Just had my acupuncture. Got baby wriggling and had a few BH, so we will see. Naptime now then reflexology this afternoon.

xxmissbrightsidexx · 12/09/2014 13:08

Nothing's been said about me going home so think I'm here for the long haul x what she put in me feels like a tampon and it's really giving me loads of uncomfortable pressure & pain down there is that a sign it's working?

Topsyloulou · 12/09/2014 13:19

Good luck Missb. Sounds like you could be in for a long wait but at least it's underway.

Hope things are progressing well for you Ella.

I'm making lots of plans for the next 12 days, would rather have something to look forward to and then cancel them if I need to.

Had mw this morning. He's moved back down again but still only 2/5 engaged. She tried to do a sweep but cervix is still too thick so he's not going to be arriving any time soon. Booked in for another sweep on Thursday.

lucidlady · 12/09/2014 13:33

Is it Propess missb? Did they give you a sweep beforehand?

Missingcaffeine · 12/09/2014 14:30

I think I'm in labour!!
I woke up loads last night - to pee and feeling uncomfortable, then at 5am had contraction with period like pain, and they've been continuing since - but pretty mild so I've been quite chilled about it, pottering around. They've been quite irregular all morning, so hospital told me not to go in until regular, but last 30 mins they are every few mins and pain getting worse (not unbearable) and lasting 40secs to a minute. Ahhhhh!!!! I'm waiting for my OH to get home from work and now I'm panicking that he won't get to me in time and to hospital in time (good 20 mins home, 20 mins to hospital + friday afternoon traffic)!

KatharineClover · 12/09/2014 15:33

Hope you are at hospital now missing and good luck. Don't panic, the adrenaline from the journey and change of venue should slow things down a bit. X

ShowMeShowMeTheWine · 12/09/2014 15:44

Good luck missing!

ShowMeShowMeTheWine · 12/09/2014 15:44

Good luck missing!

zanashar · 12/09/2014 15:52

Good luck to Missbrightside & missingcaffeine.

beccus if you've not already check out House of Cards, and also Orange is the New Black. Both are Netflix original productions and each season is 13 episodes. Should keep you occupied for a bit at least!
But finish Breaking Bad first..........it's best thing I've seen in Years!!!!

Topsyloulou · 12/09/2014 15:55

Good luck missing.

LetticeKnollys · 12/09/2014 16:04

I am due on the 15th but am starting to get impatient!

We're having a boy - hopefully by home birth - and we're calling him Zachary. Smile

I name changed recently after going quiet a few threads back!

There were hardly any women expecting girls at my antenatal classes either. Strange.

DizzyKipper · 12/09/2014 16:46

Sounds good missing, I hope thing are still progressing nicely and your baby will be here soon.

I've been having period type cramps all day, I'm really hoping it'll turn into contractions. fx

lilone1234 · 12/09/2014 17:51

Another potential labour here...last night period pains started getting quite strong but did settle down. This AM very large mucus loss and now am continuing to lose fluid which I thought was still discharge but i'm now thinking could be waters?! I really don't know - there's not so much jelly type stuff but still expected waters to be more watery and just definite. I know they don't always gush but I thought it would be enough to be sure?

Meanwhile, period type cramps in back/tops of thighs on and off throughout the day and are getting quite strong. It is a pain that comes on like a wave now and then goes as opposed to a continuous dull ache. Is this a contraction?

I feel totally clueless and am too embarrassed to ring the hospital to say that I MIGHT be having contractions and my waters MIGHT have broken but I really don't know either way...

holls2000 · 12/09/2014 17:51

question for those of you who have had sections. suddenly wondered - do I need to get bikini line waxed before thursday?

Cindy5389 · 12/09/2014 17:58

Lilone1234 - my mw said if u think ur waters have gone, put a pad on and check in an hour or so. Should be quite wet if it's ur waters.

Good luck to those in labour!

question for those of you who have had sections. suddenly wondered - do I need to get bikini line waxed before thursday?

Holls the information I was given by my hospital said not to shave or wax for a week before the operation. This was incredibly helpful as I was given this information 3 days before my ELCS. And I'd shaved the previous evening.

I know that other hospitals don't say not to. Its very much a hospital by hospital policy.

I believe there is supposed to be an increased risk of infection if you do though.

ok so just leave it then? excellent another bit of humiliation coming my way Smile I had to call the other day as was on aspirin and mw suddenly realised I should prob come off it...hospital hadn't mentioned it! pre op on Monday so will maybe prepare them for fact I havent done anything to tidy up for them. .... Shock

cookielove · 12/09/2014 19:23

holls I went into labour with myself oh natural, I've never waxed so it was rather thick Blush

Good luck those in labour!

CordeliaScott · 12/09/2014 19:43

Hi everyone, I was on some of the earlier threads but couldn't keep up as it moves so fast. I'm due on 13 August and am so jealous of everyone that has already given birth. I'm fed up of waiting now and have only had one week at home so far...

Good luck to missbrightside, missingcaffeine and lilone!

DizzyKipper · 12/09/2014 20:23

lilone those sound like contractions to me. If you haven't done so already then you should really ring up the hospital, please don't be embarrassed they're really used to people ringing up not being certain. I didn't believe at first I was having contractions when labour started with DD, I kept thinking I was just being stupid and getting it mixed up. Hope all is going well for you.

xxmissbrightsidexx · 12/09/2014 22:29

Thanks for good luck messages ladies x still no sign of baby yet, getting pains but they're scattered so hopefully tomorrow will be the day x gonna be examined tomorrow around 10am ish and maybe given some prostaglandin, haven't had a sweep yet neither x

xxmissbrightsidexx · 12/09/2014 23:01

Or prostin, I can't remember what it was she said id be having x

slithytove · 12/09/2014 23:16

I'm so fed up.

Went for acupuncture and reflexology today, the reflexology especially was lovely. Got home all relaxed and DH was being a right prick. We've made it up now but it's just not what I wanted today. I've had a bath with clary sage, just had a curry (and a spoonful of the most disgusting vile phal sauce), and now chilling in the living room.

But I feel very weepy and down and like this just isn't going to happen for me. And I feel that if I go past Monday and can't have my lovely midwife, that my dreams of a home vbac will go out of the window.

And I know that even just feeling like this is going to prevent labour happening as I need to be happy and relaxed!

Help :(

dontevenblink · 13/09/2014 05:43

Hope everyone is ok, hope those waiting for labour to start get to meet your baby soon :) Hope induction is going well missbrightside.

Sorry to hear you're feeling down slithy, the last few days of pregnancy can be pretty miserable, hope there is some progress soon Flowers

lilone when my waters went with dc1 and 2 there was no gush, just a constant dribble. I wasn't sure if they'd gone both times, but I put a pad on and it kept getting wet so figured they had. With dc1 I wasn't sure they definitely had until went into hospital and they confirmed it and sent me home to wait for labour to start. They continued to dribble from the Saturday night when they went until the Tuesday night when I finally had her!!

CoolCat2014 · 13/09/2014 06:56

Well I think I might be in early labour... Lost mucus plug last night (it totally freaked me out) having painful contractions last night every half hour, now seems like every 10 mins this morning. Hoping this is it!
