate my supplies of healthy foods Hmm
